Creation of a "Connected Non-Profit" and the "Pimping" of Public Facilities, Part 6
"Contract for the Connected"
What is the reward for the likes of Jenny Krusoe and Lou Calanche after shilling for the Autry looting of the Southwest Museum and contributing to the cost of re-electing Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, respectively ??
Well if you are partners in the latest "Connected Non-Profit, Legacy LA", it is your first city contract!!
And what a coincident that other members of Legacy LA advisory group, Barrio Action (Tammy Membrano) and the Violence Intervention Program (Ellen Sanchez and company with David Galaviz supporting), are also included in the contract pictured above.
One could remember the Mayor saying that there would be a new level of openness and transparency in the awarding of Gang Prevention and Intervention Contracts. But the only thing transparent here is the level of inside support from the Mayor's office for the "connected few", that pay the price in shilling for the mayor's pet projects (Autry expansion at Griffith Park) or just pay the price ($1,000 campaign contribution).
Then in viewing the contract above, it becomes evident that Legacy LA was a throw in this contract award when compare to establish organizations as Barrio Action and V.I.P.
There was speculation from community members that Barrio Action (who the "Barrio Pimp, Jose Huizar" loves to give money to, $4,306, $3,500, $500, and $1,860 ) was forced to include Legacy LA in their contract proposal under direction from the Mayor's office, and with Mayor staffer Abigail Ramirez in constant attendance at Legacy LA meetings, there is some credence to that speculation.
So much for fairness and openness in the contract selection process as LA Weekly's Daniel Heimpel have reported and as seen in this series.
Your thoughts........
In Part 7 and the last in a "Creation of a "Connected Non-Profit", "Promises and Programs".

THESE MINDLESS, ALL-TOO-SIMILAR POSTS HAVE BECOME IRRELEVANT AND LONG WINDED.
LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU THINK THIS WILL BE OVER. WAR AND PEACE IS EASIER TO READ.

Red Snot,
Since you are so concerned about this subject, what did you do to bring about change in the last city election?
Assuming you got off your ass to try something, you didn't do enough. Blame only yourself for being a little too little, a little too late.

Interesting how Legacy does not appear to have any role but is listed at the top as a partner. What service(s) is Legacy providing? Or did it merely obtain control over a City facility do to a political handout from the Mayor's office?
Anonymous said:
More likely a political handout from huizar's office. Wants to make sure that Tammy and Lou dont run against him next time out. little does he know there are already enough people getting in that race to fill a ballot. There is a big name to jump in that race, one that will be self financed with name ID.

How about these hand outs from Huizar as noted in the LA Weekly ?
Huizar spent his $100,000 gift card as if he were creating support in anticipation of a run for an Eastside congressional seat — a job the largely unknown councilman is known to lust after. Huizar sent $15,000 to Arte Calidad Cultural Institute; $4,306, $3,500, $500, and $1,860 to the Barrio Action Youth & Family Center; $5,000 to the Center for Education and Immigration Services; $5,000 to the El Sereno Bicentennial Committee, and $3,780 to Roosevelt High School cheerleaders.

that's not a very nice way of wording . From what I've been told , Huizer is of the king of the palace mindset and his poor wife is just a victim of the barefoot and pregnant mentality that goes along with it.
Shouldn't she get a little pity and respect?

I just met his new Chief of Staff, does this mean Weezeer has moved on. Well not really moving on, more like moving to where many have been.

A woman activist in El Sereno claims interest in a CD14 run. What is her name?

We all have pity for Richelle, Francine Godoy is NOT his wife but she too is a victim.

So did I, was it at the Inter City Struggle fundraiser Huizar had at his house? I had heard that about her, is it really true? Many have said she is like a doorknob, "everyone gets a turn".
I guess its not only Huizar who gets around in CD14, although he is the jealous type.

Besides Tammy Membrano? Maybe Cynthia Ruiz, the Mayor's sidekick.

I will admit that I read these posts and have found them interesting on occassion. However, what is up with this post? It sounds like a bunch of middle school girls gossiping over other middle school girls. Can someone recommend a good blog where I can read and comment on significant concerns. If politicians are bad representatives then don't vote for them. If you want them out, don't just say it, do it!
A lot of bark and no bite from everyone on this blog. Why not do some heavy hitting and get the Times involved. Enough of everyone on these blogs claiming to want to work for social and political change. Stop acting like a bunch of little school girls and use your college-educated minds to create some real action. I presuming most of you have a college degree, no?
If you can't manage that than just admit you can't and start organizing yourselves around someone who can! Who is up to the task?....

Let's play a little game shall we? Who's in? Purse is $1,000. Who will be the next CD14 staffer to quit?
