MayorSam, are you going to extend the same privilege to that 12 year son of immigrants who got his ass beat by some of "L.A.'s Best." Oh I forgot, as a member of the immigrant community he doesn't deserve such rights. Afterall, those immigrants and their offspring aren't human anyway. Keep them off this blog and add to their dehumanization - a la Lou Dobbs. Aferall, this strategy has worked before. It worked for Hitler against the Jews and ironically now it is working for the Jews against Palestinians and of course, it is now working for Cheney against young Muslims all over the world. I mention Cheney because Bush likes us, heck we are almost family, que no George Bush III.

But most tragic of all is that this exactly why slavery was justified for centuries. And ironically now it is theses descendants of slaves - what's that Black homeless crusaders name? - that aim to start some PR race war that could never possibly be victorious - in battle, especially in a democracy, numbers always prevail, take a look around and listen to Chief Bratton more closely.

It is amazing what tragic evilness we humans are capable of when others are dehumanized.

Wake up Mayor Sam, your smarter than this. You weren't raised in some backwoods, hick town. Be more worldly, like your home town.

That privilege will be given to that alleged victim as well as any others when they face a very sympathetic City Council "task force" and has been extended to them for the last several days by the news media.

What hasn't been heard is the story of numerous police officers of all colors and ethnicities who are being maligned due to the bad behaivor of a bunch of hooligans, most of him don't even represent the otherwise good people who happen to be illegal aliens.

And you are silly. This has nothing to do with Hitler, slavery or any other red herring you toss out.

Mayor Sam,
What we fail to see is innate gorrilla tactics illegals atempted to use against LAPD. If this was a peaceful demonstration why then did illegals provoke, hit, cover their faces, disobey, and promoted communism at the park?

Mayorsam,

Dehumanization has nothing to do with Hitler and slavery? Gee Mayorsam, your revisionist view of history is tantamount to your revisionist views of the events on May 1st. It doesn't matter if those hooligans detonated a car bomb, the camera does not lie. The tactics of our professional police force was born of a vindictive, hate filled philosophy that needed to vent. And in front of the world, vent they did. I wonder were they got this idea that beating on 12 year old Nexicans was justified? What kind of dehumanization training is going on in Elysian Park. Conscious dehumanization is the problem here Mayorsam, and unfortunately those that advocate and embrace such logic are only in denial - a denial that will take years to accept, remember Governor Wallace?

Next time the City should allow the crowd to do as they wish (burn, loot riot, beat each other).
Dont send the police in and see what happens. The same people whining about police abuse right now will be whining about the lack of police action. You cant have it both way folks. Also if you dont like it, leave LA.

Nextel and Mexico have merged. Hence, their employees are called Nexicans.

Was this purported "12 year son of immigrants who got his ass beat" an anchor or an illegal?

I think you are wrong on this issue Mayor Sam, and I think you will eventually realize it once you become aware of the totallity of the facts. From reading your posts, you are an intelligent, thinking person and well capable of changing your mind if shown you are incorrect.

Anyway, for now we know that some of the initial factual information was not correct......

There were 30-40 agitators in the crowd, not 100.

The video images by the media did not included those agitators. However it did include the police using force on non agitators.

There was a media safe zone created by LAPD media relations(not by Rampart Command staff, which was on scene and was supposed to be in charge).

Metro officers ignored that safe zone.

Chief Bratton stated there were inappropriate actions.

Now a Metro officers states likewise. From todays Daily News:

But criticism is emerging within the ranks that Bratton's emphasis on gang suppression has compromised the platoon and left the department inadequately trained in crowd control.
"I have never seen such a decline in training in the 12 years that I have been there," said a Metropolitan Division officer who asked not to be named because he said the unit was ordered not to talk to the media. "It was failure of training. There were young police officers out there. There was a breakdown."

So your argument, as I understand it, is that police cannot possibly perform crowd control in a legal manner?

LOL

Media polls are showing strong support for the officers. Reporters need to ask why Carter was demoted and not Cmdr. Gray who is a black and simply moved. Why wasn't Assit. Chief Paysinger getting into trouble since he's operations and in charge of all patrol. He knew what was going on because it was being reported to him. Why didn't he go there? John Mack and Antonio are protecting him cause they don't want to piss off the blacks. Antonio already did that with the Tienne Pearce case. Paysinger should be demoted and transferred out to.

In the media coverage the 7 officers injured got lost and the anarchists who started the whole mess. LAPD call in BLUE FLU. When there's another protest call in sick. Don't go after crime, let those numbers go up. Let the gang bangers do as they please. Its not worth your career and your families to get sued for criminals. Wave and smile and we'll give you the thumbs up. Don't join LAPD. Go to Beverly Hills, Burbank, Santa Monica where you much more appreciated

It is simply unjust that Deputy Chief Lee Carter was demoted. And I heard that he resigned today.

Why did Bratton do it? Because Antonio attending Mahoney's Mass on Sunday and picnicking in MacArthur Park didn't take the pressure off the Mayor. So he had to have a head on the platter -- and Carter was picked. Carter is an outstanding officer; he is well respected and a decent, good man. The fact that he has put in over 30 years of service to the City of LA meant nothing to Bratton and Mayor V. Why couldn't they have put Carter on administrative leave while an investigation was conducted? Answer: Because Bratton is way too cozy with the Mayor. And the Mayor wants to spin everything to appear that he is the hero. What Bratton and Mayor Villaraigosa did to Deputy Chief Carter is cowardly. It has cost the City a fine commanding officer. And it will eventually cost the City a lot of money. It should come out of the Mayor's pocket.
