Outsourced Campaigns

Remember the flap about whether or not Tony Villar's campaign website was hosted in CD14 (its not, its hosted in CD3 as we discovered).

We couldn't find easily find his re-election campaign website (if he has one) but according to LA Ethics Commission, so we don't know if its in the district, but Councilman Dennis Zine's campaign operation is not only not housed in District 3, its not even housed in the City of Los Angeles.

Committee to Re-Elect Dennis Zine (ID:1258759)
601 S. Glenoaks Blvd., Suite 211
Burbank, CA 91502
Telephone: (818) 260-0669
Fax: (818) 260-0657
DOI: 09/29/03

By the way, you can buy www.denniszine.com for $500 here.

Good job Mayor, but i think this all started cause i pointed out the "recall folks" who claim to represent CD14 are letting outsiders from Scottsdale AZ do their dirty work. Antonio is running for Mayor so his webserver is fine as long as its in the city of Los Angeles.

But to be consistent, Dennis Zine should be held to the same standard as the "so called recall folks". Anytime out of state outsiders using their money and influence using homeless folks/activists to be their front men for a political ploy i can't help but be disguested.

I agree that a recall effort obviously has to come from the area affected and can't just be outsiders.

That being said, its not really a big deal that the recall organizers use a hosting service in Arizona as its not that big a deal that Antonio's website is in Tarzana. And if the recall supporters are getting outside help, that's fine as long as its locals that are leading it.

However I can't believe that Denny couldn't find campaign office space somewhere in Reseda, Canonga Park, etc.

I agree mayor -- but the whole Scottsdale AZ item was merely just fun rhetoric on my part.

A campaigns website can be in China , and it won't affect anything -- but the scottsdale info is true, it was a FACT, and it may have thrown those crazy recall supporters for a tizzy for only a second if any.

This is a virtual debate, and if you are going to test your skills with me, do your homework.

For a moment I thought people were doing their homework. Just like I posted the LA Times endorsement for Meat everyone should realize that the address mis-identified for Zine's campaign is his TREASURER's. You know the people that file those long campaign REPORTS about who gives money and where the money went.

Good point Kinde -- i've worked on many of campaigns where your firm was the treasurer.
