Pugliese also has the endorsement of the L.A. Times -- but don't hold that against him.

Write-in Art Snyder? Someone's pulling both our legs.

Snyder was nearly recalled twice and ended up as a slimy lobbyist gun-for-hire who not too many years after leaving office got hit with one of largest fines in state history for campaign corruption and vote buying among former council buddies and colleagues.

Is that what "Red Spot" stands for? Happy to look the other way to gross, unapologetic corruption like no one has seen since -- as long as he fills the potholes (on the streets of his supporters)?

People who knew Snyder also knew he had his own wonderful "Red line" of reason for how to spend council discretionary funds - simply put, ignore the poorer (browner) neighborhoods, thay can't contribute to my campaigns and most of them never vote anyway.

Every CD14 councilmember since Snyder has been worked against a deficit of infrastructure improvements in the southern 2/3 of the district to make up for this over-attention to the gentrifying northeast.

May Art Snyder rot in hell. (Not soon, let him live in misery for as long as he can with his 19th wife, but . . . someday). He will, no doubt.

Red spot is very helpful in continuing the GOP caricature of being mostly intolerant, corrupt, self-serving cronies. The "spot" is a welcome addition to the out-of-touch "good 'ol boys" blog that Mayor Sam's has now become.

You are who you idolize. Art Snyder? Jesus H. Cristo, why not just go with Strom Thurmond!

1120 why are you so afraid to sign your name?

Let's see, by my count, Cordero gets at least four (4) votes.

That's probably four more than anyone thought he'd get.

You guys really like pissing into the wind, don't you?

Keep at it; one of these days you'll actually back a winner and someone will listen to your antics during your three minutes in heaven.

Hell, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

Interesting that none of you have the guts to endorse a candidate for CD14? Why are you afraid? Zuma has been ranting what a great guy Alvin Parra the crook is, yet no endorsement. C'mon where are your balls??

Sorry to give a shock to your ticker. What would you say if I advocated for Richard "SNORTOTORRE" ? You would of taken fingers away from keys, insert one finger into nostral, and have a snort in his honor. You need to understand "SATIRE". Yes, Snyder was a big crook and he deserve his jail time. But he did know how to handle his public. So lighten up and laugh every once in a while

Signed "anonymous"

hypocrite!

(Snyder's slimy past is public record, look it up. And I left out some of the nastier parts.)

Caught you Redline of Sleazon!

Now you've got to pretend it's a joke to get away with it. By "handle" I assume you mean selectively better constituent service to richer constituents and bribing public officials.

Even beyond the "satire" you're still holding him up as something good for the district "at least he . . ."

"At least Mussolini made the trains run on time!" (But what were the cattle cars full of).

If you're that cynical about public officials, to have a little "joke" about re-electing one of the last and worst of the smoke-filled room, screw the public, corrupt machine politicians of the modern age, then don't bother commenting on local politics.

People who still give a shit will pick up the slack, and you can write "Alfred E. Neumann" on all your ballots, and forget to affix the postage stamp. But don't encourage others not to vote, because YOUR choice will never again win on the Eastside.

HOLD THE PHONE.

After months of prospecting . . .

Attempted LAUSD school board candidate Scott Folsom, who didn't finish filing for Tokofsky's seat and is an outspoken opponent of mayoral takeover of LAUSD has weighed in on the Parra side. He is a Mt. Washington Neighborhood Council board member, too.

His pro-Parra reasoning. He has kids in LAUSD and his wife is a teacher (wasn't that half of Villaraigosa's campaign last time - educator by marriage?)

Parke Skeltone's been putting out mailers filled with hundreds of names of community leaders endorsing Huizar - saying Alvin Parra has no community leaders willing to endorse him this morning, but just this morning, 2 days before the polls close, Alvin got one!

"I am only going to weigh in on one city council race: VOTE FOR ALVIN PARRA IN CD 14.
Alvin has kids in LAUSD, his wife is a teacher; maybe it would be good to have someone with those qualifications on the city council? Ya think? Incumbent Jose Huizar left the school board mid-term and ran for City Council based on his record as President of the LAUSD Board of Education ...and hasn’t stopped bashing the District since! If it is a failing district as he claims he’s got to take some responsibility for the failure. Huizar has said he was forced against his better judgment to support Measure R – yet duplicated the duplicity in supporting Measure L. Now, according to David Z’s article in the LA Weekly (below) he not only fudged on building permits for his house, he may have played a little fast-and-loose with the residency requirements for his school board seat — as in: He didn’t live in his district! Sooner or alter we need to hold elected officials to the same standards we expect of real people in real life. Sooner would be good.
Please, don’t take my word for it; instead make the city and the school district take YOUR word for it. VOTE!"

Onward - smf

"REDLINE OF SLEAZON"

Has a good ring to it, must of thought that line out over a cup of Autigua Coffee. Go back and read the post. Humor and coffee do mix.

I believe you mean "Antigua" and I try to stay away from El Snore-eno, since you never know when Alvin Parra might try to take over the community by force again, like he did the neighborhood council. He's ordered some little cardboard tanks with training wheels and green name banners on the side for the next coup.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen (removes hat and bows low):

So the small yet damning thing has made itself known. Sots, do not take Scott Folsom for granted for even we pirates have had dealings with him. Mr. Folsom is no fool and his opinions carry weight.

Oh, and sots? One more thing. The numbers that were posted yesterday reflect the opinions of those polled, NOT THE CQ IN ITS ENTIRETY. So please take that into consideration when deciding whether or not I am in fact, if you will, a barncacle sucker. And of course, no prediction made here as to who the winner will be. But it will be interesting nonetheless.

I think you need to do a google search for the word, "satire". It says, "See Red Spot in CD 14".

Even ZD can see that.

CD14 won't be interesting. It'll be sad, even for those who dislike Parra's track record of gutter-snipe political tactics that even make Skeleton look "clean" by comparison.

No, more than sad. Watching Pacheco get kicked down a second time in 2005 was sad. This will be semi-sweey tragic. Local news TV will stop watching the race in CD14 as soon as the polls close, it will be so one-sided.

What will be interesting is seeing all the brain-dead commentators on this blog spin the tops of their heads off trying to explain why they spent SO much time talking about Alvin Parra, and actually he coulda been a "contenda".

He's a PRE-tenda!

First the spint will be that he was defeated by "big money" and "developer money" (but how does that explain that Huizar hasn't made a single developer sweetheart deal with anybody from p in CD14 in 15 months, despite getting big buck for both his last two campaigns?) In fact, he's kicked back at several harder than AV did?

Then it'll be, "OH, Huizar has them all fooled" by last minute press stunts (but how does that explain that these are the several hundred of the most city-politics savvy community people in the district, including dozens that backed Pacheco last time?)

Then the spin will be you can't beat an incumbent in L.A. (But what about what happened to Pacheco?) And, get real, 15 months barely makes you an incumbent.

Point your pointy little heads toward the ground, and least when all the spinning is done, all the movement will have helped you dig you own graves.

The good news for the peeps in CD14, is that Parra won't be transferred to any more field offices to waste any more tax payer dollars.

"Real men" don't google search the meaning of 4th grade vocabulary words.

They pay attention in school.

They read books.

They already know the meaning of basic words like "satire."

That was "ridicule" ZD, Google that!

11:58am,

You win. You are sooo smart. And know where to choose the battles. It's this type of combative mentallity that prevails throughout the "fear based" City Hall staff and elected officials.

And 11:44am, don't make the mistake of coming on too strong in the Parra bashing and Pro Huizar agenda... you're gonna turn people off. You're being like Linda Lucks.

You know what, this blog isn't eight billion campaign signs posted illegally throughout the City in violation of election law, like Huizar and Yoli Aguilar did. This blog isn't trying to reach voters.

Don't come off like the evil dictator that won't even let the people have a crumb of bread. Tony Robbins would caution you against this tactic. It's bad for rapport.

You are turing Huizar into an "emeny of the people". Your are forcing people to side against him, because of your portrayals...and forcing them to combat your combtiveness. And people just assume it's a paid Huizar staffer, because who else would give a sh*t the way you do? Dude...and we ALL know who it is...Your reactions to people's discussion of CD 14 isn't the type of natural response your regualar joe would have. (From a "profiler" angle. I've spent waaaaay too much time in the market research/focus group department, and I'm here to tell you 11:44am, your posts are not that of an average, passive observer, like the rest of us. You are clearly part of the camp. Duh?

Zuma said this.."And 11:44am, don't make the mistake of coming on too strong in the Parra bashing and Pro Huizar agenda... you're gonna turn people off"

That's exactly why Parra's campaign has backfired. Instead of taking the high road, he once again played dirty politics and attacked Jose. Alvin never stated how he would help CD14 or stated one single accomplishment. Instead we all know he was fired from every single job he's had. Jose may not be the top of the line candidate but between the 3 he'll do better and at least is waking up.

Zuma so seem somewhat knowledgeable as you keep telling us about marketing. Why then can't you get a job making a six figure salary with all your experience?

Because ZD only owns one outdated, worn out marketing book, that he's refrenced here 50 times.

Buy a new book, most modern marketers have moved on. That one's in the bargain bin at Kmart now.
