Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Wednesday: The "Bullshit" Edition
Inconveniencing Commuter Bullshit: Members of a rap band who will get no free publicity here blocked a local freeway Tuesday morning as part of a publicity stunt. This is the same kind of manure as those illegal alien protesters who laid down in the street in West LA.
LeBong Manure: The Chandler Bikeway runs on an old railroad right of way in both Burbank and North Hollywood. The Burbank portion is beautiful and well maintained. The North Hollywood portion looks like crap. This must be why the City of LA in it's usual wisdom dumped a pile of free animal feces for locals to use right on the shoulder of the bikeway so joggers and bikers can get a nice whiff as they pass by.
Litttle Brown Balls of Cow Droppings: CD12 doesn't like Mitchell Englander. But he's scared up $400 grand. So anyone who wants to run against him better be serious about raising the dough. Who is donating to Mitch? Taxi companies, developers and waste management firms.
English Horseshit: I've met many European expatriates who escaped to the freedom of the US despite the fact many hold the continent up as a progressive paradise. Ex-Brit David Berger stirred up all kinds of castings with his warning that the once moderate Democrat Party has crept leftward to now attempting to wrought a nanny state, totalitaraian state sponsored capitalism to the US.

"Gil" Garcetti?
Speaking of racism, Phil Jennerjahn posts his latest CHILDISH rant about Steven Box, and includes a videoclip of the Cliclavia event this week.
Phil refers to an African American woman in the video and writes, "These people are all watermelons."
DOES THAT TYPE OF RACIST COMMENT SURPRISE ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN WATCHING PHIL'S ANTICS FOR A YEAR OR TWO NOW?
IS IT ANY SURPRISE THAT HIGBY HIRED, LIKES AND REGULARLY DEFENDS A MAN WHO REFERS TO A BLACK WOMAN AS A "WATERMELON?"
Phil, when are you going to apologize to Steven Box for harrassing him about his religious beliefs, not to mention the fact that you were WRONG about his religious beliefs?
You will be pummeled with these questions if you're ever going to be at any candidate debates.
But I doubt you'll be at any of them, since I provided to the City Clerk's office and the City Ethics Commission your blog admission that you don't live in CD4.
But even if you did live in CD4, you couldn't get a TENTH of the votes as LaBonge because even though he is a moron, people like him.
That's the difference between Tom LaBonge and Phil Jennerjahn. People like Tom.

Phil made a funny comment yesterday that he wouldn't have finished in last place in the Congressional race "if he only had more money."
Now that's a laugh riot.
As if Phil's ALIENATING everyone he encounters would have voted for him "if only" he had more money.

But the thing you do most to alienate people is to act like a CHILD on your blog.
"Noone" will vote for a 44 year old man, who can't explain what he does for a living; who hasn't attained enough success to even buy a lousy American car; who quits the recall; who tells SUCCESSFUL ATTORNEYS that THEY would win in city council if he was to carpetbag.
But I admit, I enoy reading your blog because it's highly amusing to see a 44 year old man act like a child and further sink his aspirations.
I can't speak to the allegations of your gambling addiction since I don't know you. But you DON'T EVEN HAVE THE COMMON SENSE TO NOT WRITE ABOUT YOUR GAMBLING EXPLOITS on the web when you want to run for office!
But then again, you're a grad school dropout, if you ever actually attended.

The "watermelon" and black people video clip is still on Phil's blog, although the cynic in me thinks that Phil's craving for attention has him saying more and more desperate things to get people to go to his unheard of report.
But Phil's barely veiled racism is evident in virtually everything he does.
My guess is that if he didn't have a compulsive gambling problem, he'd be more bold about it.
English Horseshit - It always strikes me as slightly disingenuous when immigrants (not just Brits and Europeans; there's a difference!) tell us how wonderful things are in the 'Old Country.' If it's so wonderful there, why did you come to America? Why are you still here?
Democrats can be viable as an alternative to Republicans without becoming radicalized. But when they select with idiots like John Kerry (who wanted to "make nice" with the French and the Germans) as leaders, they are doomed to failure.
I'm not a member of the Westside Republicans, but a close friend is. They kicked him out for apparently being obnoxious at meetings, and trying to turn every subject into a subject about him.
The theft of James Andion's URL was just the straw that broke the camel's back.
It's interesting that about all the comments posted don't connect directly to what's in the Hotsheet for Wednesday.
The Jennerjahn discussions appear as the more popular topic for posters, no matter what the Hotsheet happens to post.
It might be interesting up to a point but after the failed recall for city hall, it's come to be a very predictable group of comments that focus on why we should not pay attention to Jennerjanh.

Your top hotsheet stories are yesterday's news. You are a blog, but printed newspapers beat you in delivering stories from the day before. Nothing on the FBI investigation into affordable housing, but plenty about Phil Jennerjahn.

President Garcetti said he was the lone council member present at 10:00 a.m. while Zine and Perry were excused to arrive late.
After Tony Cardenas arrived late, he tried to educate the public by saying that some council members were still in the Housing, Community, and Economic Development Committee. This meeting is chaired by Wesson with the following Council members Alarcon, Cardenas, Reyes, and Perry, who was excused to arrive late at 11:00 a.m. to chambers, was scheduled to attend.
If these four council members were present in chamber at 10:00 a.m. as mandated per their own Council RULES, council would still be lacking a quorum.
