Hillary Angers Latinos by Firing Hispanic Campaign Manager
A leading Hispanic Democratic leader is fuming mad that Hillary Clinton has replaced her previous campaign manager, Patti Solis, with longtime advisor Maggie Williams, who happens to be African American.In an email blast to Democratic party members, Steven Ybarra head of the voting rights committee of the Democratic National Committee Hispanic Caucus and a "super" delegate from California had the following warning for the Clinton campaign:
"Apparently, loyalty is not a two-way street," he wrote. "Latino superdelegates like myself . . . will have cause to pause."
Ybarra told reporters that Clinton's termination of Solis, whose parents were Mexican immigrants, was "dumb as a stump."
This is in the wake of a series of Clinton losses in primaries and caucuses and her campaign pinning its strategy on winning delegate rich Texas in March, with the help of Latino voters. To this end, the campaign has sent longtime Villaraigosa flack and former Sister City blogger Michael Trujillo to handle the ground war in Tejas.

Clinton will lose Texas. It's a different world in Texas, and they see right through those phony politician types. Plus, Texas has a higher ratio of African Americans. And I think The Clintons will find Bill wasn't actually the first black president.
Sam, you and the rest of the readers on this blog were pretty quick to point out how racially biased and downright stupid were the community leaders who screamed that firing Gloria Jeffs for incompetence, a bad attitude and general insubordination, was disloyalty to the black community which elected Villaraigosa over Hahn.
How is this situation any different, other than this is a Latina, not a black person?
Hillary doesn't have a right to hire or fire at will, based on the quality of the work? NOT if it's a Latina? How racist is that?

HILLARY CLINTON SHOULD STEP DOWN: Billary should step out of the way of the Democratic nomination and step down with dignity the way Edwards and Romey (on the Republican side) did for the good of the party. With McCain now the virtual nominee, the Democrats need to move forward, too, and all Clinton is going to do by hanging around is divide the party. If she cares about the country, she should do what's best for the party, and step down and let the nominees get started.

I'm a democrat and a Mexican American who although voted for Obama will definitely vote for Hillary if she ends up our candidate. And if Hillary fires her Campaign manager that's her call. I don't fault her for that, she's falling behind Obama and something has to be done to stop the hemorrhaging. Hey the buck stops with the top dog and if that person happens to be a Latino then so be it. Sometimes when you play you got to pay.
Nice that a Latina got to be in that high a position on Hillary's team.
Hillary or Obama will probably appoint another proud Latino to either VP or Sectary of State, Gov Bill Richardson of New Mexico.

PS Texas Mexican Americans are no different from Calif Mexican Americans, in fact when in El Paso or San Antone you might think you were on the east side of LA.
A huge exodus of Mexican Americans from Texas in the 20's 30's and into the 1950's make up a large percentage of the LA Mexican American population.
Ohio might be hard, because it has fewer minorities. As Jonah Goldberg says, HIllary does better in states that are the most ethnically diverse because people are realistic about race relations and so is she. Obama can talk all kinds of crap about a "post racial America," but when you have l A blacks jumping over a Latino Mayor for firing a horrendous city employee like Jeffs as "dissing the black community," when the same thing is said about this Solis thing from Ybarra and ethnocentric Hispanics, when the Sharptons and Jesse Jacksons accused the Duke 3 as guilty without any evidence, when you see the real tensions on our streets and in our schools == only those completely distanced from reality buy Obama's crap.
Whether they're the wealthy in Bel Air and the Palisades who only see their Hispanic maids and gardeners or blacks at a Lakers game, or the middle class in Ohio who have few of either race -- these are the people who buy Obama's empty crap.
The people who know, from workers in Boyle Heights to those stuck in our public schools, choose Hillary.

First Read friend Josh Green of the Atlantic Monthly -- whose GQ article Team Clinton infamously spiked -- has a very good piece on Patti Solis Doyle's ouster as manager of the Clinton campaign. Do read the entire article, but here is the gist:
"For the many people in and around Washington who obsess over the latest machinations in Hillaryland, the firing of Solis Doyle—and she was fired, several insiders confirm—is a big deal, but for reasons somewhat different from what the media coverage has suggested. Her title of 'campaign manager' implies a loftier role than the one she actually played. She is the furthest thing from a Rove-like strategic genius (Mark Penn inhabits that role for Hillary), so her leaving doesn’t signify an impending change of strategy, as some reports seem to assume. My dialogue with my sources left me with no doubt Tuesday night (Oct. 30) that Hillary’s made passes at women and that Muslim Huma Abedin is Hillary’s most likely source of romantic and sexual love.

If you look at her photo to the left you can understand why she would want a little extra of that.
I have been receiving emails about Huma - one came for a Department of Justice computer (ISP) stating this: "I am close enough to both Hillary and Huma to know that it is an open secret on the campaign that those two are romantically involved. It is something you will never get them to verify though…"
Also Dick Morris let it slip once when he said Bill would get off on his affair with Lewinsky if he came out and said Hillary is gay.

South Texas , rich in latino, I mean Hispanic Property owners , are going to vote for Hillary Clinton. Most of your Tejanos North of San Antonio and Corpus Christi are very conservative and the License for immigrant thing did not help Obama when he tried pandering to the Latinos here in California during that last debate in Hollywood on that issue.
We should be asking ourselves how Latinos in Texas will vote in the presidential election. This will tell the difference between California and Texas. They don't have free anything over there. So they for the most part will vote republican in that election and I believe Mccain will take Texas in the next presidential election.
Hillary will take the democratic delegates in Texas. Arkansas is a border state and Tejano Hillbillies and Arkansas hillbillies stick together. I myself being a red neck mexican boy, I remember when Ann Richards was the Governor of the State of Texas. Culturally Texans and Tejanos don't have a problem with a matriarchy , so this is another reason Hillary will take Texas.

Today he'll address the Legislature in Sacramento and visit the Napa Valley, then be greeted at LAX by Mayor Villaraigosa at 6:30 pm. Dinner follows at Getty House for Calderón, his wife Margarita Zavala and invited guests. It's the first official visit to L.A. for Calderón.

I saw the same thing here in LA when I voted, family in NM said there was such a massive turnout that they ran out of ballots in many districts. Even my old compa from LA who is in the Republican stronghold of Idaho says in his little town every Democrat came out to vote.
This tells me a couple of things, one the people of the country are sick and tired of the way the country has been run by the Bush Admin and the Republicans and the operative words are "we want a change".
Anytime there are record numbers of voters it's bad news for the Republican Party and even though McCain seems like a decent enough guy he comes off like just another old Republican surrounded by other old Republicans pushing the same old tired agenda. Yesterdays papers, bad news and all.

BUT...Solis LIED and tried to cover it up!!! Mistake #One.
When it was discovered, the campaign staff went into a rage, unlike anything you have ever seen. After doing their investigation into the Solis finance fiasco, they discovered that Solis had spent $500M just on parking accomodations for the staff! She blew practically the entire war chest!
When Hillary found out she had to put $5M of her own money out, and is now begging supporters for more money.
Solis was FIRED because she was a LIAR, and INCOMPETENT, and because she MISAPPROPRIATED FUNDS AND BLEW THE WAR CHEST!!!
BUT the worst thing is that ALL of the ethnocentric Mexicans, including Villar, are pissed because Hillary fired a LATINA! It doesn't matter to these corrupt Mexicans that Solis BLEW $150M of Hillary's money, and will be the reason she loses the election! It only matters that Hillary FIRED A LATINA!!
