Sunday Notes on Illegal Immigration
The following are a few recent items concerning the topic of illegal immigration. Publishing them does not necessarily I agree with any of the views expressed.The former Fishwrap of Record may have got cold feet about allowing comments on their piece logging 40 views on Special Order 40. According to Mayoral candidate Walter Moore, the Times deleted his comments as well as those of others. Maybe there were too many comments from Don Quackers?
Debate continues over our comment whether Edwin Rivera, the alleged shooter of SWAT Officer Randall Simmons, was an illegal alien or not. Though the Los Angeles Times reported Rivera's uncle as saying he was born in the United States, a story on an El Salvador newspaper site quotes his sister as saying that Edwin was born during a return visit to El Salvador after the family had first emmigrated to the US. Another site with a now expired link quotes another story from elsalvador.com that alleges that Edwin was undocumented. Whether or not Rivera was ever illegal; it is clear that the shooting of Simmons - unlike Jamiel - was not related to gang violence.
A report by a Tuscon television station claims that while a significant number of US born Latinos are opposed to illegal immigration and efforts to provide amnesty, most are afraid of speaking out for fear of being ostracized by others. "There are a lot of Hispanics that are upset about the illegasl just the same way as the Anglo population," a third-generation Mexican-American told KVOA television.
A report by Men's Health says that 59% of Americans see illegal immigration as a "very serious" problem and that 74% find the impact of illegal immigration to be negative.

Michael Higby, there's zero debate about it. Post the links to your so-called "debate". The Riveras were citizens. The father, brothers and Edwin ran a trucking company. They had drivers licenses. The only "debate" is about how much longer you can get away with race-baiting bull.
Who is this "health club" and where did their "facts" come from.
It's highly suspect.
1:36 You are in la la land. Having a drivers license doesn't vouch for citizenship. How many thousands of people did the workers at the DMV in Van Nuys give out illegally before getting caught. That isn't the only facility that was doing that. How about all the documents that can be purchased on the black market. Since when do we need to show citizenship when applying for a business license? The only true guarantee of legality is the original seal that is embossed on an original birth certificate.
It's not a health club it's a magazine.

Moore does have one comment on the L A Times site. If he had multiple ones they deleted those. Took a day for posts to show up at all. Maybe they delete the Don Quakers types.
The LA Times says it's not hard for illegals to get driver licenses. Many DMVs do this. It doesn't matter as like Michael Higby said the guy was not a gangster.

Maybe Men's Health isn't the Gallup poll, but those figures speak loud and clear. If it's valid then at least 26% of Americans think illegal immigration is a positive impact on the country, economy, etc. Those 26% maybe need to rethink the subject.

The paper version of the Times on 40 in Calif quotes one day laboror from Guatemala saying he's been in this country 5 years, and "I don't feel illegal, but the laws make me feel like I am." Hey, dude, that's what laws DO, they make you feel illegal if you ARE.
Another laboror says this will just be a rallying cry for May 1st, where they'll have to protest even harder. They didn't get the message from last time: the more illegals march and "demand" and put the cops in a tough spot and sue us the citizens, the more their efforts backfire.
Also quoted is Jack Dunphy, the cop alias blogger, who says the cops see the Mayor as pro illegal AND legal immigrants, and they won't touch illegals no how since they fear their careers are over if they do.
But cops won't talk on record, fearing retribution from "top brass" (just listen to Bratton on Zine or Jamiel's Law, and calling anyone who disagrees with him "immigration haters," pumping up the rhetoric). Too bad -- I used to root for Bratton to "do his magic" and clean up L A like he did New York. But then all New York state has 1 million total illegals, and the city has 4 times the cops.
Of course, we've always got Rocky, who managed to actually file a gang injunction against the San Ferds, taking a break from pandering to the Clear Channel/CBS Billboard company and whatever else he does.
I guess the Times should be thanked for even bringing up Special Order 40 today, and trying to be balanced about it. BUT, it was annoying to read all of the "for" people. The Pastor who thinks that illegal immigrants will be scared to come forward to report a crime obviously does not know how sick to death most Angelenos are of this rampant third world activity we see daily. I for one get angry just reading it. Who cares whether it will have a "chilling effect" on immigrants? I just hope it's not too late to turn back the tide. May 1st is going to be a doosy with pro-illegal immigrant marchers. I know that the LAPD will have tons of officers out there, once again using resources to coddle the illegal immigrant crowd instead of crime fighting.

Some Anti-Illegal Alien Groups are Mis-Managed.
I have been politically active since my first election that US 18 year-olds got to legally vote. As an active community citizen, I have been very worried about the rampant, illegal, uncontrolled, underground flow of 'guests', 'aliens' or 'foreigners' sneaking to our country and overusing our citizen's social services. They have come here to get money but others have come here as criminals and steal from our nation. Many take glutinous advantage of our US cultural generosity. Many do not become US citizens, even after living several decades in the US. Our nation can't survive this runaway and growing problem. Our resources and social programs are not available when citizens have to use them. Before this article gets to far along, I want to state that I welcome legal lawful US immigration from other countries and I welcome our new naturalized US citizens who want to add a positive diversity to our culture. But in a terrorist weapon of mass destruction post 9-11 world, smart people know that immigration laws have to be enforced, compulsory and protected by all our country's 'guests', citizens, employers and city government officials for so many important socio-economic-security-sovereignty reasons. It seems our immigration laws are not being enforced today, even post 9-11. It's a free-for-all run at the US borders since the 1980's. That is over twenty years of immigration chaos.
I have been a community political anti-illegal alien activist for over 5+ years. I am trying to do my part in correcting and influencing the unregulated immigration problem with emails, faxing, making speeches, attending rallies, and even more community work to fight public voter apathy. But, I have been very disappointed by experiencing some anti-illegals group's weak misguided leadership and mismanagement of their group's members. These clubs recruit new members off the Internet and at public events. And that is how I found them. This is my own viewpoint of my many years experience journey working in some specific anti-illegal alien groups. I don't know about any other groups other than the ones mentioned in this article. The anti-illegal alien immigrant club experiences has been a bumpy sad long road of discovery for many other new activists like myself. I will mentioned some points and observations from someone who has been 'outside' looking in and now joined 'The Mission'. Please take note of the facts in this article and be warned about falling into similar problems with these groups leadership. Around six years ago, my first step into illegal immigration activism was with 'Friends of the Border Patrol'. I went to one of their public events with my hope and energy. Then, I went to a local speaking appearance of their 38-year-old 'Friends of the Border Patrol' leader, A. Ramirez. His group was mostly based in the San Diego area and was a small group. I was not very impressed with his lack of group leadership, personal charisma and his amateurism in his club's matters. And Mr. Ramirez had a sad trait of constantly pandering to others for public money donations to this group. Unnamed news sources inside and out of the anti-illegal alien groups allege that thousands of public donation dollars collected for Mr. Ramirez' trips to Washington to speak before Congress were alledgedly misused for paying his personal pay. His leadership weaknesses prevented me from lending my full support to his grassroots anti-illegal immigration group. And I voluntarily left that group wanting to find another group locally handling this important immigration problem.
My next step into finding a local community activism group was with 'Save Our State'. Save Our State was founded by J. Turner, a Ventura country resident. It is said by other biographers that Mr. Turner's political activities started around his public steps in supporting Proposition 187. So, I went to one SOS public event with my hope and energy. It was a street rally event at a Burbank Day Laborer Center many years ago. Once there, I was happy to find so many multi-racial grassroots members sharing my same concerns about ending the un-controlled illegal alien immigration into Los Angeles and USA. Eagerly, I joined their website public forums to read about their upcoming events and share my immigration problem ideas. My SOS 500+ forum comments were signed off as 'califnative'. I was one of the highest posters on the SOS. I became very active at their public rally events. I was somewhat well known for my SOS themed promotional tasks. The SOS group had a very positive optimistic beginning. This grassroots group and Mr. Turner was getting national media credibility with several news organizations covering SOS public events with many press interviews. To help our cause, I produced several TV shows highlighting SOS's public immigration work with SOS guests being interviewed on the show with Chelene Nightengales' assistance.
This group's beneficial positive progress and influence was not to last. Right after Mr. Turner left the SOS and went to work for the anti-illegal alien group, FAIR (he has left them); the group's advocacy progress seemed to be severely compromised when Mr. Turner self-appointed an all new (non-elected) SOS "volunteer" leadership staff. Mr. Turner appointed Chelene 'Patriotic Dream' Nightengale to be the SOS new 'media consultant', then 'event producer', then 'managing director' and head forum 'administrator'. Ms. Nightengale was now directing the SOS. She was official SOS event producer and its news media spokesperson. But, she has no previous professional experience in any of these matters. She is a untrained volunteer staff intern given a classy job title and some responsibilities just as are the rest of the SOS staff persons. Ms. Nightengale work experience background has been alleged by an inside unnamed news sources as 'beauty contest loser, failed film actress, and recent divorcee with two minor children'. She has no professional working news media or public relations training. Self appointed 'AZ Patriot' Williams is SOS Internet website/forum administrator and self appointed 'Old Preach' Silva is SOS Regional Director. Unnamed sources inside this group allege that Mr. Williams is an alledgedly past unemployed homeless (lived sleeping on several SOS member's home floors) amateur Internet website designer ands manager. Unnamed news sources allege that Mr. Silva real work experience was as an alledgedly employed SF Valley taxi driver with little not-for-profit director's work experience.
But, I happily contributed to the SOS Internet forums at first. I posted ideas and comments with more and more difficulty. Soon, I was personally attacked, had my posts heavily censored and sometimes completely deleted, and my memberhsip account was suspended with no SOS staff explanation, even when asked. It seems that SOS forum leadership's censorship of my public forum ideas was initiated. I was seeing several other helpful thoughtful members posting their diverse valid opinions; only for those same forum contributors to be insulted, personally attacked, and they're public activism smeared and belittled by forum SOS MoDs. Just some of those NOW ex-SOS members are: Mac, ss187, michealsavage4prez, Standing Alone, Viking, BorderRaven, Boderwatch, GSBamerica, mustdeport, SZinWestLA, Sandinator, AmericanPatriot77, Foothillpages.com, LatinafortheUSA, CrazyWolf, American Spirit, NoMoreFreebies, Califnative, mycountrytisofthee, RebelWays, LetFreedomRing, Birdsong, and many more. Also when unethical SOS Terms of Service violating forum post activity was openly engaged in by SOS forum Mods and AdMs; I knew there was a deeper leadership corruption problem. SOS leadership banned informative and innocent members with the forum moderator's clique's gleeful gloatting assistance. Due to this abuse of memer's freedom of speech, some members have just left the club and stopped forum posting: jalira, ohighlass, and hundreds more. Many of these SOS staff clique members having such pretentious forum handles as "One Inch Group', 'Press One for English', 'Drums for me 7', "Arizona Patriot', 'Fed Up in LA', 'mike in L.A.' 'Old Rebel', and 'Pocho Patriot'. I have found it frustrating that some over talkative club leadership members seem to show more unimportant keyboard 'flash', than concrete public activism.
Now with an antagonistic SOS attack-dog moderating forum staff in place, this forum would not allow thoughtful free speech to be expressed without punishing posters with permanent SOS membership and/or secret repetitive unending banns. By reading the forum moderators staff's own posting wild political views, seeing their crazy picture membership avatars, and their extremist authored threads; these forums are moderated by radical gun owners, paranoid Ron Paul supporters, rabid 9-11 Truthers conspiracy theorists, and hatred motivated over-nationalistic radicals. Here is some of their crazy, radical, anti-ethic SOS posted thread subject titles. Please take note ofr their titles: The Coming Battle, Border Patrol uses paintball guns on border, Shortage of Skilled Workers Looms in US, Scared out of My wits, More ethnic cleansing in LA, Mexican golfer pissing off People, CNN Video Illegals moving to Maryland, Cost of illegals: each $9,000, family (4) $36,000, Obama will end the space program, Enforcement blamed for unemployment among illegals. ( Mexicans with 11.3% unemployment), Illegals Riot in Lancaster Jail, Professor Armando Navarro is ready for war, Calderon's Latest U.S. Visit: More Macho Mexican Meddling, Police Chief Begs Illegals To File Complaints Against His Police, Richard & Karen Carpenter house in danger (again), Penis theft panic hits city, Gilchrist Attacks Digger's Realm And Grassroots As 'witch hunters, racists, law break, California Couples Nightmare Vacation, Calderon laughs about his relatives living in the USA ILLEGALLY, LA Mayor asks ICE to stop workplace raids, accept fake ID's from illegals, Scared out of My wits, Mexican Steals White House Cell Phones, Border Patrol use of horses, Machete-Wielding Gas Thief Nearly Severs Mans Arm.
These thread subjects are not rational or well thought out but very extremist and some are from a radical fantasy world. More mainstream well-thought-out SOS thread topics were openly discouraged by the leadership, because those thread writers are openly attacked by forum MoDs and SOS leaders then banned. The oldest members are the cream of the Jerry Springer Show opinionated moonbats. Is this rational for this (sarc) 'US Patriot's Forum'? I guess this is raw amateur 'grassroots' at work. But, is this biased SOS leadership unethical staff going to be helpful to this important principled national cause? I don't think so because there is no true SOS leadership with fair freedom ethics on many important levels in this group. Now the SOS has no or very little public credibility outside of its ever-growing banned ex-member alumni club or outside its rapidly shrinking general membership. This is real shame. SOS own leaders are damaging their own necessary community public work with their instituional corruption. The problem seems to be with the current weak SOS leadership staff and forum administrators. They exhibit extremely fragile egos that apparently need desperately to feed on any news media approval in the public national spotlight. Isn't 'The Mission' the real point? SOS staff wanting-any-public-fame will go to any extreme length to achieve any fleeting celebrity status as leaders. Once Ms. Nightengale came to the leadership, many longtime SOS members are secretly banned for posting useful opinions whose only flaw was that the posted forum opinion didn't come from the newly appointed SOS leadership staff. Those banned same longtime SOS members were falsely mis-identified as 'attacking the SOS staff ' and they were not. Instead of happily working with any general member's smart suggestions, SOS staff would be instantly annoyed that caused malicious membership banning. People are routinely banned for having a differing opinion from the leadership clique. How very petty of the amateur leaders, right? I still tried to post routinely but I was personally Chelene Nightengale publicly banned expressly for my 'divisiveness and negativity' opinion. I was quickly banned after all I had accomplished for 'The Mission and the SOS group's promotion to the public'. But, I felt good riddance to alledgedly arrogant hypocrites. The SOS leaders have made their own mess.
My next step into anti-illegal alien immigration activism was with the group called 'No More Invasion'. 'American Patriot77' Slater, a Los Angeles country resident founded this group. Mr. Slater started this new organization as Slater's personal response to his being SOS banned for his vocally disagreeing against the new leadership staff. Slater disagreed over the SOS amateur staff's upcoming event plans and media strategies. I went to my first NMI's public event. It was a street event at a Canoga Park Home Depot's Day Laborer Center a few years ago. Again, I had friendly feelings toward that event's many multi-ethnic attendees. There are about 300 Internet group members. I thought I would be better received with Mr. Slater due to our common frustrating SOS banning histories. Slater welcomed me. And for three years, I attended NMI public street events and later I was included in many NMI staff meetings. I designed NMI club's logo for its flyers and t-shirts NMIs fundraiser use. I received Slater's phone calls about NMI internal plans and helped Mr. Slater in many ways, publicly and privately. My NMI 500+ forum comments were signed off as seenitall. I was one of the highest 'top ten' posters on the NMI.
But, then I sadly began to see the same sick belligerent fame-seeking psychosis come over Mr. Slater's NMI leadership role, too. Slater was still a very close friend of OldPreach Silva with their shared 9-11 Truthers conspiratorial paraniod thoughts, Ron Paul support, amd belligerant attitudes towards any dissent. NMI's leadership was misguiding it's members by openly editing out important facts from posted immigration news articles, very much like the hypocritical SOS staff amateurs. The NMI forums are Gestapo-like moderated by Slater and NMI members are being banned at the smallest personal Slater vindictive whim. Many moderately opinioned people (a list too numerous to mention) are routinely banned for voicing and posting their views. Even for a politically conservative point-of-view group, these fantasy subjects are hysterical and viciously radical. Mainstream thinkers would have trouble with these frenzied doom-gloom negative topics with very little positive constructive ideas to solve our immigration matters.
In the begining, Mr. Slater would attend every public NMI event. He would attend with his alledgedly customary 'chip-on-his-shoulder' attitude towards anyone opposing him at the event. He seemed to enjoy baiting and starting near physical altercations with any opposing individuals. Sadly, I remember several times when this scenerio would routinely happen. At public events, I would try to explain to Mr. Slater that he was wasting his belligerant energies and his actions were only hurting NMIs growing credibility among anti-illegal alien circles. Other important NMI members like Sam 'SzinWestLA' would tell Slater to 'forget it and calm down'. Finally after several rally small confrontations, Mr. Slater was attacked and horribly hurt. He was hit in the head with a large concrete rock at a Canoga Park DLC rally. A vicious illegal alien laborer assaulted Slater with a thrown rock that caused a bloody deep head cut. The rock-throwing criminal got away but was arrested weeks later. This bloody head injury made Mr. Slater a hero and famous with the 'secure the borders' circles. In some naive 'secure the borders' clubs leader's minds, Slater's bashed head for 'the mission' somehow gave all his new public comments increased weight and validity. This is wrong thinking and can be easily challenged by thoughtful people. Slater's new fame seemed to go straight to his fragile ego and fame and he re-intensified his vendetta against anyone in NMI that rightfully & unashamedly disagreed with him and Dennis doesn't personally like. Slater is banning many NMI general members. One moderately opinioned member has publicly posted, "I feel like I'm in a cult. We can't even joke around anymore or argue without someone thinking we are not on their side." The oldest NMI members are the cream of the Jerry Springer Show opinionated moonbats. I was now on Slater's 'black list' for my pre-cautionary 'anti-fighting at rallies' thoughts to him and for my many helpful advisory posts on his website forum. I was quickly NMI banned. How very petty, right? I was gone. I felt good riddance to Slater and his unthinking apathetic NMI followers.
My experience tells me these facts. The people leading these 'enforce the immigration laws' groups (mentioned in this article) are made up of many differing leadership personalities. Some have very little administrative experience and education. Some of the leader's personalities are helpful. Other appointed leaders are antagonistic, unethical and selfish. Those antagonistic leaders are hurting 'The Mission' and should be replaced by elected leaders. Sadly, many other people and myself have been censored and banned by group's unwise and dishonest amateur error prone shameful NON-leadership. These reckless unethical leaders seem to be in this community mission task area to only win a silly personal popularity contest in the press media spotlight or wish to be popular within their group's members. The oldest members are the cream of the opinionated nuckledraggers. But, This is not about them personally. A leadership election change should be coming to remove the highly faulty staff. These non-experienced leaders are only becoming a national joke. The mission of combating illegal alien immigration is NOT. These article's groups members are made up of radical 'complainers' and/or little 'doers'. I have seen very little of the later. There maybe other better anti-illegal alien immigrant staffs, but I haven't experienced them directly. So, I am back on my own again. I welcome it. These groups have lost another valuable active member to add to the hundreds that I know that have been disillusioned and left. I work best by myself and can do more that way.
AT ALL TIMES, activists must look, act, and present themselves as well- spoken, grassroots multi-ethnic good folks who are working to correct the many related community problems starting from open uncontrolled borders.
I still recommend everyone interested in these anti-illegal alien community matters to get involved and do something positive. You must stay vigilant when dealing with amateur leaders of these groups. The mission of combating illegal alien immigration is really important. You must get community active to fight this problem. That way you are sure to be true about your fair activism ethics and you won't be a mindless pawn.
