R.I.P. Tim Russert

I have been a longtime admirer of Tim Russert and was saddened to hear that he died of a heart attack--at the young age of 58. Even though I get my daily doses of Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman, I always looked forward to Meet the Press on Sundays and especially his political coverage during the recent presidential primaries. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Big Russ and the rest of the family.

Thanks for the news that YOU admired Tim Russert.

Turning a story into how it impacts YOU is a "look at me" moment, when it should be about the STORY. NOT ABOUT YOU.

Russert was a great newsman. Matthews and Olberman are morons.

I suspect Headington has a "tingle" in his leg.

I'm devastated, but more importantly, the country has lost the last of the great political minds..a man with the utmost integrity, honesty in reporting, and incredible insight and extraordinary instincts.

Russert was above all...humble - never abandoning his roots and family. The love that he exuded for his father was unabashedly heart warming.

Russert was beholden to NO ONE...unlike the network and cable party shills of today's so-called pundits.

You can be sure that the presidential candidates have breathed a massive sigh of relief...knowing that they will never have to fact the voice of truth and consequences.

Rest in peace, Tim...you will be sorely missed and we will never see the likes of you again. No one will ever fill your spot at the table! You were a giant among us mere mortals!

I had the pleasure of meeting Russert during the LA Convention 2000 Democratic National Convention.

I loved watching his show then as I do Sundays, until now. Very sad.

He was a great father, husband, against all odds made something of himself. Tragic loss.

Oh please, Tim Russert was a right wing hack, taking his orders from the Bush crime family. Dickhead Cheney was on Meet the Whore every week trying to get us into that illegal war. He threw softballs at any and all Repugs, and really slammed the Dems.
