What does that last comment mean? That you're getting homeless people to sign the petition to up numbers?

Since they don't have an address by definition of being homeless, how can you know who's even eligible?

Under California law homeless people can register to vote, they just have to list some place of residence, but it can be "corner of 5th and Main" for example.

I don't see any issue with homeless people registering and voting. As long as they are forced to do it more than once by community organizers.

Ask Don Garza, there are plenty of homeless who are registered to vote and take it very seriously.

Why should they have any less right to vote than anyone else?

That being said that doesn't excuse groups like ACORN getting homeless people to register 500 times in exchange for cigarettes or money.

I know for sure the Shaws didn't do that.

What's wrong with the homeless voting? Like that they don't pay any taxes, but have a right by virtue of voting to levy taxes on only the property owners (and single family property owners at that) like with the Gang Tax, and all the bonds?

Our founding fathers had a point when they limited full rights only to landowners, foreseeing that when the landless could vote, they'd vote to confiscate and redistribute their land and money. Just like in Latin America and now, LA.

Of course, parolees and convicted felons still having the right to vote doesn't thrill me either, but if they're homeless parolees they CAN still be eligible and ARE signed up by ACORN, the Shaws, etc.

Especially hypocritical since the Shaws and Jamiel's Law are so hyped up against illegal immigrants and their anchor babies getting too many benefits. They're just desperately pitting one group of "those who need" against "those who give." (Steve Lopez made this distinction in an earlier article and it's apt.)

I'm for legal citizens having more resources available to them, especially since many are mentally ill and/or substance abusers/addicts. (Like the poor guy burned alive in mid-Wilshire.) Althemore reason for them not to vote, however.

12:00AM- It's all lawful activity and if you disagree with that, then you can work to change the laws.

And on the founding fathers notions of the day, wasn't ownership of slaves something of an acceptable practice in their time? Just one of the more noticed changes in society and law over time.

By law all LEGAL American citizens are allowed to vote. Yet one person commenting here seems to have no problems with illegal aliens voting.

And to this person...what exactly are illegal aliens "giving" to Americans? Well illegal aliens have bankrupted our system, stolen identity, taken jobs from Americans (many who may be homeless now), murdered our children, brought in new diseases, changed our AMERICAN culture (yes, America has a culture), overcrowded schools, and on and on and on! If this is "giving", Americans do not want it!!

How do you know the homeless have not "given" by the way? I have helped in the homeless district and I have heard their stories. Many homeless are VETERANS! They have undoubtly GIVEN the most to our nation! Some are families where the parents lost their jobs. Some have lost jobs due to the illegal invasion. Yes, some are mentally handicapped or drug addicted, but we don't know what they "gave" to our nation before their conditions.

Homeless AMERICANS should have MORE rights than CRIMINAL aliens!! Thank you to the Shaw family who recognized the contributions of the homeless and showed the homeless that there are Americans who care and believe they are important!

Yes, I agree that mentally ill, homeless junkies should be making and amending our laws here in L.A. and telling the cops how to do their jobs to protect us. A big thank you to the Shaws and homeless Dave Elliot AKA Zooma Dogg for seeing this is done. (By the way, Dave, thanks for all your hard work and selfless hours of self-promotion on Ch. 35, telling those lazy layabouts at City Hall how to do their jobs better, too!)

Friends, Americans, Patriots, Loyalists,

The Vote is quite sacred, especially for those that know the price.
Homeless Americans have the right to vote because of those that have defended America against all enemies both foreign & domestic.
They should be able to go to a local shelter like "Brother Benos" in Oceanside etc....to sign up and register.
Have a blessed day and may GOD Bless you & your family.
