The Poor Pay for NIMBYism
Union dominated towns like San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York apparently have the juice and enough NIMBYs to keep mega-retailer Wal-Mart out of their towns.
One writer thinks that Wal-Mart could approve its shrinking bottom line by giving up its fight against the company's left wing critics and give into their unreasonable demands. Of course he acknowledges they'd have to raise prices to do so, but hey, its Wal-Mart's low income customers who will have to deal with that, not liberals who refuse to shop there because of their "morals."

Thanks for the compliment, Mayor!
Now please explain what demands of Wal-Mart you consider unreasonable.
Living wage? Health Care?
And even a corporate kool-aid drinker, such as yourself, must be able to
see wal-martfacts.com for the Orwellian style double-speak that its name clearly states.

Just let the Chinese shop there.
It's all Chinese goods anyway.

Mayweather no doubt. De Le Hoya will fold again in a big fight while cashing another huge paycheck.

See Joe B is total hypocrite. He says he is fighting Home Depot because its a bad project planning wise but in reality he is a union hack.

NIMBY's are a thing of the past; they have been replaced by BANANA's.
Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything.
(I have MY place in paradise, now let's pull up the drawbridge!)

"Paradise" ?! No such thing in LA unless you live in Arnold's neighborhood. Around here it's more like PARADISE LOST

12:22 am,
Living wage and health care concerns make you a "union hack"????
You sorta got it right, I am in a Union. It's called IATSE, not really
a corporate busting machine, but you do get to hang out with lots of starlets.

The liberal hatred of Wal-Mart is nothing more than snobbery. These elitists look down upon the ordinary people who shop there. They claim to support the working poor, but they would love to deprive them of the place they can buy stuff for their families dirt cheap. They'd also be very surprised at the number of Hispanics who shop there.

Wages and benefits of others are none of your business. That's between the employee and employer. If you don't like it, don't shop there. But don't use the government to force us to do what you want.

I normally could care less what an employer pays an employee or provides for them health insurance. In the Wal-Mart case though, the underfunding of healthcare and the low wages drive many employees to seek state relief through medi-cal and other public assistance programs.
These programs happen to be funded by your tax dollars.
There is no excuse for the world's largest retailer not being able to provide for its own.
