Hmmm., could that be one Councilman Bernard Parks, aka, "BITTER BERNIE" ? Since ex. Mayor James Hahn took his Chief Badge away from him. "BITTER BERNIE" has been one continuous manic episode of resentment, towards all things LAPD. If he can't lead the "MEN IN BLUE", then why let them have more officers ? Witness his latest "MANIC EPISODE" which if not treated, would raid the "TRASH FEE FUND" to offset the cities looming budget deficit. (Click photo for "interactive Bernie")
****MANIC ALERT FOR THURSDAY**** The official portrait of ex. Mayor James Hahn will be unveiled in a City Hall Ceremony. No word yet if the portrait will cry out for a manic want of persona. BTW,one should post guards with pictures of the "Bitter Bernie" to pervent vandalism.
Manic, or shall we call it "ACTS OF MANIACS" ? Played out on the corner of Western and Slauson. A all female mob went "GANGSTA" leaving one women dead.
Hopefully tax payers will go manic over the cost overruns at the new LAPD headquarters site.
One person who may have a "MANIC EPISODE" in the near future is Fabian Nunez. Rumors out of Sacramento is that a certain state office holder may finance the "NO ON PROP 93" Campaign.
A certain "MOOO BOY" is going manic spinning his bosses monetary habits. But one would be manic in protecting his patronage.
Then there is the "MANIC POSTER BOY" that being the "POLITICO FORMERLY KNOWN AS ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA, tony villar. Rumors are abound on his manic episode in front of a staff of CRA staffers.
Consider this your "MANIC THREAD" to rant on those of your choosing.
This is election day. In Montebello, Robert Urteaga is a front runner for a seat on the City Council. Would victory drive some here (Meathead, and U) into manic depression ?

The real "DONE DUM" is you Sr. Red Burro, who has 3rd grade english skills.
No one would care if the mayor was blowing goats in private if he was doing a good job. The problem is that he is not. As with the current federal government, this mayor seems more enthralled with seizing more power than really solving problems. He is confusing short-lived political success with doing his job. He is so full of himself that he destroyed his family life and is destroying this city - all while he measures his success by the number of city agencies he can control as if this was some sick game of monopoly.
The city budget is in shambles(and its going to get much worse), developers are running the show, traffic is worse than ever, and our ability to cope with a disaster was laid bare last week when a crane blocked 4 lanes of the 405 and gridlocked West L.A.
That was ONE CRANE on ONE FREEWAY.
No one has heard the mayor talk about a proportionate increase in first-responders as development and population increases.
Instead, we have a past chief suggesting that we raid the garbage tax which was FOR police to fix the problems created by this city council and this mayor.
Instead, we have phony phone taxes and DWP taxes hidden as rate increases.
This batch of "leaders" just better hope that our Katrina (earthquake) does not happen on their watch. Of course, Arnold may come to their rescue.
Enough with the personal BS on this forum and focus on the issues that will make L.A. livable or unlivable in the future.

SACRAMENTO -- The field was set Monday for an election to fill the state Assembly seat vacated when Laura Richardson was elected to Congress, with the Democratic primary featuring two candidates with close ties to organized labor and friends in high places.
The special primary election Dec. 11 for the south Los Angeles County 55th Assembly District seat is a match between Carson City Councilman Mike Gipson and Los Angeles Community College board member Warren Furutani.
Gipson is endorsed by Richardson and a host of state and local elected officials, while Furutani, who is on leave from a job as senior consultant to Assembly Speaker Fabian Nuñez, has the backing of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, a potent force in a predominantly Latino district.
Gipson, 41, works as an area organizer for United Teachers Los Angeles, but Furutani, 60, has won the backing of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor and several local unions.
"This race has split labor," said Jaime Regalado, executive director of the Edmund G. "Pat" Brown Institute of Public Affairs at Cal State L.A. "It's nip and tuck, too close to call."

** POIZNER MAY CLOSE DEAL WITH ANTI-TERM LIMITS CHANGE CAMPAIGN THIS WEEK. I’m hearing that California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner, the super-rich Silicon Valley inventor of technology to track cell phones, will reach and announce an agreement with the campaign to defeat the term limits change initiative on California’s February ballot, Proposition 93.
Poizner said during the Southern California fire crisis the week before last that he would take personal charge of rebuilding efforts. So presumably he won’t have much time to play a role with the campaign, which is being spearheaded by a controversial DC outfit called US Term Limits, whose longtime head was indicted for fraud in Oklahoma.
On the other hand, it may not take that long to write a check. Poizner’s consultant Wayne Johnson is reportedly serving as a media consultant for the No on 93 campaign. Poizner would like to run for the Republican gubernatorial nomination
Wish Bernie was so fiscally concerned when it came to Gloria Jeff and her settlement/ payoff. If he and the other black members hadn't said it was a civil rights issue in the first place, that would have been more responsible. Didn't the Ramparts scandal happen on Bernie's watch? Isn't that why the LAPD is under so much scrutiny? Making it much easier for our city to LOSE LAPD lawsuits, since that all starts in the court of public opinion.
Before that, there was of course Gatesgate, Furman and "Can't we Just Get Along" cause of the riots.
Look at the history of LAPD to appreciate where Bratton has it now. But Bernie's role wasn't exactly a big help, as I recall.
Plus Bernie attacked Bratton in Council chambers right after the Msy first Mellee, basically convicted him and the LAPD before the facts were even out. He showed some video trying to prove the LAPD biased against the black community. This all helped set the tone against the LAPD right from the start, and has encouraged all the lawsuits for racial pretexts. He's always right in there supporting any lawsuit filed by anyone black.
Now he wants to micromanage the dept. on overtime and having to go to court to defend themselves against these kinds of suits. But most of all, he is showing contempt for the taxpayers who approved the trash tax for more cops, period.
Homeowners and NC's from West L A to the West Valley are demanding their fair share of cops, and are paying the bulk of trash taxes which were approved for this purpose. It's like Bernie is spiting not only the LAPD but the community to make them conform to his bidding.
Perfect how this photo shows Parks buttoning his jacket as he stands up to speak. He's so fastidious about his appearance it's funny.
bitter Bernie and his controlling, no class wife need to spend more time in church actually praying and putting them to action. they always pretend to be church going people yet Both of them have more venom and cut throat words for anyone who supports Bratton or Hahn. It must horrible to wake up every day and be mad at the world. Don't employees and electeds have the best medical benefits so Bernie can go to a psychologist to find out why he just can't move on.

What happened to the Kucinich Cheney impeachment post? Was that based on false information? There is some talk about Cheney on CNN.
Kucinich the Little Mouse should stick to talking about his UFO sightings: something he knows about.
Maybe he can impeach Bernie. They're also still talking on CNN about Rudy running on Bratton's record, but how his ego was too big to stay in the same town with him and he took credit for Bratton's efforts.
Sounds like what Bernie is doing except Bernie is not even a Rudy, he's nobody on the national scene.
The Kucinich motion was kicked over to the Judiciary Committee. It's still moving - but where to is the question.

88% on Daily News say hellll noooo. Very surprised Daily News would put up a horrible photo of LAPD in riot gear. Please don't tell me they're getting like LA Slimes. Poor Bernie, you gotta feel sorry for a guy who was humilated to the entire city and instead of learning like we all do to move on and do a better job he just keeps being the vindictative fool and newspapers write horrible opinion pieces about him. Bernie is going to get thrased by mark Ridley Thomas then he'll really be an asshole to live with.
1:20, taxpayers did NOT approve the trash tax for more cops! The trash tax was approved by 16 "taxpayers" - the council and mayor.

The way Bernie is acting, one would assume in the event of an emergency, he (Bernie) might call 4-1-1 to ask for the number for the 9-1-1 operator.

Speaking of people on this blog running for office; Has anyone noticed matt dowd's increasing meltdown on Ch 35, with him and hunt always badgering the Council about their lawsuit vs. the City?
Dowd says he's running for City Council or Mayor, too. Other days he and hunt show up in white face claiming it's all about pushing the black people to a segregated part of the beach. Still other times dowd uses the f' word and gets slapped down. totally losin it
