Uh-Oh! McCain Linked To Death Squads!

If McCain is going to continue playing the "no stick" Ayers card, then I suppose it's only fair to bring up McCain's connection to the U.S. Council for World Freedom.

This group, the US chapter of the World Anti-Communist League, "an international organization linked to former Nazi collaborators and ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America", proudly listed McCain on it's letterhead. He even served on their advisory board.

The USCWF, created by retired Army Maj. Gen. John Singlaub, served as the "under the radar" logistics team that kept weapons and money flowing from the CIA to the Nicaraguan Contras. The record of the Contras was, as you may recall, "...one of consistent and bloody abuse of human rights, of murder, torture, mutilation, rape, arson, destruction and kidnapping." (Wiki)

You can follow the rabbit trail HERE.

And did you hear the one about McCain being a headline speaker at an ACORN event?

Those that live in glass houses....

Ever notice that Obama never smiles? Why's that? Is he afraid that someone might think he's got a sense of humor, or does he laugh at all the wrong jokes at all the wrong times?

Is "Housegate" the latest Sarah Palin scandal?

The question is who built Palin's 355 sq. ft., $500,000 house in Wasilla?

Todd says that he a couple of contractor friends did.

But he and Sarah were in the middle of a busy race for Lt. Governor at the time.

The son of the head of the local Republican Party, Blase Burkhart had just gotten the architectual contract for the $12.5 million Wasilla Sports Complex, which ran well over budget while Palin was mayor.

Senior Burkhart was a Palin campaign contributor. Blase Burkhart was on the selection team for the building contractor. They picked Howdie, Inc., a firm that mainly builds residences and whose owner was also a Palin contributor. Two competitors protested the award process.

Another contractor, Spenard Building Supply, sponsors Todd's snowmobile racing team, and they hired Sarah to do a statewide ad in 2004.

Spenard supplied the materials for the Palins' house. Spendard also did a lot of work and provided supplies for Senator Ted Stevens' house, which is now a big part of the graft and corruption charges against him.

Although Wasilla doesn't require building permits for residences, Spanard actually filed a notice of its right to assert a lien" on the deed. It was Mayor Palin who blocked an effort to require the filing of building permits, so there are no public records of who Todd's buddies were.

The house was completed two months before she left City Hall and while she and Todd were in their first statewide campaign.

There are some interesting questions to be asked. Maybe Todd can remember who his friends were? Or is he hiding something. Maybe Sarah knows the answers, and maybe everything has an explanation, but do you think she'll speak up?
