Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Friday
Repercussions continue from the cancelled City Council meeting due to a lack of quorum caused by tardy Clowncil members. The Daily News takes the Clowncil to the woodshed for showing "an implicit disrespect for the people the City Council is supposed to serve." Of course in a few short months the Daily News will endorse all these same incumbents.
The City reports that its new credit card parking meters are raking in the dough. Remember if a parking meter doesn't work it's no longer a free parking pass. You have to actually move your car elsewhere. Non-totalitarian cities in LA County such as Burbank don't hold you up for parking and don't even have meters.
Walter Moore says that Mayor Villaraigosa's threatened layoffs of city was all fake. Some positions were eliminated but the actual employees were just moved around elsewhere within the City. Speaking of Walter Moore he posted on Facebook Thursday that he is done trying to fix LA and wants to get the hell out.
Two LAPD officers who say they were wrongfully transferred following an allegation of sexual harassment are suing the department. Officers Blaine Blackstone and Teddy Gonzalez say that a female officers falsely accused them and are suing for $2 to $3 million each.
Valley business leaders are complaining that Los Angeles City Commissions have a lower percentage of San Fernando Valley residents appointed than their actual percentage of Los Angeles. The Mayor's office writes it off as seeking to have more racial diversity on the various panels that distributing them geographically across the City. Dennis Zine cites an apparent lack of commitment by Valley residents while soon to be indicted Councilman Richard "Zorro Marxist" Alarcon says that Mayor Villaraigosa has all but ignored his many suggestions of Valley based candidates for appointment. Of course maybe the Mayor thought Alarcon's nominees didn't actually live in LA.

Bravo Sharron Angle for nailing Harry Reid on "how he got wealthy on a government income."
Harry said it was a low blow, but he couldn't explain how he came to be one of the richest Senators in the U.S.

Here we go again! Another "Gate" scandal just before the election. Why can't we all just get along?

Sharron Angle: a Republican who opposes wealth. This should go far.

After raping the residents of this City, the Council ought to reduce the cost of parking. It is killing the retailers along the commercial corridors of the City. Idiots.

Right. But if it didn't happen, how can anyone doubt his veracity?

Why no mention of what happened on Item #34 in City Council yesterday? Matt Dowd RULES!

7:31am, you don't know shit about the subject, so I suggest you back off. It happens whenever there's no oversight.
Dig? Go get some caffeine.

I think the theme of the debate, 7:31 is like the Beatles song, "Hello, Goodbye."
If you can figure out another way to explain it, I'm all ears. Like Harry Reid.
Oh, and Harry Reid has HUUUUUGE ears, that even Obama is envious.

Hello? Waiting for an answer. 7:31 is right.

Hi 7:32am,
Saw it! If a politician echoed what Matt Dowd said, I'd vote for them in a heartbeat, especially if the other options is crook criminal Richard AlarCON or WHORE-SE WHORESAR.

Morning, Higby,
What do you think of the Matt Dowd comment from yesterday? Fucking wild.
Anonymous said:
9:42, I just wrote about it too!
Do you agree that O'Dowd has gotten better then zuma dogg lately? Zuma is sometimes funny but not the same when he's not in city council hall. phil needs to take a lesson about what kind of dedication is required to be funny, effective and man of the people, although zuma isn't really that much anymore nowadays.

Mulholland Terrorist is obscenely obsessed with Republicans.
Let us school you oh wizard of the word.
Angle was not slamming wealth. She was slamming Reid getting rich on the government dime as a sitting Senator.
Michael Higby said:
I too am surprised MT did not get that same point. Angle was knocking Reid for getting rich as a Senator. And he could not explain it.
Same thing happened with Clinton. He goes from Governor Arkansas with a $50K salary and doesn't even own a home and leaves the Presidency worth over a $100 million.

I didn't hear what Matt Dowd had to say. Generally I ignore the gadfly squad these days.

O'Dowd was huge the other day.
I think he is the #1 gadfly.
