Paul and Tamar are starting to dominate this race.

Outside of Wendy, Essel has nothing going for her.

Boy the mayors people screwed up by making her their candidate.

Wendy and $200k will place her in 5th place....Essel that is.

Actually, I'd rather have the PPL or the Firefighters, or both, than these Sierra Club weenies.

Truly sad.

Regarding Sierra Club Endorsement.

The Los Angeles County Political Committee of the Sierra Club is under the leadership of Susana Reyes who happens to be the Human Resources Director for the DWP.

Reyes and her fellow board members are big supporters of Mayor Villaraigosa (remember Prop B ??). So look for them to support Krekorian.

Wow!!

My buddy, the "No Ho Valley White Guy" in lock step with the Sierra Club.

2007 Based on a point system, with points assigned for actions in support of or in opposition to Sierra Club California's position, Assembly Member Krekorian received a rating of 100.

Just a thought, but was Krekorian really Villar's # 1 choice for CD-2 ??

Don-cha just love Paul Krekorian's magical transformation from hotshot Assemblyman to folksy horseback riding "guy from the community" now that the money dried up in Sacto?

All together now! P-H-O-N-Y

Sierra club lost its non-profit status and only endorses the moneyed candidate though Mary Benson has the strongest environmental advocacy.

It's no wonder Susana Reyes is so removed and conflicted from being an advocate for the environment.

The cost of a sierra club endorsement is to continue green-washing the horrific climate change all of us face.

Oh well, those that know the price of everything and the value of nothing. We need a whole new way of doing business.

The PPL endorsement just means it wants to buy some political hacks and whores for Weber's agenda, look who they've bought, Trutanich, Zine, some say Smith but I don't think he's as bad just clueless in how he treated Bratton helping make his work environment a bigger headache than it needed to be.

PPL is now trying to throw its money around like manure instead of all to one like for Nuch because the rank and file can see Weber's wanna be king-making has backfired and they still have no deal, so my bet is they won't endorse any one candidate so as not to kill his/ her chances. May give some to Shallman client Essel and to Krekorian who is coming off as willing to change his stripes on a dime for the highest bidder. Tamar as a prosecutor is a likely bet but only if they feel she'll fall in line with Nuch and Zine.

Urgh you guys are talking out of your asses. You have no idea how the Sierra Club endorsement process works. Susana Reyes has one vote on endorsements just like everyone else on the political committee, etc.

And for those of you who don't think this matters in CD 2, you're wrong. This is great for PK, he now has Sierra Club and LA League of Conservation Voters, the only two environmental organizations that endorse in LA.

The only phoney in this race is Essel.

Lots of community people might not like Tamar or Paul, but they only really hate Essel.

If Essel survives the primary every one will line up with the candidate against her.

Nothing like being a Friday evening quarter back story. I hope your are all wrong. CD 2 needs Benson who is the the most caring and honest candidate
for CD 2. Aren't you all sick of business as usual with career politicians. You don't have to hold a public office to be a politician!

Unfortunately, most voters aren't active members in the community, they do not read this blog, and they do not have animosity toward Essel...because at this point they don't know who she is.

I don't like it, but my prediction is Essel and Krekorian in the primary, Tamar comes in third. There is just over a month left and money does wonders to amplify ones voice.

Extracted the latest piece of 4-sided slick, glossy Kerkorian propoganda from my mailbox today and spied noneother than Mayor Sam's name on the List of Supporters! C'mon, Michael-- Captain Kerk's's a DWEEB--his eyes are WAY too close together, for one thing AND when I called his office yesterday and was told the state assemblyman was still "undecided" in re: to the Early Release possibility of an onslaught of dangerous felons, I realized his innocuous stance was a snap-shot of representational disappointments to come. All that said, at least Kerkorian considers himself to be a GATED community organizer...

Tamar is just as much of a mayor's candidate as is Essel, so don't kid yourself.

Tamar's "people" (both of them) can write on here that she is pulling ahead and that Essel is a Villaraigosa candidate but so is she and it will be worse for the person who wins. They'll all be sucking up to the mayor.

No choice. They'll never get what they want for their district if they don't play nice.

I went to lunch with 2 eighty year olds and one 65 year old valley women today, all of them interested in politics.

One of them listens to talk radio so she goes with Kevin James. But she actually thinks Zuma and Mary Benson are the best candidates with Paul Krekorian in a close third but she thinks he'll win. She doesn't think Tamar or Essel have a chance and none of the others except for Zuma and Mary and that is because she is involved with neighborhood councils.

One used to work with Chris at Paramount and loves, loves, loves her as a person but thinks she's a Republican and keeps bad company and the SB 1818 and the council file number turned her off and she's just glad she doesn't have to vote.

One is an 80 year old liberal who despises Greig Smith and all he stands for and she says that
Greig Smith got Chris to run. She doesn't like Tamar Galatzan at all and said her kids have had to deal with her over her grandchildren's education and they think she is a horrible school board member but she says she would vote for the Sierra Club endorsement even though (and this is important to the one who called the Sierra Club tree-huggers) the Sierra Club is non-partisan and she only cares about open space.

Only two out of the four can vote in CD 2.

I didn't say a word either way about anyone. I just listened. But I heard things repeated that I've either read or wrote here.

So it was a very interesting lunch and even though none of them have ever read Mayor Sam, it is very telling that they are hearing the same stories about all the candidates. Very interesting lunch.

Since proposition B I doubt Sierra’s Club common sense. I talked to a member from another area explaining my disappointment of Sierra’s Club supporting proposition B and he told me he didn’t know what was happening in L. A. So if the head doesn’t know what the hand is doing is time to question their agenda. They are using the their name and their membership, that doesn’t knows the facts, to convince the public.
I cannot give them my support when they are playing politics. So I cancelled my membership.

Good for you 10:19AM.Sierra club is an ossified ,spineless organization, which started with good goals ,achieved major accomplishments, but has fallen in the hands of political hacks and exploiters, who are implementing the special interests and unions` dirty deals.
They are part of the cause of DWP`s skyrocketing ,scandalous rates, that will continue rising at an alarming pace bankrupting many homeowners.

Breaking news: "Trustee" Tamar Galatzan uses LAUSD money to campaign for CD 2.

Got a nice little pamphlet with a picture of a kid and everything, real official.

What makes this ethical lapse even more glaring is that this is the only mailer I've ever gotten from her office...ever.

Wow Tamar, teachers are getting fired and you're sending out campaign mail with school money...Shady.

This is a hoot. If you believe zooma's blog, he has lost his apartment in CD2.

Maybe the person who gave the place to him realized that Zooma was lying when he said he would endorse anyone who just gave him a single clean room.

Someone gave Zooma that room. Zoma didn't do as he said. Zooma is back on the streets. That's what you get for calling every body in city hall a liar, then turning into one yourself. It's a hint about how z00ma would be as councilman. Empty promises by a liar.
