Dancing through Los Angeles with Mayor Villaraigosa

To poster # 10 on the Tennie Pierce Thread.

This is your Mayor at work. See what happens when your Mayor calls for a "TOTE". Or was he thinking of a "TOKE" from his youthful days in "NORTHERN BOYLE HEIGHTS" ??

Needless to say, our "ENERGENIC MAYOR" is doing what he knows best. Pandering to the masses with symbolic acts (or dances), Substance be lacking

Sigh.

Don't you people ever get tired of this one-note stuff?

Red Spot/Antonio, Ed Boks will be Mayor or C/A before Herzberg, and Jim Hahn can't raise five bucks a plate at a pancake breakfast.

Give it up.

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen (removes hat and bows low with flourish):

Sots, have you ever heard a song played upon the wireless that reminds you of something or someone? For some reason that I cannot explain I, if you will, upon hearing that song "Irreplaceable" by Ms. Beyonce Knowles (i.e., "To the left, to the left. Everything you own in the box on the left...") always find myself thinking about the soon-to-be ex-Mrs. Villaraigosa, savvy? (Takes sip of rum and ponders lyrics to song) Yes, I would wager that this particular song is rather fitting, wouldn't you agree?

Speaking of dancing, His Nibbs is going to have to do a rather fine dance amongst the swords himself if the two proposed DWP rate hikes manage to make it through the Clowncil. Seeing as though we've all managed to suffer one rate hike only to see the monies go elsewhere other than the pumping station at Pyramid Lake, I wonder how receptive we will all be to know that THIS TIME the monies requested will actually go to fixing facilities, savvy? (Whispers) It will be interesting to hear the Clowncil's arguments given they enthusiastically gave a "thumbs up" to the prior rate increase, savvy?

(Does dance moves across bow of Bon Mot's Yot) Oh bugger, I can't seem to get that silly song out of my head. (Sings) "To the left, to the left...." (Winks and says conspiratorially) You know, if that damned fool keeps moving to the left and taking all of those bloody sots with him, perhaps the ship they are on will overturn. Remember a few weeks ago I mentioned the conversation between the three sots about the ship being rudderless? (Makes sculling motion with hands and dances) "To the left, to the left...we go around in circles when you pull to the left...", savvy?

(Winces) Bloody hell, I've put out my back trying to dance. (Sits down and watches video and strokes chin thoughtfully) Dancing? I think not, sirrah. Looks more like the ballet of the damned to me.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen (tips hat) NO, I did not mean that the people dancing were damned!!! I meant His Nibbs, savvy?

(Puts hand to forehead) Oy! I'm hocking my chinek which for a goy like me is truly the ballet of the damned, savvy?

And a very happy New Year to my next door neighbour Mrs. Keffelbaum who is not my mum but fills in for her quite nicely, savvy?

(Yells) Yes, goodnight Mrs. Keffelbaum. I'll turn the laptop off and go get in bed to rest my back. No need to call my Mum. And no, I'm not drinking hard liquor.

(Pirate crew snickers and Captain Sparrow glares at them before retiring for evening, muttering under this breath)

Ahoy thar, Cap'n! 'Twas not a few hours past I was stroking me chin wondering whar thou didst disappear to!

Aye, methinks thou hath spoken well of the predicament our Oedipus mayor hath placed himself into. Methinks rather he mayest be dancing amongst swords and bidet brushes, ain't?

Cap'n, I didst indeed come to that thar farmers market - 'twas at first I bethought me eyes didst deceive me! Whar indeed was that Sandwich Island prairie chicken bazaar? I didst come away with mexican wrap arounds stocked with Ben Franklin's birdmeat, and some'at Arctic-style sweet milk.

Mayhap the Sandwich Island prairie chicken bazaar returneth soon?

Nice to see you Red Spot!

You came back with a vengeance, eh?

And Capt. Jack, thanks for making me laugh out loud.

Okay, I looked at this video and I listened to the music and I'm pretty sure the melody was the rarely performed "Dance of the Joyless Jew Polka" -- which would explain why MAV had such a pained expression on his face the entire time.

Either that, or it was the "What The Hell Am I Doing Dancing Around With This Wireless Microphone In My Hand And A Kippah On My Head Polka."

But I'm pretty sure that's a Country tune, so...

He does a better job than the Fiddler on the Roof would do dancing a salsa or the Macarena.

No, actually, the Macarena would work well for the Fiddler on the Roof. And he would grin whatever he dances.

The Mayor must be trying to follow the dance steps here, because he always grins. Grins too much, some would say.
