Treasury Dept & HUD To Suspend Foreclosures for 30 Days, Villar Admits To Tough Budget Year, and Nunez To Get Out of Politics
WARREN BUFFETT: Buffet called into CNBC this morning to announce that he is offering $800 billion to re-insure municipal bond portfolios. (Hey Antonio...CALL NOW!) Good short-term news, although this is still only a drop in the overall bucket. And he's only going to be insuring the low-risk part of the problem. (And that's not the problem!) Read below, and hopefully this move can help prevent the scenario. One of the three insurers he made the offer to already declined.)
TREASURY DEPT & HUD TO HELP PREVENT FORECLOSURES: Lenders offer broader mortgage plan, extends to borrowers of all loans, not just subprime. The plan will allow seriously overdue homeowners to suspend foreclosures for 30 days while lenders try to work out more affordable loans, according to AP
. The plan, called Project Lifeline, will be announced Tuesday by the Treasury Department and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, said a person familiar with the plan who confirmed earlier news reports about the plan but spoke on condition of anonymity because it had not yet been made public.

I would like to see an additional breakdown of the city budget. How much do we U.S. taxpayers waste on services for illegal aliens? Sheriff Baca says approximately 25% of his jail inmates are illegal aliens. How much do we spend on police, courts, prosecutors, public defenders and jails for those 25% of illegal aliens in Sheriff Baca’s jails?
What percentage of those low performing LAUSD students are illegal aliens. How much money is spent for teachers, buildings, books and etc. for uneducated children of the illegal aliens?
If you have a bunch of poor and uneducated relatives move into your house, and have to pay for much of their services, of course you will be broke.
It doesn’t take a financial genius to know all these poor illegal alien mexicans are a tax burden on American citizens who work hard and now have to waste their tax dollars money supporting them.

Supervisor Mike Antonovich has revealed the horrendous costs of illegal aliens, just in our county alone. Consider these numbers when you vote for the candidate who promises to stop this flow of illegals into the United States.
Twenty-five percent of all welfare and food stamp benefits are going directly to children of illegal aliens. Illegal immigrants collected in welfare more than $20 million for November 2007 and more than $16million in monthly food stamps for a projected annual cost of $444 million.
Antonovich said: "With $220 million for public safety, $400 million for health care, and $444 million in welfare, the total cost for L.A. County taxpayers (alone) far exceeds one billion dollars, not including millions of dollars for education."
