Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Thursday
-The trapped Chilean miners have all been safely rescued after spending 69 days underground. A flawlessly executed rescue operation conducted by the Chilean government is receiving high praise from around the world. The rescue craft used in freeing the miners has been dubbed the "Fenix 2". It was designed and built by the Chilean navy, with some help from our very own NASA and based on a German rescue craft from the 1950's. Shockingly, San Esteban, the company employing the 33 miners, has refused to pay the trapped workers wages since the accident occurred, nor has the company contributed anything towards their rescue. Is that called protecting your bottom line? When the mining company gets ordered to pay up will Chilean conservatives call this a "shakedown"?
-Still lagging in the polls, Meg Whitman drops another $20 million into her campaign. Aw, who's counting at this point?
-For the last 10 years or so, there have been dozens of Medical Equipment Supply stores operating in the neighborhood. A wheelchair in the window, a locked door, and never a customer in sight. Evidently, business is booming! Video.
-Free the Cyclists! CicLAvia draws 100,000! Soon to be a monthly event?
- A Prominent GOP Ute sees the light, and immediately jumps off a cliff!
Labels: chilean miners, ciclavia, Jerry Brown. Meg Whitman, jim bennett, medicare scam

Great news from Chile, but nothing like good news if you happen to live in Venice and don't like human waste being dumped on your streets.
2 days in jail was what the judge gave the dumping duo, a lot less than the 90 days in jail City Attorney Trutanich demanded.
Venice NIMBYs will not be pleased with the outcome.

Odd.
Phil loves calling people "dangerous enemies of freedom," yet:
- he doesn't allow comments on HIS blog.
- he stays up past midnight on most days, but not today, in order to be the first commenter on other peoples' posts.
And you wonder why people are so hostile to this boob?
Michael Higby said:
Yea Phil why don't you allow comments? Someone should make a list of all the blogs that don't allow comments and we can shame them.
Anonymous said:
And note how much Phil loves commenting HERE.
And that ASSININE "We here at The Jennerjahn Report" crap, as if anyone else ever has anything to do with his blog.
Anonymous said:
Higby, do you have any handle on how much of what Phil says here about himself is true or not?
He did not go to the law school he claimed to have attended for part of one year.
Normally, when you're an alum of a school, you get an email account that you can use even when you're no longer at the school, provided that you graduated.
I sent an email to just such an account, and used both "Phil" and "Phillip" and both bounced back. I sent a note to the I.T. department at Phil's CLAIMED school, and they confirmed that
"noone" with such a name ever attended the school, having checked with the Registrar's office.
I think Phil is enamored with the idea of being an attorney that he claims to have been in a law school grad program at one point. But what he said about the given school just doesn't add up.
I may be the last person to realize this, but I think Phil Jennerjahn is something of a crackpot. Please challenge him on this, if you don't want to post this comment.

Look how the first commenter for Carmen the Clown manages to plop him into the top of a thread about the miners in Chile.
Gee, maybe just because "Trutanich demanded" something doesn't mean it was legally justified, or there was room in the prison relative to other criminals, or some real-world caveat: the Clown has from the start "demanded" and bellowed and then guess what, turns out there was no legal basis and as with AEG/ Leiwike, he had to actually grovel in apology!
Not to in any way condone dumping human waste in the street. These people need to be in trailer parks with water facilities available.
I don't know much about trailer park life but watching WEEDS this week, seems buying water for your trailer and taking it to a proper hook-up can be pricey, but if you can't afford it, doesn't mean you get to dump it in the street any more than you get to pull down your pants and go there directly.
These people need to be towed off the streets overnight if they live in campers or park them more than a night or two, something that works. Rosendahl wants to help them find a place with utilities, great, but only if it's from some homeless housing fund.
To those who say it's not government's role to help these people, I say, it's cheaper to help them access sewer hookups and water than build them new housing - the County is spending some $50 million to house 50 people, with "government efficiency!" If it's depression-era camps we need, so be it. Maybe we need to literally FACE the situation.

You talk about blogs not allowing comments, but what you do is even worse. You only approve selected comments, including today. And you for some reason keep allowing too many comments about PJ. There's really very little being offered here, anymore.

9:09,
All due respect, I think you're the very last person on this blog to realize that Phil Jennerjahn is a crackpot.
He is also a tool and a poseur.
What's odd is that he seems to be okay with notoriety, when most human beings in the civilized world try hard not to be notorious.
I guess that's what he means by his being "semiknown," although I can't imagine the benefit of that. Should he ever apply for a genuine 9-to-5 job in the private sector, there is an abundance of self-generated negative information on the web from his gambling to his odd, harsh views. I sure hope he knows what he's doing. I wish him well, but I don't think he knows how to make the most of it.
Phil Jennerjahn said:
Higby, I don't take comments at my blog anymore because it is too much of a drain of time and energy to read through 30 nutty comments from Mary every day.
She was stealing my time.
And I don't like wasting time defending ridiculous accusations. Like 9:09 a.m.
I attended Whittier College School of Law from 1994 to 1995. I did not continue the program and graduate because I didn't want to run up a student loan debt of over $100,000.
Just the first year alone cost me about 30K.

That way I dont have to read re-hash after re-hash about Phil. This is getting real old!! ENOUGH OF PHIL!!!!!

Phil, so you talk about WASTING TIME by handling blog comments, yet you WASTED A WHOLE YEAR OF YOUR LIFE not to mention $10,000s of dollars going to law school for one year without thinking it out?????
DO YOU SEE THE IRONY????
AND AS FOR WASTING TIME, IF YOUR BIRTHDAY CLOWN BUSINESS IS SO LUCRATIVE, HOW COME YOU WASTE SO MUCH TIME HERE ON MAYOR SAM????

He doesn't have a single credit on IMDB.
He just likes to play angry, white guy at city hall and on the web in the ridiculous notion that it'll ever result in him getting anywhere other than lat place.

OMG, I just saw something disgusting on the news. A Venice woman was mugged by a filthy Mexican gangsta in Venice.
She was trying to hold on to the purse because it contained a voicemail from her toddler daughter who recently died. Ultimately she fought off the filthy ILLEGAL mugger.
I blame it all on Phil Jennerjahn. JUST KIDDING! HIGBY, THIS IS A REAL STORY. GO LOOK IT UP ON CNN AND FOX NEWS.

There has to be more going on in LA than Phil Jennerjahn or Trutanich and the Weissholes right?
Anonymous said:
Yes, Higby, there is more going on in LA. We've had Housekeepergate, Whoregate, now there's Treasongate, according to the Daily Caller, a conservative blog.
Yes, Barbara Boxer and Henry Waxman (can you think of those two without heaving?) are about to have a lot of 'splaining to do over their assisting in the giving of $600k in cash of aid and comfort to enemy combatants.
Back in the good old days when liberal democrats were free to do anything to attack President Bush, these two left wing nuts requested 'diplomatic courtesy' for the Code Pinko mob to go over to Fallujah and hand over the cash to the insurgents who were killing US servicemen.
Both Boxer and Waxman used their official capacities to ensure the Code Pink operation to embarass Bush went ahead, and it seems they were 'OK' with $600k being given to the insurgents - it's the price of politics.
Let's hope this outrageous behavior is rewarded by finally ousting this pair of politcal deadbeats. Perhaps their chickens are coming home to roost.

Of course this is going to turn into a blog promoting or calling attention to the likes of Clowns Phil and Carmen.
With Walter Moore Berger's running mate, the guy we have to thank for inflicting him on L A, not far behind.

DO U LIKE BEING SEMI KNOWN BY JOE MAILANDER AS A CLOWN? HAPPY NOW?
Anonymous said:
In response to Phil's comment that he didn't want to take on $100,000 in debate for law school, I have to ask him this:
Phil, didn't you KNOW what the cost of law school would be BEFORE you even applied? You're telling us you attended for a YEAR and THEN realized the cost? Doesn't bode well for your judgement.
Also, even from a so-so school like Whittier, a high-ranking student from Whittier would make at LEAST $100,000 a year from a mid- to large-sized firm in Los Angeles.
I guess you weren't good at understanding the "rate of return" on an investment like that.
And finally, what does it say about you that you decided that it would be more lucrative to be a birthday party clown than a well paid first-year attorney. By now, if you had even slight success as an attorney, you'd be making no less than $165,000 a year.
Once again, your explanations hold no weight. As a member of both the California and Nevada Bar Associations, it's not a surprise that you didn't make it through Year One.
Those who can, do.
Those who can't, quit.
Good luck trying to unseat Tom LaBonge. He is awful, but you have no chance.

If elected are you not going to listen to comments from people and respond to them? That's worse than the group who are in office now.
If this Mary person is the only who you feel would comment on your blog, there must be something wrong with you or the blog that no one else wants to participate.

Well, my blog for one, does not allow comments.
It is a RANT WARBLOG. It is not now, nor was it ever meant to be interactive: meaning, I rant, therefore I am and quite frankly, I don't give a fuck what y'all have to say about anything. I'm merely presenting my take on different issues that capture my attention.
If I wanted the crazy opinions of Furries and Teabaggers, I'd open my lovely little ranting blog up to comments, but really, I'm bored to tears reading comments HERE from the same bloggers pretending to be other commenters, or from the same furry, or from teh same Eternally Last Place Candidate, why would I want to stink *my* blog up with the same horse shit? There's plenty enuff o' that here.
No thanks! Y'all have fun playing with yourselves!
Have a nice day!

Wow Michael. You're making the Baby Jesus cry with your un-Christian like judgementalness. Ha ha. I just cold made that word up like Sarah Palin.
Very Christian and compassionate of you. I'm sure Jesus is proud of you.
"Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble."
1 Peter 3:8
"So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother's way."
Romans 14:12-13
and this one is my fave:
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye."
-Matthew 7:1-5 motherfucker.

I don't know why he bothers with those other two, but as for me, I seem to be the only fool he knows who has been a vice president of a Fortune 400 company and the editor of an economics publication. Just because Phil is gone doesn't mean he won't be back, and doesn't mean people won't still comment about him.
Since Phil puts himself out there for public consumption, I think he is still fair game, and gather that those who are still interested in talking about him, will. You might as well indulge whatever people want to talk about, whatever that happens to be.
Personally, I think the comments about him have been pointed and on-target. Sure beats talking about Mailander who doesn't have a drop of a sense of humor in himself. Pompous jerkoff.
