There has to be a limit!
Interesting notes on the subject of term limits.
In one instance, the LA Times reports that Sheriff Lee Baca was succesful in having a court overturn term limits for the sheriff as decided by voters in a 2002 ballot measure. Of course, the County Supes have voted not to act on the voters' behalf by appealing the ruling.
This ruling does not impact a related but seperate measure which imposed term limits on the Supes themselves. Considering Mike Antonovich has been on the Board since Reagan was President and that Kenny Hahn served for like 50 years or so, the Board of Supes are the poster children for term limits.
In the meantime, George Skelton and others are urging elimination or reform of term limits, but the voters aren't listening.
