Sam's Campaign Hotsheet

Following the Republican National Convention and the selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin by Presidential nominee John McCain as his running mate, the GOP campaign has seen a surge in poll numbers and fundraising leaving the Obama campaign a bit nervous.  McCain rallies are attracting thousands more attendees, McCain has pulled ahead of Obama in the polls and fundraising is through the roof.  In fact, the McCain camp has raised $5 million in Obama's hometown of Chicago in just the last few days.   In the meantime, Democratic stragegists are getting nervous that while the McCain-Palin camp gains steam, the Obama campaign has fallen apart and is horribly off it's game.

He has a tingligng feeling in his leg for Barack Obama but along with partner in crime Keith Olbermann, MSNBC commentator Chris Matthews has been removed as an anchor for NBC's coverage of this year's Presidential campaign.  NBC has finally owned up to the fact that the liberally biased Matthews and Olbermann are commentators and not journalists and hence will officially fill the latter role.  The more seemingly balanced David Gregory will take over helming the network's campaign related broadcasts.

We all knew it would be a matter of time before "Big Mouth" Joe Biden would open up la boca grande and insert his foot, but he did it. Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin who is the parent of a children with Down's Syndrome has been on record of being opposed to stem cell research however the specifics of her position are not yet clear.  "Big Mouth" Biden, like he always does, stepped in it when he said he couldn't figure out how a special needs parent could oppose stem cell research, once again sinking the Democratic campaign to a new low.

Deep thinker Joy Behar from ABC's The View, who thinks Barack Obama is the second coming of Franklin Roosevelt and that government is the answer to all our problems went on an extended attack on Sarah Palin on Tuesday night's edition of Larry King Live on CNN.  Among Goofy Joy's many criticisms of the Vice Presidential candidate is that Sarah doesn't wear contact lenses and that the Governor's glasses are a prop.  Joy also repeated a number of the usual untrue rumors about Sarah that even liberal bloggers like David Markland have debunked.

Uhmm...Higby: - From the CNN article YOU linked to

Palin, an evangelical Christian, opposes stem cell research because it involves the use of human embryos, but her running mate, GOP presidential nominee McCain, does support stem cell research.

And he never mentioned Palin...

"I hear all this talk about how the Republicans are going to work in dealing with parents who have both the joy ... and the difficulty of raising a child who has a developmental disability, who were born with a birth defect."

"Well, guess what, folks? If you care about it, why don't you support stem cell research?"

BIG RED FLAG THAT MCCAIN CAMPAIGN IS NOT ALLOWING REPORTERS TO ASK PALIN QUESTIONS!! What the hell is that? Are they afraid she's too stupid to know how to answer. Ladies and Gentlemen this is the person they want as VP of the US.

BBC...WORLD WANTS OBAMA AS PRESIDENT: POLL...people across the world want him in the White House, a BBC poll said.

All 22 countries covered in the poll would prefer to see Senator Obama elected US president ahead of Republican John McCain. In 17 of the 22 nations, people expect relations between the US and the rest of the world to improve if Senator Obama wins.

More than 22,000 people were questioned by pollster GlobeScan in countries ranging from Australia to India and across Africa, Europe and South America.

The margin in favour of Senator Obama ranged from 9 per cent in India to 82 per cent in Kenya, while an average of 49 per cent across the 22 countries preferred Senator Obama compared with 12 per cent preferring Senator McCain. Some four in 10 did not take a view.

"Large numbers of people around the world clearly like what Barack Obama represents," GlobeScan chairman Doug Miller said.

"Given how negative America's international image is at present, it is quite striking that only one in five think a McCain presidency would improve on the Bush administration's relations with the world."

In the United States, three polls taken since the Republican party convention ended on Thursday (local time) show Senator McCain with a lead of 1 to 4 percentage points - within the margin of error - and two others show the two neck-and-neck.

The countries most optimistic that an Obama presidency would improve relations were America's NATO allies, including Australia (62 per cent).

A similar BBC/Globescan poll conducted ahead of the 2004 U.S presidential election found that, of 35 countries polled, 30 would have preferred to see Democratic nominee John Kerry, rather than the incumbent George Bush, who was elected.

A total of 23,531 people in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Lebanon, Mexico, Nigeria, Panama, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Turkey, the UAE, Britain and the United States were interviewed face-to-face or by telephone in July and August 2008 for the poll.

uh, 4:44 if Biden wasn't quoting Palin then whom? We all know Joe likes to quote lots of other people but usually he claims the words for himself.

And CNN reported last night that it was not clear whether or not Palin supported NON-embryonic stem cell research or if she would support research on embryos NOT from abortions.

Oh to be more precise on the CNN report (on air, not on the website) it was Anderson Cooper who reported that.

As the model democracy of world, it behooves us to win the world popularity contest - dumbass.

You don't think Nixon going to China or Carter going to Israel and Egypt or Reagan going to Berlin have anything to do with that.

Cheney/Bush crushed any moral stance that the U.S. had regarding democracy, the military and diplomacy.

We need to lead by example and unfortunately under Cheney/Bush that has happened - this is the only excuse Russia needed to invade Georgia.

Great job Republicans!

The United States is a member, really a leader, in the world community. Anyone, except perhaps Sarah Palin, understands that the U.S. cannot be an isolationist.

We rely upon other countries to help our economy, which has faltered during the Bush administration. Restoring some dignity to the White House is important.

It's difficult for a country to be a world leader when what we're known for is a goofy clod president and occupying countries we don't like and torturing people.

Sarah Palin, even with five children, is very sexy.

Brains and looks have never been paired so well!

She's hot in her business suit & skirt, and she's even hotter in those photos with the t-shirt and fatigue pants.

You gotta be kidding? If she had brains why are they controlling the media and not answering ANY questions? Because she has nothing of substance to say and Palin just attacks Obama like a pit bull. The ugly truths are beginning to come out and finally when the REAL PALIN GUN TOUTING woman comes out to the media many people will change their minds.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen (removes hat and bows low with flourish):

The two Republicans on our crew are just over the moon about Ms. Palin, and they've taken the Libertarian, American Independent and one of the Democrats with them. (Rolls eyes) That being said, the Bard who is, if you will, one of the two, would like to sing a song about her that you Yanks know as The Ballad Of Davy Crockett. (Rolls eyes again) Indulge him, will you? (Winks) At least its not a ditty about Don Jose, savvy?

(Bard steps up to microphone and begins to sing):

VERSE 1
Born in a small town in Idaho,
Lots of admirers where ever she goes.
She's the governor of land with snow,
Thank God she doesn't look like a water buffalo!

(Chorus)
Sarah! Sarah Palin! Queen of the New Frontier!

VERSE 2
Now while you may think she's running with a geezer,
Young Miss Sarah put Big Foot in the freezer.
She's the "other" whom Yoda spoke about.
With brains and looks, she makes us want to shout!

(Chorus)
Sarah! Sarah Palin! Queen of the New Frontier!

VERSE 3
If we had a mayor just like Sarah Palin,
She'd send the Clowncil a packin' and a wailin'!
She'd stand up against ol' Mayor Flash And Dash....
And if he copped a feel she'd kick him in the (Bard covers mouth and looks surprised)!

(Chorus)
Sarah! Sarah Palin! Queen of the New Frontier!

(Crew applauds. Bard smiles, bows and leaves stage)

You guys think Howdy Doody Gregory will be any better? You must have missed the White House obnoxious questions of the President all last year.

By the way, the arm feeling Chris got turned out to be him pissing in his pants with fear of Olberman, not Obama.

Guess what all you folks who think it's a big deal that the US win a popularity contest, the people who live in what is called fly over country could give a rat's ass. And since it seems to be a lib concern of those who live in their enclaves of MALIBU or West Los Angeles and Manhattan or San Francisco, may I paraphrase

Oh, and there's plenty of us here in LA who think so also.

Sarah transcends politics! Every guy is ga-ga over her; and women love her because she is soooo REAL! Young kids want to emulate her...and women are copying her hairstyle and glasses.

Sarah is a knock-out, and she's going to deliver the knock=out punch to Obama. He won't know what hit him!

GO SARAH!!!

Sarah is gaining ground on Obama and that's a tragedy, with her anti-choice position on abortion, crazy creationism that undermines science, philistine views, trying to ban even innocuous books, ignorance about the world and that horrible voice.

She's a turn-off to most kids I know who think she's a redneck bumpkin.

McPain is an old 72, with his melanomas and limping, he's dull and will make an uninspiring mascot as a world leader.

But Obama's proving that he never had any substance just like his detractors said -- Hillary was the one who could have won the undecideds and women plus blue collars who may go for McPalin.

Very funny but I think you're sadly mistaken. Your scenario ain't gonna happen. Real women won't vote for Sarah for a multitude of reasons.

However, Republicans will vote Republican and Democrats will vote Democrat and that's how that will go down.

Most of the Independents are either Republicans or new voters. They aren't "independent" of anything really.

Damn, I used to think that Captain Jack had a pretty good brain. But anyone who hangs out with legitimate KKK-loving Nazis calling themselves American Independents can't have any sense.
