Now Joe let me suggest one point here. You're doing what some people accuse liberals of doing in a debate and going for a red herring and slamming Kevin. So rather than reinforce that stereotype how about spending your time refuting point for point why Kevin is wrong, why you think Mary Benson is NOT a viable candidate and why your candidate is better.
I don't think Kevin called you any names when he made his endorsement or recalled any of your embarrassing moments.

I get your point. I can not support Mary (although I love her) because this is a CD2 election, not just a Sunland-Tujunga election. If we were our own district, Mary would win hands down. But we are not our own district, we have to consider the voting populace of Studio City and Sherman Oaks. Mary does not have the support in those areas to carry this election. Tamar does. It's a simple as that.

Have you ever heard Kevin's show, Michael? He dishes it out all night long. He always open his mouth before he knows what he is talking about. Except this time someone was there to hold him accountable.
Tamar also has the neighborhood prosecutor background, a big plus in understanding what one has to go through in dealing with the City.

It is so odd that Joe presumes that Mary has no support from the south of the district. To the contrary, she has a number of supporters in the district south of ST. Michael when are you going to post Mary's resume and her supporter list?
And what embarrassing moment? Joe seems to have had a number of outbursts and name calling tantrums, but he never seems to be embarrassed when he viciously attacks people. What else does he do?
Yikes! Talk about being unprepared. Both of them hadn't no idea what Chamberlain did that caused his downfall. It was, of course, his stupid photo op as he got of an aeroplane (that's what they used to call them) on September 30, 1938, after meeting with "Herr Hitler" and giving away half of Czechoslovakia. Chamberlain posed for newsreel cameras he waved around a piece of paper and proudly proclaimed "I have in my hand a piece of paper signed by the German Chancellor, Herr Hitler, guaranteeing peace in our time."
Of course, Chamberlain had to eat humble pie as the Nazis invaded Poland, and the rest is history. Chamberlain's "Peace in our time" speech is often used as the paradigm of appeasement. Both Matthews and James knew the appeasement paradigm, neither knew the facts.
There must be a bunch of very very worried Villaraigossa supporters in CD2 right now, if they really feel the meed to trash Kevin James. It can only be because Mary Benson is looking very strong with all of Moore and Trutanich's people likely to actually turn out and vote - that's over 8,000 votes!
Holly crap! E$$el, Krackho, and Glutonzan must be shitting themselves! All that money and no traction. The only radio station seriously covering this election is backing an independent, while Doug McIntyre's unholy relationship with Wendy Greuel's husband (well, Dean Schram is his agent) really undermines Doug's support for Glutonzan.
I wonder how long it will be before one of the Young Dems posts a comment that Kevin James is a Mormon? Well, he is one of sorts - a Walter Moore man!

Joe B. I'd be careful with the "Tamar also has the neighborhood prosecutor background" thing. it's going to bite her in the ass. Sorting our barking dogs and noisy neighbors who put too much trash in their green recycling bin. That's what Tamar does. She was going to use the line "The experienced prosecutor" but some other failure ruined that line - her mentor; Jackass Weiss. The less people know about Tamar, the better her chances are of a best of the rest finish with Kreckorian and Benson in the run off.
Tamar's neighborhood prosecutor background is solid. Just ask anyone she represents.

Maybe a good name for the Mary Benson and Kevin James team should be, "Pinky and the Brain".
Is this REALLY the best Joe can do to support his candidate? Attack someone who endorses an opposing candidate -- and on grounds having nothing to do with the election?
This just tells me Joe is unable to articulate any reasons -- based on policy or credentials -- for people to support his candidate rather than Mary Benson.

James clearly knows nothing about the Munich Pact where Chamberlain and Hitler signed an agreement of non-aggression as long as he ceded 1/2of Czechoslovokia to Nazi Germany.
When Chamberlain returned, he waived the paper in the the air and aid "We will have peace in our time."
If James had known that, we could all have saved five minutes.

I had seen this video before...I didn't think James did that badly...Matthews kept shouting him down and not letting him answer. James knew Chamberlains moves were all about appeasement..and he said that about 20 times. James didn't give the fine details of what happened, but who cares? He knew what he was talking about.

If you take a look at what Phil J and Joe B are both saying, it really boils down to a Right versus Left battle for CD2. The Left has their 'Obamas' (The Big Three) and the party faithful blindly worship anyone with the party endorsement. The Right only has Mary Benson as the rest of them are too weak to say where they stand politically.
That really splits up the Left votes; Glutonzan has the lazy ass Young Dems (who don't vote), E$$el has the Westside limo libs (who cannot vote in CD2) and Krackho has the name recognition dems.
On the other hand, the Right only has one horse in the race, and will consolidate voters.
As much as Joe B is clearly squirming in the face of his favored Obama (Glutonzan) there's a huge problem with playing the Obama factor - Barack's popularity ratings are in the toilet. His healthcare plan has older folks worried, as well as the middle of the road folks who gave Obama the benefit of the doubt in '08, and are regretting it now. Add into the mix Glutonzan's support for building new schools that will jack up property taxes this year, and the Left is going to get f*cked by the Trutanich factor on Tuesday.
Landslide to the Right on Tuesday, and there's only one candidate on the Right.
Villaraigosa's plan to field three candidates is looking as healthy as his shared sacrifice crap.

If he is going to jump in and endorse someone, it needs to be brought to people's attention the kind of clown who is pushing his weight around. No one dishes it out more than Kevin. How can he do that when:
1. He dropped out after 1 year of law school. Shit, even Antonio managed to graduate!
2. He came in LAST PLACE in the Mayor's race, losing by thousands to even Zuma Dogg and Gordon Turner.
3. He has posted hundreds of immature strings and comments on Mayor Sam.
4. Has declared that he is taking charge of the Antonio recall, dismissing concerns about deadlines.
Yes, with that track record, Phil is just the kind of man......who can't even get elected to a Neighborhood Council, let alone congress or city hall.

The way the Democrats have ruined our city I and many friends are now going to register Republican. The clowncils fools don't know how to run a city and do their job. You've over-analyzed the race. Voters don't know who's right or left, Republican or Democrat. Many people will simply go to the polls and vote based upon the occupational description or where the person's name appears on the ballot. Others will vote for the name they recognize, hence the edge to those who have the money to get their names known.

"a dangerous enemy of freedom" because she didn't invite HIS favorite candidates, the sure and sore losers. Including the homeless idiot who's the carpetbagger without even a carpet, can't even manage to stay in a free apt. and won't say who loaned it to him til what was supposed to be December, he initially claimed, then threw him out at dawn on a Sunday.
James trashing people gratuitously and lies nonstop for money, ratings and to bolster his own run for some office. He is the REAL "dangerous enemy of freedom," a liar and demagogue and nasty man. Hate Jack Weiss if you want and of course all Trutanich fanatics do, but James constantly insisting he "is responsible for keeping rapists and murderers on our streets, that's his real goal," because the rest of the council (a more jealous bunch can't be imagined, amazing he got most of them to support him) didn't approve the money to test all DNA kits earlier. Although Weiss worked for years with LAPD setting up a program to implement it that hit the ground running as soon as the funding was approved. And it WAS before he left, allegedly in perpetuity. This kind of lie is a downright slander but what else do we expect from James?
By the way, now that he's gone, WHO is fighting for the LAPD? Can't see anyone is, though of course Zine claims to - he's the one who got the Police League (who some call Political Protective League) with his friend Republican Paul Weber, to throw almost a million bucks at electing his buddy Trutanich, and their first trick was to publicly bash LAPD for its smooth handling of the Lakers parade and Jackson events, making for not only problem or lawsuit. The rank & file and all the officers were ashamed of Weber's decision and he's now eating crow, desperately trying to shore up the laughingstock image of his guy.
For other blatant lies to bolster his stupid recall file on Villaraigosa: not the substantive issues regarding DWP or schools, etc., but wacky invented things. He's not furthering intelligent discourse but the opposite. And he proudly supports the Minutemen, has them on his show. The stuff he said about the "death panels" makes Palin look like a brain.
I can see he's a sage to Phil and apparently Mary and Moore - enough said.
Essel's people have been e-mailing out this video to NC leaders for a couple of weeks.
Trutanich not living up to his promises? How about slashing outside counsel expenses, winning cases that Rocky would have settled, hiring 200 cops to police the city, and hiring a crack team of professional lawyers with real legal experience, not the political hacks that Rocky embedded?

That's why he only wants Wendy to audit Rocky's books, not his, wants to leave it as being at his "invitation" and discretion, with the added huge waste of an extra set of auditors paid for by the City atty's dept. staff "as his extra set of eyes"/ spies reporting to him on what she does.
In fact he's attracted at least several class-action lawsuits from groups he wooed and lied to for the election, for either violating the constitution or choosing to misinterpret the law to suit his rightwing fans.
As he told Regardie of Downtown News and the downtown business gathering siding with Chick, that whole issue of ethics, lying and fraud "is a minor matter" to him. Even the Daily News says flat-out that he cares about himself "more than the good of the city," Doug a former supporter is being slammed and lied about like the poster here for siding with Chick and noting in his own article Nuch "is in freefall," that he abuses his "silo of lawyers" to bully and threaten anyone who doesn't kow-tow to him; he's what CityWatch calls "Carmen the Saop Opera," and they reposted "Trutanich, Taggers, and the Madness of Really Bad Injunctions."
