Zuma Dogg predicted it and he was right. Just as they got rid of #1 rated host Mr. KABC, it appears the boneheads at KABC have cancelled the top rated "Red Eye Radio" with Kevin James. James announced Friday morning this was his last show on KABC.This leaves Doug McIntyre as the only decent host left on the station, and the only one who covers Los Angeles issues with any depth - regardless if you agree with him or not. One wonders if KABC, who may have bowed to pro-Villaraigosa forces in removing James who was often quite critical of the mayor, may be setting it's sights on McIntyre next.
Other than McIntyre's show, it looks like I will be listening to KFI instead.

I just caught the end of the show and was quite surprised by the news. He did leave an email address: heykevinjames@aol.com. He said that people could email him and he would follow up with any news. He went out with class telling his listeners to keep on listening to KABC and also said KABC brought him together with his listeners. I thought that Kevin James, though quite intelligent, had a one track focus on the immigrant controversy, while "Mr. KABC," had a broader perspective even though he became focused on the electrical Power Crisis several years ago.
What a TRAVESTY!
I heard Kevin's announcement and he just said that his contract was not renewed. It was a shocking announcement but not surprising! Kevin was the MOST VOCAL, anti-Villagrossa guy on the air! In fact, before his shocking announcement, he re-played Villagrossa's famous phone call on election night ...when Riordan was on Kevin's show...you know, the phone call where Villagrossa was drunk and HUNG UP on Kevin when Kevin asked him why he he supported Special Order 40! Villagrossa was so drunk he was slurring his words and practically incoherent! But those words were memorialized on Kevin's show!
Kevin might be gone temporarily, but HE WILL BE BACK! And we will not forget!
Kevin, if you are reading Mayor Sam....Please think about running for public office in LA!!!!! We need a new mayor sooner rather than later, and you would be an ideal candidate! You have all the qualifications, but most importantly, you are AN AMERICAN HERO!
If Villagrossa thinks he can silence us by having KABC remove Kevin James from exposing the TRUTH...he better think TWICE! WE WILL NOT BE INTIMIDATED!!!! WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED!!!! WE WILL GET RID OF EVERY TRAITOR IN CITY HALL!
This is a real shame. I'd like to see Kevin replace Mark Levine. Let's hope another local radio station is smart enough to snap Kevin up and put him on when non-insomniacs can hear him.

Kevin James is a fantastic host! And if he has a "one-track" focus on the "immigrant controversy" (translation: one of the few voices of reason that opposes the biggest problem facing LA --massive ILLEGAL immigration that is turning this city into the third world) GOOD !
Has there been any offical reason provided for not renewing his contract? His bio says he has the highest-rated overnight show in LA. I hope he stays local, hopefully to KFI in a better time slot.

Yeah, there's alot of pressure on KABC from corporate Disney. Maybe they would have renewed Kevin for overnights, but moving him to an 11pm start time, might have been more pressure than Disney could take. (Especially since I think they are selling the radio division, and may have had to do some house cleaning first, before the sale. (that's all speculation on ZD's part though, so don't hold me to it.)
It WOULD be good if Kevin popped up on KFI, but if not...I think the guy will be making a lot of national apperances on the talk show circuits and will probably fall into something even bigger.
The guy is such a great guy on and off the air. Not that I know him THAT well...but he's talked to me off the air a few times to offer me some good advice on some things and it just comes across on the air as well...it IS a HUGE loss to the city, but will only be temporary, and i think the whole country will be getting to know him better, too.
From a guy who spent tweleve years, or so, in the national radio industry, it doesn't surpirse me AT ALL that KABC blew it with Mr. K and Kevin James...It would have surprised me if they DIDN'T.

Doug MacIntyre is one of the most intelligent voices on the air - if they get rid of him, they are idiots and I will have no reason to ever turn to 790 (unless Larry Elder's on).
By the way ZD, those Thornton condos look just awful down on Venice Beach. I called Rosendahl's office and told him so, urged him not to let the whole oceanfront walk go condo.
Do NOT even think about taking Doug McIntyre and Rob Marinko off the air! No way! "McIntyre in the Morning" is the gold standard of talk radio. That show should be syndicated. It is informative and hilarious.

I am so disappointed not to have the pleasure of listening to Kevin James red eye radio. I cannot stand the replacement slot and soooo my radio will no longer to tuned to KABC. KABC will not be able to replace a personality such as Kevin James.

It seems to me that KABC came out with a mission statement on the air a few months ago, saying that their main purpose was to battle illegal immigration. Not being afraid to speak up. What happened to that? I have great respect for Kevin and Mr. K. I am tired of the "reconquista" bull. Wars happen. Countries and peoples lose. By their logic, should we give Mexico back to Spain? After all, Spain lost and Mexico became a nation. England lost and we created the great nation of America. Would the King be granting the illegals free welfare and medical benefits? If you want a better country, go back and fight and put your lives on the line like our ancestors did, and as our soldiers do every day. The scuttlebutt around Los Angeles day laborer sites is, Mayor Villaraigosa refused to clean the toilets at the KABC station untill management removed Kevin James from the station.
Hey Mr. Villaraigosa, it's been almost a year since you told America that you cleaned our toilets. I e-mailed you the following day inviting you to come over to my house and clean my toilet. You never showed ! Don't worry, I cleans my own toilets just like I mow my own lawn.
On his poignant last KABC broadcast, Kevin James could not have handled his untimely exit with more grace, intelligence or poise. I,for one, am already missing his vital input on KABC. I am totally shocked and really miss Kevin James and his intelligence, passion, wit, timely pauses and sense of humor. It's apparent he was a good prosecutor and a STELLAR talk show host! I had loved Doug when he had the spot, but Kevin, you won me over and made the night this extraordinary, activist, adrenalin raising experience.

Why is Mark Levine on LA Radio? KABC had good programing going from Rantel to KABC to Kevin James. Levine is a nothing - adds nothing to the LA seen. Local radio needs more Kevin james'.

Who is this Mark creep who started this whole thing by taking time away from Mr. K?
He is loud, overbearing and has nothing for us locals. He just rehashes what we have heard all day long only louder and in an obnoxious manner inserts his own spin. Eeeuuuu.
Mr. K was one of my very favorites because he touched on many different subjects and took all calls. Some of his calls were hilarious which is sadly missing now. Best part was at the end of his program you were guaranteed to learn something we never knew before and you never knew what it would be.
Kevin became more informed as time went on. He gave us inside information about our city plus his insight on immigration gave us good reasons why we need to take our city back.
KABC seems to think that there is a late night audience out there that they want to capture. How crazy is that? There are only so many people who will be up at those hours and choose to listen to their radios. The weird folks who love KFI late night are not going to leave. I guess KABC thinks that the repeat of Tilden will catch some people who don’t want to listen to a repeat of weirdness but you can’t call in to a repeat of Tilden. Besides stuff happens around the world late at night and Kevin gave us the latest up dated events that were happening at the time. All Live All Night was perfect.
Sooo we, the devoted listeners, are tossed aside to make room for more Mark Levin!? Someone’s head isn’t screwed on correctly. We miss you terribly Mr. K. You were a real treasure and Kevin just topped off our night. You can trash Levin in my opinion.
Will give Tilden a chance but so far his interview with our Police Chief was lack luster and offered nothing but an opportunity for the Chief to blow his own horn. Guess Tilden is now on the Police Chief’s good guy list if that was what he wanted. I would rather hear a more insightful interview then a campaign speech about the Chief and his buddy the Mayor. If Peter doesn’t know the state of the City then he should bone up right now!

Don't let KABC 790 get away with what they did to Kevin James. Call the director of programming at (310) 840-4912 or send them an e-mail to PROTEST. Kevin James program was A+! It was absolutely shocking to hear Kevin James announce a programming change. It was so unbelievable I had to search the web to make sure it was true. His program was hot! Kevin was a former attorney/prosecutor, the show had integrity, his legal background made it most interesting, and entertaining. Out of respect for Kevin James there is no way I will listen to Tillman. Listening to Tillman will just make me miss even more the Kevin James program.
Our federal government's prosecution of Brugman,Ramos,Compean,and Gilmer was interpreted by most citizens as a real message to our border patrol agents not to do their jobs well in stopping illegal immigration and drug smugglers. KABC 790 silenced Kevin James and that in turn silenced the citizens just a little bit more in our country on grave illegal immigration issues among other issues at a time we needed more Kevin James not none and this could only have sent a message to the other radio talk show hosts not to cross the line or you are next.
Regardless if you listen to KABC 790 or not this station needs to be PROTESTED because all the rest of our pro-citizen radio talk show hosts will be at risk to one by one by one picked off and silenced just like Kevin James to eventually leave citizens without any media representation. I will continue listening to Al Rantel and McIntyre (and Lou Dobbs CNN); otherwise, KABC 790 I am channel surfing!

I am saddened that Kevin James left KABC. He is bright, informative, passionate, kind (Lisa Marie…), funny and interesting. I never called in but feel badly I didn’t get to say good-bye. I wrote into KABC last week and told them what a gem he was – and to give him a different time slot. I was happy the week he was in the 10:00 p.m. slot, hoping he would be the regular host.
Mark Levin’s shtick is insulting and tiring. One hour of yelling and name-calling was too much, two hours is insufferable. I switch to KRTH when he’s on. I guess I should start checking out KFI or KRLA. Do ABC programmers ever listen to him? Are the east and west coast audiences that different? Do east coasters really find this guy entertaining or insightful?
Doug McIntyre, Kevin James, and Al Rantel consistently speak out against the brazen lawbreakers flooding our country, sucking up our resources, destroying our schools, hospitals and prisons. Doug is the wittiest, most well-read and intelligent man on radio. (I wish he’d do podcasts so I could listen to him on weekends.) Al Rantel is also a good guy although his Catholic-sniping is tiresome. Hopefully, Kevin’s dismissal isn’t a portent for these remaining two hosts who voice their (and my) opinions.
I’m a forty-something, female, conservative, native Angeleno whose family came from Mexico LEGALLY 90 years ago. I changed party affiliation from Republican to American Independent last year because the Republican Party is selling out our country’s borders leading to the destruction of my beloved City of Angels. I take particular delight in sending pesos to the GOP every time they request money (thanks to Doug for that suggestion!).
KABC’s shortsightedness will be another station’s gain. Kevin has a bright future ahead of him; I wish him success and look forward to hearing where his new home is so I can follow him there. Let’s hope he’s up against Mark Levin. ; )

On our government's website is a travel advisory for Mexico because there have been 1,500 drug-related violence deaths in Mexico this year! Executions-style murders with decapitation, balls cut off, and ice picks used to leave messages on the dead as drug cartels fight for control of the U.S. 65 billion dollar drug trade per Lou Dobbs Tonight. This is sick! June 1st SPP will open all U.S. highways to Mexico trucks! Stop SPP!

I really miss The Kevin James Show, Kevin's show was Talk Radio at it's best. AM radio just isn't the same for me, Kevin's show was hands down the best on the dial. Someone bring Kevin back.

Is there a correct email address to send to Management at KABC? I tried bill@kabc.com webmaster@kabc.com even petert@kabc.com (to ask him what direction he wants to take the Illegal Immigration issue in). He's a joke compared to Kevin. All these emails come back to me as undeliverable mail. Any help on email addresses for KABC would be greatly appreciated. I even called that 310# and left a message of complaint.
I'm a long time KABC listener. I am a fan of Doug McIntyre and Al Rantel, but my favorite was Kevin James. Kevin was so interesting and kept us informed, I enjoyed his passion on the illegal immigration crisis this country is currently facing. I turned on Peter Tildens show several times. All I can say is Peter's show is boring! What a waste of air space!

I was only able to speak to someone the 1st day Kevin James announced the programming changes I contacted KABC 790: 1st person didn't know anything about it and said they would have to check with programming. 2nd person confirmed it and told me to contact the programming director at (310) 840-4912. 3rd person picked up the line for the programming director and I complained! Every business day since it has been message only and I leave one! Looking at the petition list, I suspect there are many, many very unhappy listeners contacting the programming director about this totally lame decision. Snail mail has its value nowdays as well.

If I could afford $485.00 per hour, I'd rent an airplane banner and have them fly it over KABC until they rehired him. Like so many listeners, I'd wake up early just to listen to Kevin and then transition into McIntyre. I am so sad that he is off the air that I feel like leaving flowers and a poster "We want Kevin!" in front of the KABC 790 radio station!

The Walt Disney Co. said it will sell its 22 ABC Radio stations and network to Citadel Broadcasting Corp. in a cash and stock deal valued at $2.7 billion.
The transaction gives Disney shareholders about a 52 percent stake in a new company, called Citadel Communications, which combines Citadel's stations with Disney's ABC assets. The deal does not include Disney's ESPN and Radio Disney network.
The transaction gives Citadel 177 FM stations and 66 AM stations in the country's top markets, making it the nation's third largest radio group. The complex deal is structured to be tax free to Disney shareholders.
Disney also reported higher earnings in its first quarter despite a plunge in profits from its studio division.
The media conglomerate said net income rose to $734 million, or 37 cents per share, in the quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with $666 million, or 33 cents per share in the same period last year.
Revenue rose slightly to $8.854 billion from $8.666 billion in the same quarter last year.
The current quarter includes a one-time gain of $70 million, or 2 cents per share, related to the sale of assets.
The results of 35 cents per share after the one-time gain beat estimates from analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial, which had expected earnings of 30 cents per share on revenue of $8.791 billion.
Disney has said for more than a year it was looking to sell its ABC radio group. The company said Monday that owning the radio stations was not important to its core goals of creating popular shows, using new technology and expanding internationally.
"With this merger we have a unique opportunity to offer Disney shareholders ownership in a new radio leader that will be well positioned for long-term success," Disney Chief Executive Robert Iger said.
Citadel CEO Farid Suleman will lead the new company.
Disney will borrow between $1.4 billion and $1.65 billion, using its ABC radio holdings as collateral. It will then either spin off or split off the stations in a transaction - depending on market conditions and other factors - that would require Disney shareholders to swap shares for shares in a new entity.
Disney would then merge the new, temporary, holding company with Citadel in a transaction that is structured so Disney shareholders won't have to pay taxes on the sale. The debt would then be transferred to the new entity.
The rest of the value of the deal comes from Disney's share of equity in the new radio company.

The powers that be wanted to expand Mark Levin to two hours. They brought Peter Tilden in to replace Mr. K, but the handwriting was on the wall as far as trying to save $$$ on the overnight show. Raw deal for Kevin, and one that the management of the station agonized over, as he is well liked and regarded for his work. Thats radio!!! When I was on KRLA....my show was dumped for an infomercial for Cigars!!!! Jeez.

Actually I feel something more is up with KABC! Why would KABC get rid of Mr. KABC? He had a such a large following and was so popular for so many years. A good suggestion but with all due respect all U.S. radio stations should be the right place for a Kevin James! Kevin's program was top-rated and people woke up early just to listen to a program talking about what citizens are talking about, concerned about, and what the majority of citizens supported so his removal in my opinion was pure censorship. My radio is off too. Kevin James is sorely missed. I don't understand how people can listen to shows about flying saucers and Big Foot, all night on the other station. I tried listening to Peter Tilden, but it is so boring! I use to like late night radio when Kevin was on, but no more!

Why do you think Rob Nelson sucks??? While Rob Nelson may not be a Kevin James, his program has called illegal immigration what it is illegal immigration. What sucks to me is anyone within our country covering up illegal immigration with words and phrases like migration, immigration, land of immigrants, and jobs Americans won't do.
Rob Nelson's program seems to have been very supportive of America and Americans. Rob Nelson did an interview with a former border patrol agent that was just revealingly great. Rob sucks? Why? You got me scratching my head on that comment! Did I miss something?

Rob Nelson my first sense of his last show was just as you stated supportive of America and Americans.
First caller said all of the Illegal’s the ones that are breaking the law need to be sent home
And then said except our housekeeper she has been keeping our house for 15 years
And now can speak very good English we can’t send her home and Rob Nelson agreed.
And the next few callers had about the same story or view as the first caller and
Rob in-between callers was saying well what if we make them do this or do that
Then can they have amnesty I started asking myself what side is Rob is speaking for
Perhaps the first caller and the options Rob was offering in-between callers
Got my blood heated or I was reading Rob the wrong way.

Hey, KABC 790 Al Rantel is on and his program is fantastic tonight talking about how Sen. Harry Reid is forcing the Senate Amnesty bill out onto the floor check out grassfire.org and Mexico trucks being allowed access to all U.S. highways and this deal can start this week or next week with a 14 day test check out Teamsters and if nothing bad happens they are in for a year which really means forever because they will displace U.S. workers. Sorry, trying to listen and type at the same time. Turn it on it is a great program tonight!
If you want to know a great host listen to Terry Andersons , Sundays from 9:00 P:M till 10 P:M on 870 KRLA, Terry tells it like it is, and has said on the air , I don't know why no station will not give Kevin James a job.

Thank goodness for Al Rantel, Doug McIntyre, and (surprise?) Hannity who recognize the bile in Comprehensive Immigration Reform and for rallying citizens to stop it. We already have laws and if we can't enforce them we won't enforce this Comprehensive Immigration Reform bile to the destruction of America, Americans, and the jobs Americans will do. Our government needs to show us, yes show us the American citizens us, that they can enforce our laws and enforce our laws for more than 1 day! I agree Elder and O'Reilly are a disappointment. I sure do miss Kevin James. Thank goodness for Doug McIntyre and Al Rantel being on top of this Amnesty scam, the senate is trying to push on us. I was surprised that Sean Hannity is on the right side of this issue too. So is Rush. You're right about Kevin James being a great American.

Let me offer a dissenting opionion about Kevin James's show. Sure, illegal immigration and border security are important topics, but that's ALL he ever wanted to talk about. His show got to be monotonous and boring. I'm glad KABC dumped him. Peter Tildon's show is far more entertaining.

If he is so hot, you wouldn't need to leave your poison post attempting to malign our Kevin James. It is just shocking to think we would wake up early for a Tilden. Waking up early was a ritual for Kevin James with a voice that I can say was just enjoyable with clarity and a generating conversation that was facinatingly interesting to listen too with his attorney background. He should have been promoted into national syndication. Kevin James was great , Illegal Immigration represents every problem America has, as far as Peter tilden goes , he's not good enough for any radio station, let alone a big radio station like KABC.

Watch the infamous Hardball interview that Kevin James did with Chris Matthews and then try to claim a conspiracy theory that Villagrossa got him canned. HE GOT HIMSELF CANNED! This is exactly the same sort of action that was taken when Tucker Carlson's show got cancelled by CNN because of the Jon Stewart incident.
To Anonymous who brings up the Hardball case against kevin: "Are you so envious of Kevin's near perfectness that you have to find one flaw to criticize him?" So what? He didn't happen to know a particular historical fact. That man knows so much more than you probably ever will. Kevin has the natural talent, and natural good moral character that you probably only wish you had or ever will! Realize that you really do admire Kevin despite his being human once in a while to prove that he isn't a Super Human after all!
