Villaraigosa Gets With The Dogg/Dowd Program Regarding Special Event Fee Waivers! (He's Learning...YEAH!)

First he says, "Hell No!" to any thoughts City Council may have of using "Trash Collection Fee" money for anything else but hiring new cops.

Antonio knows if this money earmarked/promised for new cops was used for anything else, he would be thrown to the lions.

AND, he knows with all the high-density housing being created for the population boom that is coming...we are gonna be dangerously short on police enforcement, to begin with.

The City has already admitted there will not be enough mass transit/infrastructure to accommodate (Dumb) "Smart Growth"/(Hideous) "Elegant Density"...and they have already admitted it's not so easy to find qualified new police recruits, even WITH the money.

So people like Anshultz with AEG/LA LIVE and Eli Broad with Grand Avenue Project (the City's billion dollar luxury bookends) -- have to be wondering if there will be enough law enforcement to maintain a safe environment. (What's between the billion dollar bookends/aka: Skid Row and a wave of homelessness about to be forced onto LA streets in higher numbers than anticipated).

So Antonio finally desperate enough to have to start saying things a Mayor who wants to be re-elected should be saying to prevent this straw from breaking the camel's back.

AND NOW THIS!!!

A single sentence (suitable for framing) by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa:

"Villaraigosa also aksed the council to suspend the practice of granting fee-waivers for special events, which could result in an annual savings of $3 million to $5 million."

Hoooooooooody hoooooooooo! MATT "GUITAR" DOWD...WHAT'S UP WIT IT, DOUGHT!!! TRIUMPHANT VICTORIOUSNESS, Y'ALL...SIMPLY ON THE REALEST, DOUGH!!!

MAYOR ANTONIO...FINALLY GETTING WITH THE DOGG/DOWD AGENDA! First, by actually sticking up for using a fee for what it was promised for; and by suggesting to can the special event fee waivers, on the realest!

sordid scratch your special event if you scratch mine is Finally, maybe coming to an end, maybe, doubtfully. We'll see what lame excuse these knucklehead councilmembers use to keep waiving. Would be nice to wave bye bye to all of them.

Too bad a few members like Janice Hahn and a few of the Latinos abused the fee waivers as a personal patronage system, buying loyalty to themselves at taxpayer expense.

Now totally scrapping the system means a really needy group asking for a minor amount of less than two thousand for a charitable project will lose out, too. And there are a few pricier annual events which benefit the city as a whole.

Each CM should have been given an identical cap all along.

Super. Now the poorer communities will have to pony up big $$ to hold their community-building events.

Huizar was one of the biggest abusers. Just read the council files and all the event waivers he allowed huge corporate sponsors to take advantage of. Helloooo ELA parade, Broadway Fiesta (100,000), Eagle Rocks thousands, his friends in El Sereno thousands

Huizar and Hahn have been the worst.

She's often had fifty grand in a day.

They should tally up who's spend what and dock them, give them a garland of shame, or the Bitter Bernie Sour Apple Award. Then give them each a modest budget so people aren't cut out completely from a few really good events.

Sure, Bitter Bernie may not be the biggest spender on fee waivers, but his dissing the cops right after May 1st for being racist for years, is part of his campaign against them which has cost dearly in law suits, recruitment problems, etc.

And now, he's getting Wendy and his co conspirators on the Budget Comm. along with some others not bright enough to see what's going on, to actually back Bernie. Even Smith, who'll do anything to pinch a penny even if it's spiting the voters on the trash-tax-for-cops they want.

LaBonge wants more cops, hard to see who stacks up where so far. Weiss biggest supporter of the cops and LAFD, as head of Safety. Can't believe Bernie is actually getting so much support from some CM's who sat back all year wasting money and now want to punish the cops.

Yes, it's true the cops have "already spent the budget," as some said -- but they were never given as big a budget as they asked for and needed in the first place.

We're lucky Bratton decided to stay instead of dumping those fools for another city that appreciates him.

But, no one could have noticed anything without the staunch leadership of our Hero, ZD, himself.

Dowd drops in for a nightcap and claims to have invented this solution to the problem.

We all know that our local hero, ZD, himself did this all on his own.

That Midget Mexican Mechista Mayor just copies him totally and tries to take the bows for ZD's original, out of the box thinking.

He's the quintessential dummy.

Three cheers for ZD, long may the Dogg live.

have you noticed that matt is becoming more and more unhinged since he's going from lawyer to lawyer, from pillar to post, trying to get someone to represent him in his weird lawsuit against the city/us taxpayers for not being able to peddle his junk on public areas of Venice beach, in direct competition with the stores which are forced to pay rent, taxes, etc.?

He and hunt are claiming persecution based on skin color now so, as a white Australian, he's shown up in City Hall wearing White Face to make his "point."

Yeeaaah, like him and zuma, dey be da ones dat iz makin da diffawence

matt, by the way, it IS obvious you were a smart kid once upon a time, as you told the council a couple of weeks back -- you are smart enough to do what you want, as mum would say.

But you have no common sense. Give it a rest, step back and think.

While you are thinking, Matt, go book a one way plane on Quantas and when you arrive, throw another shrimp on the barbie.

How about taking ZD with you?

A fair amount of folks in this city would toss in some ha'pennies to see the lot of you gone somewhere else. Anywhere else.
