This man was a KILLER and a COWARD.

Mary Joe Kopeckne's life could have been saved had "Teddy" feared less for his reputation and a homicide charge.

This man was no JFK or RFK. Cowardly is the word that comes to mind. Character flaws will be his legacy.

Glad to see that Mr. Higby scooped Joe B.

I can only think of Valley Doll's post on MS called Sweet Caroline and how she and MS respected this great family with all their whole hearts. RIP Ted Kennedy. You went to a better place.

He was a brave fighter and he fought to the end. I didn't always agreew with him but I shall miss him. I pray for his swift entry into heaven. Godspeed Teddy Kennedy, even from those who thought you were wrong half the time, Godspeed.

This story needs the V Doll to write the eulogy. There are no words for the grief I feel. Mayor Sam, wake up the V Doll, drag her out of bed, and tell her you need to send old man T Kennedy off with a proper send off, written by her. Anything else is just too lame.

Good f'ing riddance. I hope his last days were as miserable an painful as Mary Jo Kopechne's last seconds of life as he left her to die a horrible death.
I hope they are as distressing for his family as it must have been for Mary Jo's parents.
Bye bye Mr. American piece of shit.

Stop Press: Ted Kennedy will be honored at the Staples Center. Mayor Villariagosa will sing "Killer!"with Michael Jackson's corpse rotting in the background on the stage. LAPD estimates crowds will exceed those at the Jackson memorial show, and have ordered 10,000 boxes of sandwiches from a Martha's Vineyard deli.

"Big loss for America?" Are you kidding me? Ted Kennedy wrought enough damage to this country, riding on the Kennedy name-- good riddance! Glad his stupid amnesty bill was a failure-- ha ha!

1. He got kicked out of Harvard for CHEATING.

2. He was a womanizer

3. He was a boozer

4. He was a killer.

5. He was a coward, who let mary jo kopechne drown, even though she could have been saved.

Other than these five flaws, he was great. But he was a cheater through and through.

Too bad Joe B. feels the need to gloss these things over on HIS post. He has to come here to where Higby lets us speak and try to argue with us here.

Note how when Higby already posted this story on the blog, Joe not only had to come here to come here and post his comment first, he had to "push down" Higby's engtry with a "forgetful" CNN memorial.

Major character flaws here Joe B. Not Teddy's, but yours, too.

And what's with the name "Teddy"?? That's a children's name, and his name wasn't Theodore. It was Edward. We might as well call Joe B. Ralph, since those things don't matter in the Kennedy world.

Rita, what do you do for a living that you're up commenting on this blog at 3am?

I didn't know that you are a LOSER like me! Ha ha ha!

This is the first time I agree with you about anything. It's too bad that Joe B. deletes comments that dissent. It's no wonder that he felt the burning desire to post a Kennedy memorial AFTER higby already did it here. I agree with you! This man was no role model and I wouldn't want my kids to emulate him.

I will not post on anything Joe B. puts up here in the future because he won't tolerate anyone who disagrees with him and rushes to respond to everything. Higby is bad, but not that bad. Neither are you. Ha ha ha! I love it that you're up doing this in the middle of the night like the rest of us.

I think we are missing the fact that Rose Kennedy stood by and allowed Joe to get away with all of his illegal businesses and carousing, and that led to her sons being the same way, from JFK to RFK, and Senator Ed too.

It all starts with the parents and Rose & Joe are plenty to blame for their sons' bad behavior. It's uniform across the board.

Michael do you know that Joe B isn't posting comments from anyone who didn't buy into all the kennedy crap?

How do things work on this blog? Dems don't get a fair shake on your posts and Republicans don't get a fair shake on Joe's?

Higby how come THIS subject about a senator from the other side of the continent is relevant, but telling us about the CD2 event sponsored by the sherman oaks home owners association got no word from you in advance? That is completely relevant to our lives, but we didn't get any heads up from you about that?

The Sherman Oaks Homeowners Association last week was not a forum event. It was just a regular meeting where they allowed candidates to introduce themselves to the crowd. Try to get over it and if it is such a big deal to you, then you should have known about it anyway as everyone else did. I think this blog should delete itself for not raising more awareness over this matter.

I love how the man's body isn't even cold yet, and the on-que conservatives are already bringing up Kopenckne. Yes, that was a sad loss, but don't discount everything he has done in the past 50 years. These are just 10 of his best legislations - http://www.ranker.com/list/top-10-ted-kennedy-legislations/litgoddess -

Sorry 304, what Kennedy did to Mary Jo Kopechne when "noone" was looking says what you need to know about his character.

If that's not enough, he CHEATED at Harvard and they booted him.

He was a lush and a philanderer, and 35 years after Kopechne, it was him and his nephews at Au Bar. Trouble found the man, and the man found trouble, every where he went.

To be a good guy when the cameras are running is the easy part. It's the behind the scene things that tell you about his character.

The vast majority of the comments on this string today show that they agree with me, not you.

Ted Kennedy is dead. That's a good thing, even though justice delayed is justice denied, his painful and humiliating death gave him plenty of time to reflect on his crime, cowardice and character.

The bad thing about Ted Kennedy is the effect that his band of teflon ethics and immoral conduct has had on democrats, particularly liberal democrats.

We see this locally with politicians like Galatzan and Weiss. Galatzan and Weiss hide behind liberal democrats because they get a pass from them no matter how low in the trough of swill they mire.

Anything goes as long as it gets a lib dem elected. Ted Kennedy is dead, and that is all that needs to be said.
