*****BREAKING NEWS***** Academia vs. KABC's Doug McIntyre tenatively dismissed by judge

With Marcos Aguilar in the audience, a judge tentatively dismissed Academia Semillas del Pueblo's "Hate Lawsuit" against KABC Radio and morning host Doug McIntyre.
Academia was seeking damages for what they call "HATE SPEECH" by McIntyre. Speech they contend inspired bomb threats against the Charter School in El Sereno. It was these bomb threats that provoke McIntyre to issue a $1,000.00 reward, which stills stands.
The sage of Academia, Principal Marcos Aguilar and McIntyre became the buzz of Talk radio and the bloggersphere when KABC Reporter Sandy Wells was assaulted by Ramon Flores outside the school.
Comments by Marcos Aguilar spread like wildfire on the airways and Internet. Spirited debates on this blog and elsewhere brought attention to the issue of ethnic politics and their place in education.
With this tentative ruling what will be the ramifications for Academia Semillas del Pueblo and Marcos Aguilar ? How will this affect their quest for a new school site ? Further, how will the likes of Monica Garcia, staunch Academia supporter, be affected at the School Board ?
For talk radio, how will this shape future discussions on controversial issues ?

What's bigger than Academia itself is that they're funded by this group:

nclr.org/content/affiliates/detail/937

That group complains about "extremists", i.e., those who support our laws.

The school is for the kids of illegal immigranta. Why are we spending 1 penny on a school for teaching future mechistas which want are going to part of the reconquitsa movemnent

The midget mexican mayor and the head of this school are old mecha brothers. Schools are for teaching engish and U.S. history not the history of ignorant Aztec indians who were involved with human sacrafices.

7:51... Screw your version of justice for illegal immigrants! You illegals jump across the Canadian or Mexican border demanding U.S. citizenship, yet fly the flags of your home countries, and refuse to assimilate! The only justice illegal immigrants deserve is a one-way ticket back!

As for the "great" drunk Villar, he has shown himself to be a two-timing s.o.b. Soon, he will be known as a two-timing one-termer!

7:51, you're exactly the kind of racist and mechista Red Spot talks about in his post just after yours.

Teaching English and U. S. History is racist? You're not just racist and here to steal our money to use to steal our culture, language and history, you're the reason there will be more and more backlash against the Mexicans and Salvadorans who until now have been quietly learning and assimilating into our culture.

By suing McIntyre and getting your Mechista message out there, you're your own worst enemy. Keep at it.

Just goes to show the Mechistas who actually get money from LAUSD for their schools, overriding the Cal State curriculum which they call "too Anglo and irrelevant to Chicanos," are so extreme, people THINK they're joking when they're not. It's hard to believe they're out there not only saying this stuff, but getting full support from people like Alarcon, and probably Huizar, Reyes, Cardenas too? And what does Antonio really think -- is he for assimilation, or separation? He made people of all ethnic groups and colors root for him as "the Great Uniter," so I sure hope he meant it. Actually with the way he was attacked by the Latinas over his divorce, they're sort of pushing him more into the mainstream. I think.

What a lame coward Doug McIntyre has turned out to be. He never should have offered a reward. Nice PR move, OJ. Grow some balls.

Doug was making an appropriate comment that bomb threats are a crime but free speech is not, and we must as a society know the difference.

Nothing he's quoted as saying in the Daily News is racist -- he talks about how poorly rated the school is, and wants to know if they're teaching a Reconquista message, and the whole truth about their glorious Aztec and Mayan ancestors, with their human sacrifices and all. Believe it or not, many Mexicans and Central Americans who full well know those things are true and celebrated down there as historical fact, deny these facts here in the U S and claim they're made up by racists.

These mecha types loudly denouce our language and culture, call us bland gringos and anglos, as though we have no history, tell us that the schools we're paying for are too "anglo" and "Eurocentric, and irrelevant to Chicanos" then call anyone who asks what they're doing with our tax dollars racist.

Can you imagine if the Chinese and Japanese and Persians and so on and on all did the same wit trying to turn our PUBLIC schools into their madrasa-type schools? These people teach their kids their own culture on weekends at special schools at their own expense, as it should be.

Calling everyone who calls them out on what they're doing is what is really racist and anti-free speech.

And I don't even listen to KFI.

The school has been approved by LAUSD to get another $7 million, despite being the lowest performing school in the whole district!

That's way more than all the fee waivers (about double) that the Mayor is so intent on cutting in totality.

There are some 50 La Raza charters in California -- outrageous use of taxpayer money, especially when the vast bulk of taxes come from the middle and upper middle class whose kids often can't attend local schools because of this anti-anglo, anti-English attitude and radical anti- Americanism.

Most people naively think the money they're spending for the kids of these illegal immigrants are going to help them assimilate, but their nobel intentions are being subverted against them and our society and culture as a whole.

The most extreme of these Mecha types are on YouTube actually saying that "If anyone is going to be deported from this country it's you," that is, "you gringo," because "we were here first and this is our country."

"If you don't like it, go back to Plymouth Rock, this is our country" is another one of their taunts.

What exactly did these illegals build and leave for society? What would we have if if weren't for the gringos, with their dreadful English legal framework and horrible Eurocentric learning?

We'd be spared the horrors of Einstein's physics or math or literature or culture.

Mecha schools like Semillas do so poorly in part because they emphasize their phony, sanitized version of Aztec/Mayan mythology and math, denouncing what the rest of the world teaches as standard.

good thread, but if you talk about education, you must know the difference between school sighting, and school 'siting'. its a big difference, and the spelling is critical.
