Sunday Burro Droppings
Ron Kaye got a very nice Passover card from the Backstabbing Bachelor Nanny Lloyd Levine. Kaye said that Levine must have presumed he was Jewish. Of course the card was really a campaign piece for Lloyd's soon to be over run for State Senate. Kaye was offended by the card finding it pandering and useless as to telling voters what Levine's clear plans are if elected.
Joseph Mailander, Zuma Dogg and the Sister City all brought up something we've been talking about for a while - Mayor Villaraigosa's plan for a citywide personal income tax. It's been in the third floor crock pot for some time but it could be on this November's ballot. According to Captain Jack, the plan calls for "a 2.5% tax on income over $35,000 per year which would put at least $875 per income earning person into City coffers per year. " However, when you get your sample ballot, don't go looking for "Proposition Whatever - A Measure to Impose A Citywide Personal Income Tax." It will most likely be called the "2008 Act to Bring Hearts, Flowers and the Smurfs to Los Angeles." We've learned about that trick at least once and really twice.
The Hollywood Sign was actually built by real estate developers promoting a big housing project and now developers who own land adjacent to the sign want to develop it. You can imagine that has everyone in a tizzy.
A blogger refers to Ed Roski's plan to build a football stadium in the City of Industry as a "pipe dream" and opposes any public funding for the project. The blogger says one of the benefits for Roski however to build the stadium outside the City of LA is that "he will not have to deal with Mayor Television and the Bickering City Council."
Two bits of housekeeping. You may have thought that our use of various photos as a lead in to the hotsheet (as opposed to the usual picture of the old, dead Republican Mayor) is a rip-off of Joseph Mailander's hotsheets here on the blog and now at his new site, Street-Hassle. Guilty as charged. It was such a great feature I felt someone needed to keep it going at Mayor Sam. So now with both blogs you have two sets of photos to enjoy. The other item is you might have noticed a change in my byline. The old Mayor isn't going anywhere but in my continuing use of various Google products, I've decided to consolidate all my accounts under one name. As well, two other blogs I maintain, Downtown NoHo and Absolute Random Nonsense will be brought under the Mayor Sam Networks umbrella in an effort to provide you more content.

BOYLE HEIGHTS
Cab driver shot, killed in his car
A taxi driver who picked up a fare Friday night was found shot to death in his cab moments later, police said.
Andres Delamadrid, 37, crashed his cab in the 3400 block of Gleason Avenue in Boyle Heights after being shot in the chest, said LAPD officials.
The motive for his killing is under investigation.
LAPD Capt. Blake Chow said the car was an illegal, unlicensed taxi.

Mayor Villaraigosa is mini-me to Gov. Arnold in that they are both vultures, picking Los Angeles clean to the bone with taxes, fees, and over dense development.

Ch 2 News had featured a murder in Arlington Hts. of a Hispanic/Salvadoran security guard.
No video tape available, sadly. Isn't that where Jamiel Shaw lived? Could this be retaliation for his killing or past of that cycle of revenge, between 18th St. and the black P Stone gang?
If Bratton had admitted as Baca does, that there's been a gang war here for some time, and it's racial targeting innocents of the opposite race, they'd have cracked down earlier. Start with Jamiel's Law, getting rid of the illegals and you've eliminated half the equation. Then use the resources to go after the black gangs, too.
But if the cops don't control the streets, the gangbangers will.
Putting innocents like this simple, nice-guy security guard and Jamiel Shaw at the mercy of gangbangers is just plain criminal. (I hope the guard was legal, though -- I'd hate to think of the potential for abuse if illegals are being given guns.)

By lumping Mailander in with Zuma Dogg, in your first paragraph no less, you're not helping Mailander's reputation. Have you seen the Dogg at his most recent City Hall appearances/ disturbances? He clearly needs medication for ADD, starts shouting at the Council soon as he starts to talk because he can't concentrate. Then he launches into his personal attacks, which he claimed to quit.
You can't expect anyone to take this blog seriously this way.

Thanks for acknowledging that you STOLE Mailander's idea.
If nothing else, that's refreshing. Mailander's photos are much better, though.

I have absolutely no comment other than to say that I love that picture of the two burros.
I'm a sucka for burros.

You have no comment? That figures. Ask your SUV driving carbon expelling husband his view on a city income tax. Or better just have him write it himself. Doubt you could get it right.

Now that wasn't very nice to dis the Doll. But I approved it anyway to show what a clown you are. Keep calling me a racist and VD a ditz. You are so far from the truth.

1:37, really -- still on that same "Your Husband Drives an SUV and is Expelling Carbon OHMYGAWD!" kick?
Once again, you show your lack of reading comprehension, and I'm not going to slowly explain it to you again because I see you won't ever be able to retain it.
And really, I've been dissed by meaner, smarter, and better looking than you. Deal. Bitter Old Man/Woman Grumpus. Get offa my cloud.
And Mayor, feel free to post any and all Doll Dissings. I ain't afraid of no bullies no how.

I'm glad to see that the LEADERSHIP being shown by Joe Mailander has resulted in your FINALLY dropping the Mayor Sam moniker and you using your own name and photo.
That's what good competition is all about. You really should declare that anyone who writes pieces for this blog do the same. None of this DQ crap.
By the way, I thought that Zuma Dogg's recent appearances at City Hall are not only informative, but hysterical.
You guys are losing site of the fact that the purpose for Zuma's and Matt's and Mike's is also partially to disrupt these CLOWNS because they're not listening to people who meekly go there to share their views.
Please consider writing about this in the near future. Something better than what Joel what's his name at the Fishwrap did. I love Zuma Dogg's appearances. He sometimes comes THIS CLOSE to making Wendy Greuel cry, when she would otherwise completely ignore him and Matt.

6:31, you sound psychotic, no wonder you love the dogg's disruptions and almost making Wendy cry. Yes, being lower class and crude and buffoonish is definitely what serves our common interests at City Hall, and gives the city a boost above our national rep!
Guess you were also egging on the oaf who'd make farting noises in class and laugh at his own "jokes," driving the teacher to punish the whole class.
Yes, this is the role model for kids at LAUSD all right -- good thing the idiot is trying to reform LAUSD even though he can't get through half of a two-minute comment without starting to scream, yell and rant.
Actually, by now the Council probably loves it -- The Three Stooges have made themselves too irrelevant to matter. Personally, I hope they keep going -- the more Matt especially shows he's trying to provoke and be rude on purpose, the more he undermines his "case."
They may actually know this, but they can't help themselves.

That's unfortunate. I come to this blog for info relating to "Home of Los Angeles Politics", as indicated in your Mayor Sam byline. I don't care one wit about your personal life or your non-political opinions.
So, you've decided to "pollute" the blog, further than with Valley Doll, by folding in your personal musings. I won't waste my time reading them or wading through them. JMO. Buh Bye.

You're free to not read anytime, however I know you will continue to. If anything to wait for the occasional time that I reply to you.
If you have paid attention, I didn't say I was moving the other blog's content over here; that I was moving all my blogs under one Google account so I don't have to sign in to each one separately.
Now you can go play on the freeway.

hey 8:17 -- don't let the door slam you on the ass on yer way out. Reading comprehension helps here. Good luck attaining meaningful comprehension of your own.
heh.
