Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Monday

The Daily News reports that LAUSD only began to track the amount of lead in the water of it's campus drinking fountains six months ago. A group of parents at one local school undertook their own test and found water to have lead nearly eight times the United States Environmental Protection Agency's recommended levels.

Walter Moore has made the big time
. A Communist newspaper has said his support for Jamiel's Law is part of a right wing racist conspiracy to keep the working man down. In the same article they call for amnesty for all illegal aliens and claim the Los Angeles Police Protective League is "false union." Speaking of Walter Moore he reports that though the Mayor says we're in a budget crunch; Villaraigosa is spending 32% more in the City Budget than when he first took office.

NIMBYs won't like this but the LA City Council has voted to approve a billboard district along the 10 Freeway near the Coliseum and Staples Center. This plan will generate much needed revenue for services in the area; still "build absolutely nothing anywhere near anywhere" over 50 year old Anglo suburban Westside cranks will likely be against it, though it does not affect their neighborhood.

Britney Spears has apparently been working out and decided to show off her new body to paparazzi and beachgoers. Connection to politics? In the photos in this story what former City Hall staffer does the singer/actress bear a resemblance to?

Still stubborn and stupid on the billboard issue, Higby. Every single writer who's tackled the subject has realized that all billboards in the city ARE linked through the breaking of laws by ClearChannel/CBS and other co's. Their litigiousness is all they have to count on, besides your soulmate Rocky Delgadillo.

Those other second-string writers include Jill Steward and Christine Pelisek of the Weekly, and David Z and Patt Morrison of the Times. Don't know if any are over 50, but they're hardly considered bluehairs and gee whiz, sometimes those old folks who had educations back in the day can tell the wheat from the chafe... You gots so much class envy, Higby, no wonder you're with that mumbling fool Reyes and Perry.

Between this and your dumping other bloggers for zuma dogg, you're battin' 'em out of the park, huh, Higby?

Someone please post how much this May 1st illegal ailen march is costing the LEGAL resident taxpayers of this city??? You figure Sleazy Weasy Huizar's Fiesta Broadway that closed 18blocks of downtown ost $162.000. Its amazing this clown doesn't do anything at this magnitude for the LEGAL residents of his district. All the bands were SPANISH.

Look what those sneaky bastards are trying to do. Its like waiting for the pink bill then only paying half. Problem is this is our tax dollars and by waiting the city is getting penalized millions.

Again David Z does a great investigative story.
....But within City Hall, one proposal generating fierce debate is a little-known plan to delay an $81-million payment to the city's employee pension fund until next year -- a move criticized by some as an accounting gimmick.

Delaying that payment would cost taxpayers more than $15 million in penalties, according to a document issued Friday by the city's top budget analyst. By 2013 -- which could be Villaraigosa's eighth and final year as mayor, should he win a second term -- the rearranged payment schedule would have cost the city $85 million, a sum larger than the payment being delayed this year.

STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES

Looks like some ex fired blogger of Mayor Sam can you guess which one is upset about billboards. screw your issues with Rocky, just make sure anyone who committed a crime gets prosecuted.

it has nothing to do with billboards go after that company.

Oh and it's Stewart not Steward dickbrain.

"You figure Sleazy Weasy Huizar's Fiesta Broadway that closed 18blocks of downtown ost $162.000. "

that's a bigger crime than the bill boards you white people are upset about

The entire development issue is predicated on emotion and irrationality.

Higby's race baiting aside, the Neighborhood Council-Homeowner Crowd is typically not representative demographically of the community as a whole.

We need to specifically hear from the Latino youth after all this will be their city soon.

Can Jill Stewart really call herself an "objective" journalist?

She needs to take lessons from Ron Kaye or Joseph Mailander!

1:22 and 1:25 = same "this city will be ours soon" Latino bigot. No wonder he/ she wants everyone to leave Rocktard alone, the first-ever Hispanic City Attorney.

Doesn't matter to these anti-white classist racists, that ClearChannel is being made the hero by people too stupid to know a figure of speech (like "Dog and Pony Show" indignant Jan Perry), or recognize idiocy if it hits them on their bald, mumbling heads (Reyes anytime he opens his stammering mouth). Our city is owned tens of millions by crooks who put up crude, vulgar and dangerous signs and Fat Boy's attacking the "blue hairs." If only they'd drop dead already, you and the other uneducated masses could occupy their homes and turn L A into Castro's Cuba, right, Higby?

Doesn't matter how much he sucks or how much he's on the take, as long as it pisse off those "white people" and Higby, the fat fool who's an ageist (funny, how he's so sensitive when it comes to his weight) and classist from envy, is dumb enough to shill for them. What a bunch of bitter from their own failure lame asses this blog has come down to. Seems Higby's infected with whatever zuma and the matt and hunt have, and is passing on the virus anywhere he can.

1:25 do not be surprised. Most people in Los Angeles with college degrees earned locally are not educated. They have not been trained well in classicism, dialetics, logic, critical thinking, the list goes on.

The extent of their knowledge extends beyond that which they can pick up at say Whole Foods Market or Woodland Hills BMW.

Hence nary a political decision nor thought in Los Angeles is based on anything other than emotion, racism and greed. Unlike cities such as New York or San Francisco in Los Angeles there is no there there.

Hence the critical thinkers are represented by Jill Stewart, Mayor Sam, John and Ken, Larry Elder, etc.

I love Ron Kaye, but are you suggesting he was objective about the secession movement?

Jill and Joe need lessons from him?

I like all three of them a lot. They are all opinionated people. Sometimes we agree and sometimes we disagree and such is life with any other human.

Billboards are a terrible, terrible blight (graffiti magnets) and the worst part is that once you open the door in LA, you're setting precedent for them to be all over the 101, 405, 134, the rest of the 10 and the 110 and then you will be very, very sorry that you opened that door that Lady Bird Johnson worked so hard to make sure didn't happen. Can't they be happy they're all over our bus benches? Despicable urban blight.

the same people who fight billboards don't care if the government pays for a picture of jesus covered in urine and posts it outside of an elementary school.

I have to admit Sergio, I agree you are right and I'm one of them. Art is art and it will be gone soon. So whether you are being hypothetical or not, I would take the urine-covered jesus statue over the billboards on the freeways of Los Angeles. Billboards will invade and make us ugly forever.

Public outrage would get that statue removed and public outrage SHOULD prevent the billboards from going up.

We could all win.

The water must be the reason more kids are in special education. Lead gives brain damage. This way LAUSD gets more money.
