You need to invite Carlos Alvarez, Craig Rubin and Gordon Turner...to be fair.

Carlos and Craig have been actively campaigning and deserve to be represented, also

Each one will have an opportunity to say something newsworthy and appear mayoral, and none of them will be able to do it.

This debate is very nice of you Mayor Sam ... it's like the Special Olympics of LA politics. Good for you.

I don't care who debates---I just love the fact that Phil Jennerjahn, an ideological conservative, is asking for inclusion of Carlos Alvarez, an ideological socialist.

In my opinion, that qualifies either one to be a better Mayor than Ace Smith's hapless stooge.

Before you get too impressed, you might want to ask Jennerhahn what he called Alvarez at today's debate. Your warm fuzzies may turn into cold pricklies...

I agree with Joseph- even though Phil referred to Carlos as "Taco Truck"

EVERYBODY gets to speak- no?

Where the hell are you, Walter?

Why won't you come to the debate?

It's true what Walter Moore says. I called Carlos Alvarez ... "Taco truck" Alvarez because he went off on a bizarre socialistic rant about legalizing all illegals and about how capitalism was evil..etc....etc...

He stood up and screamed " I SUPPORT THE TACO TRUCKS" in a commentary on something I think Walter or David had said. It was a very odd thing to say.

I was trying to make a joke out of it and tease him...it didn't work out so well. Alvarez's supporters were calling everyone racist...I'm getting a little tired of that.

I THINK Carlos came out and called Walter Moore a racist outright. I'll have to check the video on that one.

Carlos demanded an apology from me, but strangely enough, he didn't offer one for his calling everyone else racist.

The "great debate?!?" -- More like a remake of the new Wally George hour, but except for Wally and the hair, you get a chubbly wubbly mayor.

Is Jennerjahn making a ploy to get some of Walter's Minuteman support? Taco Truck? Good move swifty.

Mailander,

Perhaps Jennerjahn wants to invite Alvarez because he needs someone to clean his toilets?

With Wacko's shrinking popularity, Jennerjahn automatically gets some of Wacko's Minutemen and other racists. The Taco Truck ploy helps. Jennerjahn is the legitimate GOP candidate, with a far better chance of winning. Wacko's finished.

I may be attending the California State Republican Convention this weekend in Sacramento.

If I attend, I will be unable to make it to the Mayor Sam debate.

There was no racism in Phil's comments. In a discussion of taco trucks, Carlos started screaming that he supported the taco truck vendors. So Phil poked fun at him by calling him Carlos "Taco Truck" Alvarez. You may not have liked that Phil tagged him with a jab like that, but there was no racism in the comment, at all.

Carlos did, however, say that everyone else at the table was a racist.

Hey this is Craig X Rubin and I agree with Phil that Carlos, Phil and I should at least be invited. Not only do we campaign regularly, show up at every event and we contribute to the debate. I noticed that Walter Moore finally picked up on my idea to end the consent decree. I had never heard him mention that prior to the CBS debate, but I had mentioned it at every event and it is central to my campaign.

I like Carlos, the socialist, and thought that Phil's joke was funny. Come on this is America. Politics should be funny. Carlos and I disagree on most things politically, but I think he has a right to be heard. Carlos and I did agree on one thing that City Hall did right. The measure allowing renters to stay in their homes, paying rent of course, when the owner of the building had lost the property to the bank for one year we both think is a good idea.

For the debate I think we should be included and that it is rude not to invite us.

You're denigrating a candidate as a "pothead" ?

Could there be a more prolific pothead than the candidate already on the docket?

That would be greatly entertaining - two potheads trying to be convincing!
