Is Huizar's Home Simpson/Alvin Parra mailer the funniest thing ever?

The Homer hit piece is probably the funniest in years, but Steve Lopez of the Times deserves most of the credit for nailing the befuddled wanna-be queen-ho pimp Alvin in a prior "take over the school board" fire sale of his own wife.

It's still one of his better columns.

It is funny but you have to remember, Alvin was acting under the direction of Parke Skelton at this time. While working at Gloria Molina's office, Alvin faxed his memo from that office to Parke Skelton's office. This type of behind the scenes dealing goes on all the time, Alvin was just stupid enough to put it in writing and then sending it out. It was one of Pacheco's people - remember Pacheco used to be tight with Gloria and her people - that got a copy and exposed this. But this was a Alvin/Parke fuck up - Alvin was not acting alone.

That's parra-bullshit spin. Skelton isn't the "kingmaker" everyone pretends he is. He's a spinmeister that keeps politicians on message. There's no "Karl Rove" there.

Even if he was, then Parra is too incredibly stupid a patsy to ever work in the public sector.

Yes, that's just so much bullshit.

Parra's wife was running for school board at the time. Why would Pacheco's people give a shit what Parra was trying to do with Eli Broad on a different playing field?

And Pacheco and Gloria Molina split badly, years before any of that happened.

That's not just bullshit spin, it's too transparent to survive any scrutiny.
