Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Wednesday

Assemblyman Paul Krekorian is looking more and more like he's running to succeed Wendy Greuel on the City Council following her ascencion to City Controller. We reported months ago the other Paul K was planning to run and now the Daily News reports he has rented an apartment in CD2 to establish residency while he mulls over the decision.  Stay tuned.

Great article by Jon Regardie in the LA Downtown News about Mayor Villaraigosa's Summer of Love 2.  Dating former Miss South Carolina and Betty styler Lu Parker it appears the Mayor has taken to saying "Y'all."  Despite the Mayor's protests,  Regardie says that Villaraigosa :has made the public almost as interested in him as they are in Octomom."

Speaking of Summer of Love 2, the box office returns are not the same as the original.  Eastside blog Franklin Avenue ran a poll and their readers - by 65% to 23% - prefer Mirthala Salinas over Lu Parker.  Also nabbing votes were write-in candidates such as Sharon Tay, Paul Moyer and Huell Howser; none of whom I was aware had dated the Mayor.

Janice Hahn was just re-elected to her third and final term and already potential successors are lining up to seek her seat in 2013.  Among those possibly interested are former CD15 Councilman Rudy Svorinich who thanks to Measure R could pull a Richard Alarcon one term return act and be an immediate lame duck; also considering former South Bay based school board member Mike Lansing.

Krekorian will be making the biggest mistake of his political life.

Christine Essel is a super candidate; she knows the city, has experience, is good to look at, and she's smart and she's popular.

Most importantly she can raise gobs of cash and will outspend him.

Did I mention she lives in the district and he would be a carpetbagger?

There is no love for Sacramento polititians in these here parts, so Paul would be wise to just stay put and be glad he has a job at all.

With Chirs Essel (The Mayors Candidate) already filing with the Ethics Commission to run in CD2, many prespective candidates are thinking hard about running or not running. So far three have filed their Notice of Intent. Speaking of Chris, she is not a Carpetbagger but comes with a lot of baggage. She could turn out to be the Mayors 3rd Strike; Measure B, Jack Weiss and now Essel.

Good luck to all, but the tread to divide up the spoils among political insiders is coming to an end.

Let's find a good candidate to slaughter the Mayor's preferred candidate.

You dim wits! Chris Essel moved in to CD 2 a couple of months ago from over the hill just to run for the seat. If she is not a carpetbagger, then neither is Paul Krekorian. And he is the superior candidate.

5:11 A.M.

Some questions about Chris from some one who lives in the 2nd.

How is Chris who just moved into from CD 5 not a carpet bagger?

She is popular? with who? there are not 5 people in CD2 who know who she is.

Every one will raise lots of money and with spending caps it does not matter much any way.

I suspect your a Essel staffer since most normal people are not up at 5:11 A.M to comment on city council race that has yet to be even declared.

If Bill Robertson commits to running, he will kick all those carpetbaggers butts!

One Carpetbaggers is not better than the other. No wonder Paul Krekorian was in the Sunland-Tujunga 4th of July Parade last year. He was trying to get name recongnition. He has never represented any community above North Hollywood in CD2. He's going to be in the parade this year as well and he won't get a warm receiption from us. We don't like carpetbaggers. He moved from Glendale to Burbank to run for their city council as well but missed the deadline.

Do we want a professional politician that will do the same crap as always because they are so well connected? I say NO!

Chris Essel was an executive at Paramount for years. Look for those money people to support her. I hate when people move into a district just to run. People should be asking Chris what the hell has she done for any community besides give Antonio tons of money

Don't forget about Zuma Dogg.

I think Zuma is staying undeclared as long as possible so that he can still go on radio shows.

Many believe this election will be decided by the voters in Sherman Oaks. Sherman Oaks is in both CD2 and CD5. Chris may be a new resident of CD2 but that will not matter to the folks in S.O.

With the Mayor supporting her she will be viewed as unstopple. Did Krekorian move out of the 43rd AD?

It's doubtful ZD has that big strategy Phil He lives from day to day, meal to meal, sidewalk to city hall and he's the best advocate we have. Why don't you take him home for a night and give him the respect and recognition he deserves for paving the way for you and others. No disrespect intended but you don't get ZD and you need him to run your campaign.

Chris Essel is the last thing that CD 2 wants. Former CRA executive = pro-development and former Paramount executive = big money that will mean nothing in that district. Those folks have a mind of their own and Villaraigosa candidates aren't in the mix usually. That's why Galatzan can't win. She had VICA all wrapped up. That goes against against the grain of the CD 2 constituents. They want fair representation, not candidates who are enticed by 3 terms of a council member who is overpaid and will continue to get raises along with the judges. why do you think all these people are moving into the district to run? Because they care about the district? Or in these tough economic times, are they looking for high salary that goes on and on with all the benefits one could want with regular raises? Bad move.

CD 2 says NO to corporate candidates!

Paul is a part of the problem in Sacramento. Ok so he was on the Glendale or Burbank city council and represents part of the area. Here is a guy that is just looking for a job at the public expense. Someone with no ability to get anything done just wants a paycheck. Like another poster mentions if Bill Robertson does commit he has credibility, common sense, and a proven track record of working with the people of LA to get things done. Oh did I mention that he is smart and is not a tool of the development community. These people like Essel or Krekorian that just are looking for a job at the public expnese because they could not get one in the private sector where you actually have to produce a product should consider moving to Chicago.

One of the councilmembers told me, “There are too many medical marijuana dispensaries and we are going to reject all the hardship exemptions…” [BRAKES SCREETCH ON ZUMA DOGG’S “Subaway to the Sea” train.]…DID YOU JUST SAY “WE”RE GOING TO REJECT ALL OF THEM???”

How do YOU know, already? All of the cases have not had a hearing, yet? You may FEEL there are enough co-ops already…and you may BELIEVE that ALL of them used bullshit reasons for filing the hardships (because to say you were going to reject them all means you must believe they are all B.S.); HOWEVER, there’s a little concept this country was founded upon, and that’s “if it doesn’t fit, you must acquit”…I mean, “Innocent until proven un-hardshipped!”

Paul only rented an inexpensive apartment in Valley Glen. He doesn't have to move in it in order to run. Alarcon did the same thing in District 7. He ownes a house he doesn't keep up. doesn't stay there. Instead he lives in his wife's house in District 2. Cindy Montanez moved into District 7 to run and made a deal with the Cartel not to run. So she moved into District 2 and to run for CD2 if she wants. However, she makes more money by being on two commissions where she only has to work less than a week a month so why should she decide to run the "measly" pay of council rep!

Our whole system is a sham. We really do not have representation for the people We need a Los Angeles Tea Party!

Zuma Dogg, Phil is trying to lay off on you the RIDICULOUS idea he came up with for a recall.

Once he found out that he'll need even more than 240,000 signatures, assuming falsely that there will be no false sigs, he decided to dump it off on you.

Phil has proven to be a slacker. That's why people are asking to know what he does to pay the rent. Which is nothing! That was the point, to show that he is lazy and wants Zuma Dogg to do all the work.

You might want to get that point out to him the next time he dares to raise your name in the Ferraro Chambers.

Big ZD,

FCC considerations...

If you are not officially a candidate, the radio show hosts can have you on their show and not have to give "equal time" to your opponents.. however many people are going to run for CD 2.

I think it will be 5 or 6 people.

Just my opinion.

Phil is absolutely right to place his trust in ZD to get the job done!!

Who else can he rely upon to see it all the way through to victory?

ZD, a proven winner in life, is theonly man around here that canpersonally gather up 480,00 signatures to recall the unemployed, deeated loser Villaraigosa.

So, tonmorrow, when Zuma takes on this immense job, remember, he needs your full support, but he is The Man and can do it.

Si se puede!!!

Just read the story about Janice Hahn's would-be successors.

Why was that story in the Contra Costa Times and not the LA Times or Daily Breeze?

Just curious.
