Montebello native, Robert Urteaga is heading to victory in his bid for City Council.Urteaga, former Campaign Manager for ex. Councilman Nick Pacheco was tied with Kathy Salazar out the last update. The top two vote getter's will win seat on the council.

POLITICS OF SPENDING:
Mayor Villaraigosa and the "KENNEDY REPUBLICAN" are calling on their respective jurisdictions to slash spending. Yet both are pondering new revenue streams of spending.
Candidate for Los Angeles Mayor, Walter Moore was just on KABC Doug McIntyre's Show. He highlighted how Mayor V. is misleading voters when he states that the Phone Tax will be a tax cut. In really, the tax will spread into other areas that were previously untouched, ie. the IT sector.

Having lost an incumbent Councilmatic race (first in decades) then a race for D.A., he now wins one (having dumped the unsuccessful candidate that was causing the losses)that no one really wants anyway.

...Escalating a dispute over police hiring, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said any cuts in his goal to expand the Los Angeles Police Department "will come over my dead body."
"I cannot overstate the importance of fully implementing the city's police hiring plan to build the Los Angeles Police Department to 10,000 strong," Villaraigosa wrote in a letter to City Councilman Bernard Parks, who chairs the council's Budget and Finance Committee.
"I will veto any effort to place an arbitrary cap on police hiring."
