Walter Moore Raises First $100,000

Mayoral candidate Walter Moore announced Thursday night that he has raised $100,000 in his grass-roots campaign for Mayor, putting him 2/3 of the way towards his goal of $150,00, thus qualifying him for City matching campaign funds and giving him street cred to enter candidate debates. Moore issued the following statement.

Tonight Kevin James successfully rallied his audience to put my campaign in six-figure territory: as of 11:31 p.m., people have contributed $100,265 to my campaign.

Let me take this opportunity to thank all of you who have contributed, and all of you who have explained to friends and neighbors why they, too, should contribute. No one wants to be the first couple on the dance floor, and no one wants to contribute to a candidate until he's "viable."

As Mayor Villaraigosa is off on a junket to Israel, Joe Mailander perfectly delivers the State of the City and the LAUSD changes the rules of the game in Sunland-Tujunga, now is the time for all citizens - whether you support Walter Moore or not - to stand up to this corrupt, useless, shady local government.

Home Depot gets to use our schools for their "Not for Profit " Activities.
Now this outrage from a district that has probably done more to "dumb down" the children than any other in the country?

Striking out the words do not change the ultimate aim of the activity. It simply is "for profit". What other reason can there be?
It's time to get a restraining order and put an end to this.
A thorough investigation must be conducted to sniff out who profited from the "Not for profit" enterprise. What contacts were made to give Home Depot access to our educational properties?

Maybe some one from LAUSD thought it would benefit the community. After all - If you're one of the lucky 50% that complete 12 years of education in the LAUSD, that's all you would are qualified for IMO. They should change the graduation gown to an orange apron.

Congrats, Walter! 9:47's comment is a sign that you're on the right track.

Let's now try to get this movement some momentum to the greater public.

Momentum? Movement? What movement? Time time to get the momentum going was between the last time he ran and now. There is no momentum and it's too late for him to create any. With everyday that passes, the only ones who will credible candidates are those with tons of money or tons of name ID.

How long did it take Moore to raise 100K?

Some people enjoy the attention they get when they're "maybe" running, like Feuer and Huggy Hertzberg admitted, and so does Caruso -- but eventually these people want some commitment from the candidate, and essentially both sides are waiting to see what the other does. (If Janice Hahn includes herself in this group, she's seriously delusional -- family name/ ID can't overcome her own mistrust in money circles.)

After this circle jerk time, when the candidate realizes the "supporters" don't have the money and clout to beat the other guy -- usually the incumbent -- they have to finally, regretfully, give up their 15 minutes and go back to everyday like.

Previous poster is right, the window to jump into an election is long over -- for better or worse, we've got Antonio for another 4, or less if he runs for Gov in 10. Or unless Obama gives him a job.

And as for Joe's lamenting the trip to Israel in thread after thread of his, at least the Jews are a check to the wacko Alarcon/Reyes/Cardenas machine, and Nunez is out, so after the Fuentes Fiasco, Padilla had better lie low. (Alarcon and Reyes have NO sense of this, however -- i hope their own blatant socialist racism, combined with rampant greed for themselves benefiting from their motions and bills, will bite them in the ass.)

Moore announced on March 9th of last year, so it took him 461 days to raise the $100,000. As I predicted, he will make the $150,000 in time for the campaign season.

Now Mayor Villar can easily raise $100,000 in one hour. However when you consider that all of Walter's donations are small contributions its incredible he's raised what he has. Now that he's reached this threshold more people will donate and he can use some of this money to do further fundraising.

Yes, lots of small donations . . .

GOOD JOB, Wacko Walter (Mayor Sam's original blog team coined THAT nickname, back when they had Wacko listed among the gadflies with that racist Hal Netby (Negly? Notby?)

Next year, in the compund in Idaho, Wacko (Shalom and Great Spuds)!

When is the first filing? Last time, a total of 14 people contributed to his mayoral campaign.

What do you figure his odds of winning are?

Small technical note:

If Walter Moore receives matching funds great -- and yes he is eligible to debate in an ethics commission sponsered debate.

However, if the Mayor has not other real opponents he could decline matching funds and thus while the commission could sponser the debate the Mayor is under no obligation to attend.

Which means no press will cover it.

I love it how these idiots think Villaraigosa is a shoe-in.

I can't WAIT to hear how he explains his policy fuck-ups, and the Mirthala fucking.

Can't wait. Seriously. No one can wait. What exactly will he say? That this is a "private matter"? Lots of luck. It'll be a reminder to all the Latinas that he's not worthy.

OH, I CAN'T WAIT.

I work at City Hall, and I can't stand this Mayor. Most everyone I know has their fingers crossed that he will NOT be reelected. I will give money to anyone who runs against him. He has done this city so much harm, and he caters to the illegals, which EVERYONE is sick of.
