Are you for real?

The best government money can buyJust when you thought local government couldn't become any more of an unresponsive monstrosity, comes the story of Stephen Bainbridge via this morning’s LAObserved. The poor guy wanted to build an addition to his house but was informed by the Department of Building and Safety that his house does not exist.

I was speechless until it occurred to me to ask why, if our house doesn't exist, we have to pay property taxes and so on. The answer? "That's another department."

Naturally.

Back to being speechless. I then recovered enough to ask what we had to do to have the existence of our house established, which I thought would be a simple process - after all, you can see it on Google Earth.

But, Google Earth would fool no one at LADBS.

I was told we would first have to have a hearing to determine whether the street that runs in front of our house is a public street or private road. Given the backlog, it would be about a year before that process could be completed. Then we'd have to have another hearing to establish the existence of our house.

Good luck Stephen. If it’s any consolation, I was told my entire street doesn’t exist when I called 3-1-1 last week for graffiti removal. Google says it does. Hate to say it, but that whole Google world domination thing is looking better and better.

P.S. Stephen, just build the damn family room. Permits are so twentieth century—and besides, government has more important things to worry about—like fighting the Global War on McDonald’s—than to care if your house collapses like an Indonesian mud hut.

A decade ago I tried to prevent a house from being built without a sewer permit, and knew they didn't have one because every neighbor refused an easement. The city said that since the house was already there they couldn't force anyone to tear it down -- but papers filed to build had never been acted on, so there was no house. So they put in their septic tank against the law.

This was in the Silverlake hills.

We readers want to know why matt dowd is filing suit against the city and going around wearing out of character suits, with Carol Sobel of all people who we all know is falsely accusing the police of going after and attacking "people of color" on May 1st and has recruited hundreds of them to sue the LAPD and City.

She says the cops are liars when they state the obvious, that there were agitators who started the trouble, and some threw bottles at the cops, pulled one off his bike.

She wants all of the troublemakers, including the agitators, to join in her suit. She says she wants to get THOUSANDS of people suing from that one day, one hour really.

How can matt, mike hunt and zuma be such hypocrites? Even if some of the corporations building downtown WERE shady in their affordable housing schemes or anything, (which is just wild speculation) at least they're doing something and adding to the profile of the city.

What matt is doing, the phony game he is playing (no wonder he looks so smug these days) is unbelievable and anyone who doesn't call him on it on this blog, is two-faced too.

deport the illegal aliens

Son of immigration activist leads DC rally
Boy's mother was deported to Mexico. Demonstrators also gather in L.A.
By Erica Werner

WASHINGTON - An 8-year-old boy whose mother was deported to Mexico led a chanting crowd of about 150 pro-immigration activists through the halls of Congress on Wednesday. Capitol Police arrested two demonstrators for disorderly conduct.

Saul Arellano and other children carried a banner that read, "Born in the USA. Don't take our moms and dads away."

The boy's mother, Elvira Arellano, was deported last month after taking refuge in a Chicago church for a year.

Using that poor little boy. Isn't that child abuse? Who's looking out for his welfare not the damn illegals. Tomorrow all the illegals will be on the steps of city hall with Antonio, Huizar, Reyes, Rosendahl and all the idiots who support illegals.

The Daily News blog on the anti-gang tax is hilarious. Most is ripping the moron council members we have. No one seems to respect this group of losers out in the streets. You gotta read the lines

....Call to Action ! When the City Clowncil, uh I mean City Council meets to vote on this turkey, you can be sure the L.A Bridges crowd will be there in mass to support it. We who oppose it need to show up earlier than they do, take up all the seats and leave the Bridges knuckle-heads out on the sidewalk to squeal and moan. Let's defeat this turkey !!

Look what Antonio is telling the crowd of illegals. What an asshole!!! Two faced bastard. I hope John & ken KFI get on his case. This was at ELA parade.

...Politicians and community leaders were part of the celebrations as well, greeting the thousands of spectators from convertible cars, among them, L.A Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who, with microphone in hand, cheered up the crowd screaming “Aqui estamos y no nos vamos!” (Here we are and we’re not leaving!).

Villar's audience of professional Marxist circus freaks continues to shrink . . . but he doesn't take the hint.

Maybe he knows “Aqui estamos y no nos vamos!” is not the slogan of a future governor or president and has accepted that his career as a politician is over.

After he has finished ruining LA, will he return to his roots as a shrieking radical socialist? To be continued . . .

"Your house does not exist, but you must pay property tax" Well, just do like the illegals - screw laws, permits and taxes - just do whatever you want!

I just read something at Luke Ford that the homeowners around Motor were going to have the stop lights set to change every few seconds to keep the riff raff from driving through the area and creating traffic problems...

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

It has all gone beyond madness!! The world is almost over ... judgment soon!!!
