When will Mayor Sam let Don Quixote be a regular reporter on this blog? I really missed all the stories about Don Quixote being a young cholo and a victim of the gavachos and republicans. But his best stories involved eating menudo with the LAPD cops or EME carnales.
We can only dream about the possibility.
What does it take for a nice quiet foothill community to have gangs and shootings like the ghetto city of Los Angeles. Could it be the increase of illegal aliens and mexicans.

Monrovia police seek to curb rise in activity

MONROVIA - A spate of violence that left one man dead and a teenager wounded are acts of retaliation on the part of rival African-American and Latino gangs, authorities said Tuesday. The activity in Monrovia continued late Monday when three men were shot at but not hit. Police announced an arrest in the case Tuesday and acknowledged an increase in gang violence over the past several months. "This is a particularly bad time," Monrovia police Chief Roger Johnson said. "There are rival gangs going at each other. It's a very bad time." The string began Saturday night in unincorporated Monrovia when a black 16-year-old student at Monrovia High School was shot in the lower body. The shooting occurred at 4:10 p.m. in the 9000 block of Peck Avenue, Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said. One day later, Sanders "Pete" Rollins, 64, a black man, was fatally shot on his front lawn while walking toward the front door of his Sherman Avenue home. In both cases, the suspects were described as Latinos. Then on Monday night, police arrested a black man identified as Vernon Primmer, 31, of Fontana after a drive-by shooting targeting three Latino men outside a home in the 200 block of West Cypress Street. No one was injured, but a bullet tore through the back of one of the men's jackets. "These were all incidents of targeted retaliation," said Dick Singer, Monrovia city spokesman. "They are not shooting at random. They are looking for specific people and shooting at specific people." More specifically, police believe growing tensions between the Duroc Crips gang and the Monrovia Nueva Varrio gang are behind the shootings that have left many residents asking questions. "This neighborhood is really going downhill," said a Cypress Street resident Monday night. The resident asked not to be identified for fear of retaliation. "I guarantee if this was the northern end of town, this wouldn't be happening." Monrovia police Lt. Richard Wagnon said Monday's shooting may have specifically been retaliation for Rollins' slaying. Rollins had no gang affiliation, officials said.
"We just expect it because that is just the way gang retaliation works," said Officer Dorothy Percy, who was one of three officers rotating through Monrovia High School throughout the day Tuesday as part of an increased police presence in the school district. Parents of students at the school received a phone message Monday from the district informing them of Saturday's shooting involving a student - known to friends as "Day Day" - Monrovia Unified School District Superintendent Louise Taylor said.
An additional letter explaining the incident was also sent out Tuesday, she said. Increased police patrol at that school as well as at neighboring Canyon Oaks High School and Santa Fe and Clifton middle schools will continue over the next few days, according to officials. "We just wanted to be cautious, and we are in close communication and collaboration with Monrovia Police Department," Taylor said. "We notified all the principals and said, `Please, just be observant. Let us know if you see any unusual activity." All permissions this week for students to leave Monrovia High School during the lunch hour have been canceled, she said. Taylor did not anticipate any retaliation at the school, and said all was quiet on campus Monday and Tuesday. "We are not aware of where this ends or how far it goes," Singer said. "But we are working very, very hard to try to stop it." While both Taylor and Percy said they did not believe the violence had infiltrated the schools, students told a different story. "It's been going on forever," said Monrovia High student Absam Shalabi. "Like in class, they are always talking about blacks versus Mexicans." Mayor Rob Hammond said he did not believe racial tensions were erupting in Monrovia, but did say that the city is working on addressing the recent violence. "It's troublesome for an entire community," he said. "When something happens in one portion of the community, it affects the entire community." Hammond said residents should be vigilant.
"If you see something unusual," he said, "call the police, and maybe it's the pre-emptive strike."
Mexican gang members are now killing innocent 64 year blacks in Monrovia, just like the Florencia mexican gang members did in Huntinton Park and Florence, south of Los Angeles.

MONROVIA - Tears filled Mary Youngblood's eyes when she recalled pulling up to her house to find her brother fatally shot on their lawn Sunday night.
"I didn't know who it was when I pulled up," the 59-year-old woman said Monday afternoon. "All I could do was just cry."
Her brother, Sanders "Pete" Rollins, 64, who she lived with on Sherman Avenue, was killed yards from the front door, family members said.

This pet project, Proposition 93, is spearheaded by Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez and Senator Don Perata because it will extend their time along with 40 other colleagues.
According to Steve Poizner the proposition has a CLAUSE that allows legislators to serve two decades. For example: if a senator has served 8 years in his/her current position. This same senator can be elected as an assembly member and allowed to serve 12 years under Proposition 93.

JM your one of your previous blogs spoke to the issue of Lobbyist's and their influence on local LA politics. I posted up some info on Lobbyist's I have done business with and have seen in action.
Unfortunately you had to "delete" that post and comments related to it, unfortunate, because in my humble opinion Lobbyist's and the juice and money they control are probably the biggest evil and corrupting influence that the people of the United States are faced with.
And if anyone is in doubt then take the time to check out who's representing these Lobbying concerns, it's almost always someone who was a former elected govt official or had an appointed position in some govt officials cabinet. This type of cronyism is rampant and totally corrupting.
Money and Power, the mothers milk it seems, that determines what our "Representatives " will support and attempt to shove up the ass of the people, who these succubi and incubus's have nothing but contempt for apparently.
All our country's problems and ills the economy, immigration, Iraq, crime and punishment, health care, truthfulness in the media, etc; can be traced indelibly back to groups of Lobbyist pimps and the undue influence they have on our corrupted system of representative govt.
But as I step down from my soapbox I'll share this latest story of a former Representative who became a pimp for some Lobbying concern, and he's just a pimple on an elephant's ass in the totality of the corruption of our govt and economy.

WASHINGTON — A former congressman and delegate to the United Nations was indicted Wednesday on charges of working for an alleged terrorist fundraising ring that sent more than $130,000 to an al-Qaida supporter who has threatened U.S. and international troops in Afghanistan.
Mark Deli Siljander, a Michigan Republican when he was in the House, was charged with money laundering, conspiracy and obstructing justice for allegedly lying about being hired to lobby senators on behalf of an Islamic charity that authorities said was secretly sending funds to terrorists.
The 42-count indictment, unsealed in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Mo., accuses the Islamic American Relief Agency of paying Siljander $50,000 for the lobbying _ money that turned out to be stolen from the U.S. Agency for International Development.
The charges paint "a troubling picture of an American charity organization that engaged in transactions for the benefit of terrorists and conspired with a former United States congressman to convert stolen federal funds into payments for his advocacy," Assistant Attorney General Kenneth Wainstein said.

We know how anxious you become in a voting year Anonymouse. If vote fraud is a concern of yours, I respectfully ask what have you done about it? Also respectfully would you be overwhelmed if your favorite candidate had given his all, to serve only him or herself? These people are social butterfly's and commune with lots of people in their political lives including wealthy people. Candidates also converse with these wealthy peoples, very intelligent and wise friends...these influences and offers, of the most rich, are most promising and rewarding to the politicians. And on that note the political race is like the motion pictures industry. You have Academy Award nominated movies, and you have movies of people having sex. In either case it is all an act and after the movie is completed and all the lines spoken, the actors go back to their lives separate from the cameras and publicity. It is all a fraud and a show of arrogant self interest. Possibly severe cases of megalomania. This is my opinion. But I think when all is said and done in all the worlds governments, the leaders are much more likely followers. Even followers chasing their tail's leadership like Shih Tzu's...Respectfully, a happy nervous breakdown to you Barf.

I've voted from "the lesser of two evils" standpoint my whole life, only to realize that both were equally full of BS. All politics are BS, and all politics are local (Doug McIntyre). In a system this corrupt I doubt anyone is strong enough to make much difference. Or if they are, they quickly become hosting pods, exempli gratia/in effect from the "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1956)" (thank you Don Quixote). Consequently, the only philosophy that I can say that I live my life by is, "Neither a follower nor a leader be" (unless its intromissione at the opera and b-lining it to the bar). I hear now days, its, Lead-follow-or get out of the way (Cadillac). If folk haven't figured out by the time they're 20 that their lifetime is their most precious commodity, and how they spend that lifetime is very very important, then anything I say would be fairly pointless. I still believe people choose the vacuous American lifestyle because they like it. The humanity I work with all have cell phones. They play with them endlessly, hour upon hour. Constantly up-grading to new phones every few months. They tell me I'm a dinosaur because I refuse to own one. I give my best T-Rex roar & laugh, confident that the book I'm reading while they diddle their phones will have a bigger pay-off for me than their phone will ever have for them. Of course, I could be wrong, but I'm willing to live with it. (-;

I NOW OFFICIALLY HAVE A STALKER.
It appears someone using my names Wally Fay (screen) and Tony Rafael (print) is posting comments on the Mayor Sam website (possibly other places) and trying to make me look like a racist goon. I was just made aware of this and the person who runs that site has promised to delete all comments coming from anyone using those names. I guess you don't need to be as visible as Brad Pitt or Madonna to attract stalkers. And, just like those two, I'll go to the legal mat if required. Will it be necessary to file suit? To paraphrase Claude Rains in Casablanca, "I'm afraid Colonel Strasser will insist." In this case, it's my publisher that will insist.
And just so you know, I'll be kept from posting until at least Feb. 4. Other projects cooking.
