Mayor Villaraigosa celebrates Mexican Independence Day
When looking for material to "BLOGGIN COMMENT" on, Eastern Group Publications does not normally top my list of sources.But one must give them credit for their coverage of this past Sunday's East L.A. Mexican Independence Parade. In the story linked below, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is reported to have been cheering up the parade audience who sat through the heat, with chants of "Here we are, were not leaving".
Now the "OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET", aka, Los Angeles Times would of surely glossed over the comments made by our Mayor. after all, pandering comments by our Mayor are the daily norm.
But what does it say about Mayor Villaraigosa when he highlights a single ethnic group, especially in a time where ethnic tensions are at a high level ?
let me state that, contrary to some of you in this corner of the political bloggersphere, there is nothing racist in highlighting the Mayor's comments. Some who bless us with their open hostility to all issues "MEXICAN" (MIDGET MEXICAN POSTER), "muddy the waters" of dialog, when dicussing issues of immigration and race
Sadly, for our Mayor, instead of being a leader for a unified Los Angeles. A leader that upholds all laws, regardless of implications on certain racial groups. Must lower himself to the worst of pandering. That being racial pandering.
In closing, if Mayor Villaraigosa wants to revive his sagging political fortunes. Then remember that "KEEPING HIS COMMITMENTS" and upholding the laws of our city, state, and country should be of paramount priority, regardless of racial implications.

Man jailed in rapes shaking `safest city'

Two women raped at knifepoint in their homes in the dark of night stood by Thursday as sheriff's deputies announced they had arrested a man in the attacks that sent jitters through this city, long considered one of America's safest.
Adrian Arriano, 29, twice deported to his native Mexico, was arrested about 4:45 a.m. Monday, identified as a prowler who had tried moments earlier to break into a Newhall woman's apartment.
"We believe she could have been the next victim," sheriff's Capt. Anthony La Berge said at a news conference.
Arriano's knowledge of confidential details about the rapes in January and March and about a related case in June, when a woman fought off her attacker, was key in linking him to the crimes, La Berge said. DNA and other evidence is being processed, with results due in two weeks.
Arriano - also known as Andres Gomez - was formally charged Wednesday with a single count of burglary, pending further investigation, said Sandi Gibbons, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. His bail was increased from $50,000 to $1 million, with his arraignment set for Sept. 26.

(1) Villaraigosa shamelessly panders to each nationality as if just doing so was a substitute for solving the issues thast most middle class humans care about.
In a society where all ethnicities are increasingly colorblind, his pandering ultimately serves to remind us of our differences, rather than bringing us together.
And it does nothing to solve our problems.
(2) The other mayors who fed their bases fed bases that were American citizens. Antonio is trying to GROW his base by getting more Hispanics to be citizens. THAT is the problem. It is NOT the same as a mayor of Atlanta hanging with his fellow African-Americans. It is treason. These illegal immigrants are lawbreakers with an affiliation to another nation.

What's this Mexican Independence Day about, anyway, when we already have to celebrate Cinco de Mayo? Even the Mexicans don't know what THAT means, except they have an excuse to drink a lot of cerveza and tequila and dance.
Actually, it "celebrates" shooting the hapless Austrian Archduke Maximilian, execution-style, who was the puppet of Napoleon and President/ ruler of the Mexican Republic. Max's wife ran around to all the courts of Europe begging someone to come and rescue him, since he was in jail and harmless for two years prior, but no one cared enough, so she went mad.
That is a pretty pathetic thing to "celebrate."

Let's examine who is pro-Mexican truckers:

Latinos with class, morals and education don't celebrate El Grito. Its for the illegals and the people who say they're Latinos from Mexico. They are not us. How embarrassing at yesterday's city council meeting when you had Rocky, Antonio, Huizar Reyes, Alarcon and Cardenahes representing the Latino leadership in this city. Those are the worst men to rep us. For starters not a single one has any class or style. They all look like they are from the ghetto, some have had their hair dyed, teeth whitened. The only women attracted to these losers would be domestic violence victims who have low self esteem. Every one of them has done something corrupt as a politican. But I am also pretty fed up with the Hispanics on the Council just praising other Hispanics, and I was offended when the Mayor apologized to the assembled when he mispronounced a word in Spanish: "That's what happens when you're born in Anerica," as though being born in America is second-best and something to apologize for.
Yet these people want to shove the Aellanos down our throad because they gave birth to a kid here (and stuck us with the bill, no doubt).
I wanna see these people do more for other people around the city.
So on the rare occasions the Mayor does dance with the Jews, Greeks and whoever, I'm glad he's at least trying. You never see Huizar, Reyes or Alarcon even pretend not to just be for their cholos.
