Bad News: DJIA soars 936 Points!
The biggest gain in history, and overseas markets rocket.
Overheard at Obama offices: "Quick! Get Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, his once Ten-Most-Wanted Wife to Wall Street! Prosperity is bad for THAT ONE!"
Have you heard that the Ayers/Dohrn daughter is a personal assistant to Hugo Chavez? Methinks she's not getting his dry cleaning, a la Rocky Delgadillo's assistants.
I may have to join in and vote for Obama, because I want to see how this mess turns out.

This blog has its own stock market expert, Zooma Dog.
I expect that any minute now we'll hear from him how he predicted this.
Actually, what's happening is that smart investors, following the rule "buy low, sell high" are jumping on buying opportunties.
I have my own list. Things will level out again tomorrow. There are many good companies whose stock value went down as the result of this mess than Bush and McBush ignored. Because they are fundamentally good, their stock is now available at wholesale prices.
The economic mess still continues and should be with us for 2 or 3 quarters.

very funny!

Actually it was one of Ayers' sons, Chesa, who worked for Hugh Chavez.

4:45pm, this will give some short term confidence. i call it a suckers rally. wait until the year end profit reports come out for all of these corporate companies on wall street who thought oil would be $85 a barrel, this year. it may be back down today, but all year it was flying high in the $110, $120, $130, $140...it's going to be a disaster.
the world bank will end up having to bail out the U.S. It's all moving to "one world" economy.
This is a controlled collapse of the economy.
Beware Wall Street. I think it will be WAY longer than 2 or 3 quarters.

Hugh Chavez? I know for a fact that my second cousin had coffee with a hair dresser whose next door neighbor bought a lottery ticket from a guy at the liquor store named Hugh Chavez whose step-sister used to deliver newspapers to Bill Ayers' house and my cousin is supporting Obama.
I don't know if it's sad or amusing at all these desperate attempts by people trying to fool themselves into believing that McBush has a chance.
What advice would you give McBush to turn around this campaign?
Continue with the Ayers crap that hasn't resonated so far?
Become the old John McCain and speak from the heart?
Drop Sarah Palin?
Come up with a simple economic plan?
Take ginko?

Until a few weeks ago, McCain was a big ACORN supporter. See this photo of McCain a the keynote speaker at an ACORN immigration reform event.
Would this be another flip-flop? Did he simply forget about the event and what he said, or did he hope that this too would be covered up?
Is McCain the Homer Simpson of national politics?

McCain/Palin tone down personal attacks on Obama. Mayor Sam doesn't get the memo.
Sunday night Palin, at a rally, made no mention of Obama or Bill Ayers. She used "nearly apologetic language."

"Socialism Kills" screams Haikul's headline.
But what in the world has free market conservatives so PO'd at Bush's bailout plan?
Answer: it tilts toward socialism and away from free market economics.
Shelby York said:
Really? That's what my headline says?
I could've sworn that I wrote "Bad News: DJIA soars 936 points!"
What headline are YOU reading?
While I have your attention, do you NOT believe that Socialism kills? You can answer that after you advise what headline you're reading.

My guess is that if Obama's elected, the stock market will go down like someone who got pushed off a cliff. Here's a guy who wants to tax the bejesus out of wealthy investors and corporations alike. Then Obama will have a real economic mess on his hands, and his ratings will make Bush look popular by comparison.
This is just my guess. No need to get excited.

OK, let's get technical and bore people to death. It's not THE headline. It's the two big words in caps beneath the drawing right under the headline.
My point is that there simply isn't one thing called socialism. It isn't black or white. Socialism exists in different forms and to different degrees in this country. Bush's bailout plan is an example of that. Among other things, the government is taking over banks.

The head line should read -
"Haikula - Kills Intelligent Discussion"

Haikula:
Been listening to NPR this morning. Most of the discussion is about how unusual it is for the conservative Republican administration to resort to a socialist measure such as having the federal government take over some banks.
Point being that saying (headline or not) that "Socialism Kills" is an overstatement.
I am someone who strongly supports capitalism over socialism, but I, apparently like the White House, am realist enough to know that absolute socialism and absolute capitalism are not the answer.
The world is not as simple, not as black and white, as you would have us believe.

Haikula,
if you believe that socialism kills, then, as a Hillary supporter, how do describe that health plan that she presented while the First Lady?
