Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Thursday

The city budget is in the works and its not a pretty picture. Revenues are down and more money is needed for public safety to fight growing gang crime. Of course, city officials want tens of millions of dollars for "anti-gang" programs. The best anti-gang program would be more police, more prosecutions and to hold parents responsible for their kids actions. Oh, and deport criminal illegal aliens currently in our jails.

Like Robin Hood robbing the rich to give to the poor, the LA City Council wants to increase the amount of money private property owners must give to relocated residents when the property owner decides to stop renting to them for whatever reason. When housing is expensive enough, here's another dumb move that will just drive up the cost of housing even more. Is anyone awake over there?

Do they have their own Westside White Guy in the 661? A big tussle in Santa Clarita between those who live in tony, unincorporated Stevenson Ranch and their neighbors to the east in the lower end City of Santa Clarita community, Canyon Country. Stevenson Rancherians are facing annexation by the bigger city and wondering what to do. Some of them fear being tied to a city with rising crime. If Los Angeles' swallowing up of the San Fernando Valley some 90 years ago, we highly suggest residents of the Ranch resist the urge to merge.

Hahh, another quote from Walter's favorite "economist." Orlov must have this guy on speed dial:

"The city is not going to be getting as much (from residential housing), and the retail sales tax is down also," said Jack Kyser, chief economist for the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp.

Bravo to Daily News for having the guts to print the truth.

...The reason for that is simple: Bratton is doing a good job. That's something few at City Hall can claim, and certainly not the City Council, which has done so little to face L.A.'s real issues.

While Bratton can boast that the streets are safer, the city keeps losing good jobs, traffic congestion gets worse, overdevelopment keeps on ruining the quality of life, and City Hall keeps spending more than it has, robbing the public of vital services.....Unlike the city's elected officials, Bratton isn't trying to win a popularity contest. He's trying to make the LAPD a better police department, and provide security for nearly 4 million people, not tiptoe around the tender sensitivities of do-nothing politicians.
But with the chance to confirm or deny Bratton a second term as chief, we challenge the council to stand up to him in public because he had the temerity to suggest last summer that some of its members "don't know what the hell they're talking about."

RIGHT ON DAILY NEWS.

Mayor says we have a deficit and everyone has to cut back yet he and Laura Chick N Shit fail to audit the abuse of gang programs that we all know is scamming tax payer dollars. He wants to give them more money. How stupid is that? A leader would fix the problem first then figure out who deserves more money.

What about doing an audit on the special event waivers Zuma has been hollering about for a year? Another example of abuse. Why do some council district spend way more then others? How much political payback are these special event waivers to huge corporations?

Now if only Bratton would lobby to get rid of S.O. 40 and sanctuary city policies.

Laura Chick N Shit was on Channel 35 acting all proud saying what a great job she's been doing as the public servant of the people its her job to keep an eye out for waste. HHHEEELLLLLOOOOO Doesn't she read newspapers where they all reported gang members are buying restaurants and paying their families high salaries with money the city is giving them. If Laura runs for Weiss seat word is already getting out to ask her why is she ignorning the abuse and not doing anything about it.

I would suggest to Stevenson Ranch residents that they fight annexation. Eventually, they can lure more businesses to Stevenson Ranch, and then incorporate as their own city. Castaic is dealing with somewhat the same issue.

People in places annexed while Fletcher Bowron, Norris Poulson, and of course, Sam Yorty, were mayors, ultimately came under the rule of Tom Bradley and MAV. Ugh!

Fight the annexation, folks, your descendents will thank you for it.

Special Order 40 is the worst thing to ever hit Los Angeles.

Where is the ACLU now? This order is blatently unconstitutional.

A city cannot order officers, who are sworn to uphold the law, ALL THE LAWS, to ignore one.

Walter, you're a lawyer, why don't you bring the suit, with ZD as the Plaintiff?

That ought ot get both of you elected. You can be Mayor and ZD can be President of the City Council.

Just imagine how great a city we'd have then...
