Notes on the CD 2 Special Election Scorecard

"Who will be in the Run-off after Tuesday's Special Election??"
Great Sunday to all as water erupts from yet another broken DWP water main, this time in Venice.
** In the theme of the late, great Sports Writer for the defunct Herald-Examiner and LA Times Allan Malamud, we present the "Notes on the CD 2 Special Election Scorecard". Many of you in the political bloggersphere who are old enough to remember "Mud's" popular "Notes on the Scorecard" column which graced both the Hearld and the LA Times on Page 2, will agree that it was the definite read after a busy sports weekend.
The Valley's long time "newspaper of record" the Daily News aka. "Moldy Green Sheet", finds time to devote some column inches to Tuesday's Special Election. It all about the "topics" as water main breaks, development, and the carpetbaggers.
What is Candidate Chris Essel's favorite route in commuting to CD 2? A. Coldwater Canyon? B. Laurel Canyon? C. The 405? D. Won't care after Tuesday.
"Village to Village Blog" Writer Mark Hatfield has some impressions on the various CD 2 candidates worth reading.
CD 2 Candidate/celebrity lookalikes: Chris Essel and the "Joker"
Who would be the best "deficit spender" to elect for City Council in CD 2?? Ponder these numbers from the Ethics Commission website. A. Chris Essel , Contributions: $294,030, Expenses: $321,464 B. Paul Krekorian, Contributions: $157,870 Expenses: $225,255.
Mark Hatfield has some thoughts on the impact of KRLA Talk Show Host Kevin James's Friday night endorsement of Mary Benson.
Auditioning for possible future employment?? How does Michael "Szabo" Higby, Councilman Paul Krekorian's Deputy Chief of Staff for Media Relations sound??
Payments to the Campaign Consultants: A. Tamar Galatzan, "William Berry Campaigns" $9388.88, "Devin Osiri" $4000.00 B. Chris Essel, "Shallman Communications" $165,000, "Thomas Berman" $27,500.00 C. Paul Krekorian, "EDH & Associates" $88,048. ** Wonder if this includes "Black Ops" costs.
Weather Forecast for Tuesday in CD 2 from the National Weather Service. Hint, vote early to beat the heat.
Notable last-minute contributions to CD 2 candidates: A. Tamar Galatzan, "Eli Broad" $500, "Edythe Broad" $500.00 B. Paul Krekorian, "SEIU Local 1000" $500, $17,000+ from the Los Angeles County Democratic Party as part of their exclusive "get out the vote effort for Krekorian". C. Chris Essel, "former State Senate Leader Don Perata" $500.00 D. Frank Sheftel, "former City Councilman Joel Wachs" $250.00 "Actor Rip Taylor" $500.00 E. Mary Benson, "Walter Moore" $100.00.
Joe Barrett's musical dedication to KRLA's Kevin James, The Ramones "Beat on the Brat".
Blogger Phil "Jennerjahnisms" in the CD 2 Special Election: A. "Axis of Evil Candidates", B. "Is Judy Price a Dangerous Enemy of Freedom".
Political lookalikes: Assemblyman Paul Krekorian who was lauded for his efforts in Sacramento, on a TV spot this weekend and CD 2 Candidate of the same name, Paul Krekorian.
My hopefuls for the run-off after Tuesday's vote: A. Mary Benson B. Tamar Galatzan.

Red Spot I make more money now than Krekorian could afford to pay his staffers. Plus I have an amazing employer who I would not leave.

Plus I got a lot more bloggin' left in me. :)

And indeed, the Jennerjahnisms are about to give the RedSpotisms a run or their money.

Time to start back up the Mayor Sam store to put these things on some schwag.

Your political skill in this race looks a lot like SC football last Saturday. It is Christine and Paul standing on Wed.

You forgot my two other catchphrases:

1) Freedom-hating liberal

Sounds like a sure winner, Spot! Tamar and Mary would be a fun run-off. I'd prefer two of the non-carpet baggers/non-Big Three, but that is wishful thinking.

If we all hadn't been so damn busy trying to survive the Station Fire, we might have been able to put more effort into the 7 locals. Just another reason to catch that arsonist, lock him in the same room with the people who lost their homes in Trail Canyon, and walk away for an hour or so.

So Joel Wachs and Rip Taylor use Sheftel's medical marijuana services.

Amazing what you learn from campaign contributions!
