This blog has DONE gone wacko with the acronyms.
From time to time, you should provide an easily accessible recap of the acronyms, RICO.
Otherwise, this blog will not be welcome in (ni)MBY.
i.e. this is getting too "Insider Baseball-y"

Congresswoman Failed To Disclose Loan From Strip Club
A Long Beach newspaper reports today that a South Bay
congresswoman failed to disclose she was getting loans from political
supporters, including the owner of a strip club in Signal Hill.
Rep. Laura Richardson, D-Long Beach, has filed amended financial
reporting forms, or filed them late, over the past few years, the Long Beach
Press-Telegram reported.
The reports are required by the California Fair Political Practices
Commission, and are intended to allow the public to know exactly where their
elected officials have financial ties. Richardson failed to file several
reports during her term on the Long Beach City Council, or after she was
elected to a state assembly seat in Sacramento.
Richardson is embroiled in a legal battle to regain title of a house she
lost to a foreclosure auction in Sacramento, and has been behind payments on
homes she owns in San Pedro and Long Beach. She paid long-overdue bills to a
pair of car repair shops last week after the newspaper asked her about them.
The financial form irregularities prompted the congresswoman to file new
forms last week, again after the Press-Telegram made inquiries. Some of the
fialures date back to the year 2000, and were corrected by Richardson in 2003.
Richardson at one point voted to place one of her supporters, Charles
Westlund, on a city of Long Beach board without alerting anyone that his family
had financed second mortgages on her houses. Paperwork on the mortgages was
unclear if the loan was made by Westlund or his son, who shares the same name.
The younger Westlund owns the strip club in Signal Hill, and at the time
of the mortgage issue owned a Long Beach strip club that was the frequent
scene of police calls, the newspaper reported.
Dancers were being cited for being nude, this violating its topless-
dancing license, at the time that then-Councilwoman Richardson had the
undisclosed loan from the club's owner's father.

Rapper's Wife Arrested
The wife of Grammy-nominated rap artist Snoop Dogg was
arrested in Fullerton today on suspicion of drunken driving, a police
lieutenant said.
Police stopped Shante Broadus, 32, near the area of Highland and
Orangethorpe avenues at about 12:15 a.m. today, said Fullerton police Lt. Craig
Brower.
Broadus, a resident of Sherman Oaks, was given a citation and a notice
to appear in court, Brower said, which should be sometime in July.
The police lieutenant was unable to comment on what led officers to stop
Broadus, what kind of vehicle she was driving or if there were any other
occupants inside the vehicle.
Broadus and Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr. -- AKA``Snoop Dogg'' -- have
been married since June 1997 and have three children.
The arrest was first reported by the TMZ.com celebrity gossip site.

Zuma Dogg 4 Mayor of Los Angeles in '09: #1 GOAL...Community "Destabilization" Prevention During Economic Crisis
Last year, the term "subprime" quickly became one of the most used buzzwords in the news.
This year's (and especially next year's) buzzword will be "destabilization." As in what is about to happen to communities Citywide across Los Angeles.
Zuma Dogg blogged about the impending subprime foreclosure crisis that would occur at the end of '07/early '08 (triggering a recession) in May of '07. Three months later, the word "subprime" was on the front page of the newspapers, with the effects kicking in just as ZD blogged about.
"Come summmetime fuel prices will go higher and the interest rates will go higher." - Zuma Dogg May '07 (Fuel is high...interest rates to be raised back up by Fed next!)
In October-December, Zuma created a blog called
StrategyUpdate.com to warn friends and family members of serious stock market problems that would kick in Jan '01 2008. (The market opened on January 3rd, and we all know what happened to investors in January and February.)
If you check the website and blog, although I haven't posted in months, you can see all the predictions that were made during this time -- and compare it to what actually happened (is happening.)
I am not mentioning this to boast, but to try and gain some credibility with readers -- because we have not even begun to see the effects of the subprime mess that is now coupled with $130+ a barrel for oil and gas near $5.00 in Southern California.
THAT'S WHY AS MAYOR OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES I WILL MAKE COMMUNITY "DESTABILIZATION" THE TOP JOB! Because if the communities start to destabilize as a side effect of these economic hard times -- all the other side effects (like crime and homelessness) quickly become even worse.
AND IT WILL GET EVEN WORSE! It hasn't even started yet. The City officials must know this, which is why there is a big money grab going on throughout the City to collect (shakedown) money from anyone and anywhere. (Things like the amount of liens, tickets and escrows will be going way up -- along with any and every city fee.)
And of course, all of this will make things even worse for property and business owners. (Less revenue coming in as the economy tightens up, or comes to a grinding halt -- while having fees, liens and taxes piled on like never before.)
All of this means community destabilization will be the squeeky wheel buzzword, starting NOW!
Here's the story a cafe owner told me that explains what happens: The store owner was complaining because not only did she have to make (un-necessary) improvements to her quaint cafe that she couldn't afford, but business is so down that she can't pay her rent at home.
WHAT HAPPENED?: It all went down pretty quickly in the course of just a few months. Six or seven stores/businesses in the block/nearby walking area went out of business recently. This means the cafe loses the business of the seven stores (employess) -- AND the business of the seven stores customers that the cafe used to rely on. (A lot of foot traffic, and driving traffic has stopped with the closures of the nearby businesses.) So look for the cafe to close soon, too.
AND NOW: Instead of having revene generate back to the City...they will get "nada". And the cycle spirals downhill rather quickly. That's when property values of both homes and businesses REALLY start to plummet. This process as described to ZD by the cafe owner is called, "destabilization" and like Grand Funk Railroad...it's comin' to your town. (But it won't be to "party down"!)
So I have made the decision, as of today...Community Destabilization Prevention will be the Top Job as Mayor of Los Angeles in '09. Things are bad enough as it is.
It starts here and here with this!
COMING NEXT: How to achieve the goal of "Community Destabilization Prevention" by ZD

Celebrate the Flag(s) and Freedom!
That tiny notation at the bottom of your calendar tells you today is indeed Flag Day.
And while many Angelenos are inadvertently and loosely interpreting that to mean "stick a Lakers flag on your car" it is actually (and obviously) a bigger deal on a national level. Besides waving your own Stars and Stripes or taking part in a parade, it's tough to commemorate the adoption of the flag.
To the north of us, at the state capitol building in Sacramento, the California Arts Council along with the "U.S. Postal Service and dozens of other organizations" will be unveiling "the California Imagination banner, a rendition of the state Bear Flag representing the arts of California," according to StreetInsider.com .
The banner reflects a melding of hundreds of images from the arts gathered all over California, and today is the first time artist Jillian Kogan will share the final piece and stories behind its making in public.

Your friend Zuma has as much chance of being mayor of Los Angeles as he does of cadging a meal, gas money or latte money from me.

So, why endulge the weirdo in his fantasy? Nothing else to print here?

Yeah, let's slam Anshutz for making a few bucks here. After all, except for bringing us a great stadium for basketball, hockey, and other indoor sporting and entertainment events like concerts, what else has he done?
Who cares that we have no conventions and thus no income accrues to our businesses or taxes to our governmental bodies? Anshutz is building out a bunch of hotel rooms to enable our loser convention center to operate profitably instead of losing millions a year, for which we, as taxpayers, pay the freight.
But, I mean, what has he done for us lately?
Let's run his rich ass out of town with the rest of the Fortune 500 companies we've thrown away so we can have no corporate tax base at all, just us poor individuals paying the taxes.
Better yet, let's just give the whole place back to Mexico and let THEM pay for all our illegals; hell, they are THEIR citizens, anyway.
Viva La Raza.

Hey Zuma, if you're elected Mayor (Anybody but Tony!) will you please let the remaining lonely elephant named Billy go to a sanctuary? Stupid Tom LaBonge is wasting our money AND perpetrating cruelty on a beautiful creature. He stinks and Villaraigosa stinks. Go Zuma!
