LAUSD Parental Outrage Hits ZD's Inbox and City to Start Illegal Vending Crackdown Tomorrow Morning (Saturday)

Either ZD and Mayor Sam's blog is getting more popular, or the City is getting a lot shadier. Because I'm having a nervous breakdown from all the phone calls and emails I have been getting these past couple weeks -- and especially, this past week.

LAUSD: An LAUSD parent came across one of my threads, and they contacted me -- then they passed my info on to another parent...and it all kinda snowballed from there. Let's just say there is extreme parental dissatisfaction in the Valley regarding what is happening this year under the new school board. And some safety issues that didn't just pop-up over night -- but is escalating, and the parents who have contacted me feel like they are being stone-walled this year when it comes to parental input and scholastic reaction. (I'll basically be taking all the emails and faxes and compiling them into a thread for this weekend, if I can keep my A.D.D. in check...so stand by for that, for all who spent time on the phone filling me in and taking time to type up waaaaaaaay too many detailed and extensive emails.

MORE ON "LAUSD PARENTS SPEAK OUT"

VILLARAIGOSA'S PUSHES NEW AFFORDABLE HOUSING PLAN:
And it's a change in plans for Antonio's hard "NO" regarding inclustionary affordable housing being forced on developers, to a "let's do it" approach. How shady the whole thing will become, or if it is on the "up and up" will probably be discussed by Mayor Sam readers. But first, take some time to read the LA Times article on this plan, ZD will dig up some archive threads on this topic. (And will ZD's "affordable housing" coach please check their inbox.) full story

ILLEGAL VENDING UPDATE: Those who feel the City's illegal vending policy (the fact that they allow it to go on) is hurting the City in many ways will be glad to know that CM Jose Huizar and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa plan on doing something about it starting tomorrow morning (Saturday) at Ramona Gardens.

CITY PHONE TAX: YIKES! And remember pollsters...it doesn't matter what they say today on the phone before the NO campaign starts. Of course they will say, "Yes" to 9% compared to 10%" on the phone. But wait till the radio talk shows, newspapers and TV ads hit. That might sway some folks. We'll see.

FABIAN "NUCKLEHEAD" NUNEZ: If any publicity is good publicity, you're getting a whole lot of good publicity. [NEW AUDIO: Big Joe from East LA calls into Kevin James Radio Show on KRLA 870 and not only scores points with Kevin, but triggers an avalanche. YIKES!]

AND TO EVERYONE WHO SENT ME AN EMAIL THIS WEEK: I WILL BE READING THEM ALL, CATCHING UP ON ALL OF IT, AND BLOGGING IT HERE THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND AS LONG AS MY A.D.D. DOESN'T FLARE UP. (I know you worked hard on these issues in the community, and you took time to type up an email and send it to me...so I at least wanted to put this thread out there so you know I didn't forget.

AND REMEMBER...it's 25-28%, not 13...and they DID get a raise last contract. And if any elected officials or journalists wanna double check their facts, or even get the facts in the first place, feel free to email me at zumadogg@gmail.com or call me at 310-928-7544 and I'll be glad to answer your questions or share info with you.

meanwhile the new Venice beach vending ordinance hit the table in federal court today (they expect us to analyze and report on it after they email to you the night before!!!)

anyway, Carol Sobel pointed out that the way its written, it will be illegal to walk along any beach, stop, set up an easel, and paint.

great going chity attorneys....will you give it up one day? try another career, one that doesn't involve federal law.

go practise on the illegal vending that you are allowed to enforce.

Does anyone take notice - or care that Tamar Galatzan lied to parents, voters. After AV backed candidate flooded the area with mailers day after day, stating that if she were elected she promised to devote her life to the students of LAUSD. TAMAR GALITZAN NEVER LEFT HER JOB AS A CITY ATTORNEY TO KEEP HER WORD. SHE IS A PART TIMER.

RECALL ANYONE?????
OR DOES NO ONE CARE?

I did hear this week that some city hall staffers were a little too loose in the lips in discussing "tamar for wendy's council chair when wendy runs for controller" strategy. that kind of talk reeeeeeeeaally annoys the parents because they feel the mayor is using the LAUSD school board position to groom tamar for a council seat (on their kids time) -- and when it comes time for home depot to get LAUSD's approval (since it is only 450 feet away from a school...Tamar will be saying, "Hell yeah"...when even Wendy is saying, "Hell No."

So the parents feel Villar is using the kids, parents, school system and community as a whole to run his political chess board -- all for his own good...not the community's or society's.

TONY, my man...don't think you can walk into the sunland-tujunga community with your shady back of parental stonewall tricks -- and start changing the very nature of the community without SERIOUS parental and community opposition.

It's a small, tight knit community...everyone knows everyone...and they are not at all fooled by the stonewall b.s. treatment the Villargarcia school board is giving them.

You may be beating them, but you aren't fooling them. Sure, they contacted me because they saw one of my LAUSD stories from July warning about this new LAUSD school board. But contact me they did.

AND DAMN IT, ANTONIO!!! YOU'RE MAKING ME HAVE TO READ!!! AND FOR THAT I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!!!

Everyone knows, Zuma Dogg graduated high school, just barely -- and doesn't like to have to read.

But you are causing Big ZD to have to read a lot of parental emails.

And listen to a lot of phone conversations. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS AN EYE-OPENER THAT I APPRECIATED, BECAUSE I AM OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE SCHOOL SYSTEM, THESE DAYS...And things sure have changed.

But now, some parents feel that certain schools are being sent all the kids kicked out of other schools -- and it is hurting the community. And now...they are scared to send their kids to school. And that's when they start demanding Charters...shady, or not.

HERE'S A SAMPLE OF THE STUFF I AM GOING THROUGH.

ZD's inbox: I know you're a busy kinda guy. [ZD: LOL! ZD perceived as a busy guy!] Actually, since I have your ear ... I'd like to speak with my PTA President, my UTLA Teacher Representative, and my Principal and let them know that if there is anything else (concerns, challenges, etc.) they'd like to get out on the table, now is the time to do it.

AND THERE ARE SERIOUS PROBLEMS WHEN ZD GETS AN EMAIL LIKE THIS:

The Parents thank you for your help. Just the attention you have given it, is more than most of them get from the administration.

[How could anyone who hears this stuff NOT want to give this issue attention? And to think the people not giving them the attention are LAUSD administrators.]

Great work, ZD. That IS quite a revelation. Amazing that some parents aren't happy with an LAUSD school, or charter school, or pre-school. Especially since ALL parents are happy ALL the time, right?

you'd be surprised at the level of parent, teacher and administrator dissatisfaction district-wide. To belittle the issue as merely a matter of random "unhappy parent syndrome" is to ignore the sounds of distant drums coming from the direction of the Valley.

The natives are getting restless.

Don't forget to add Tony's soon to be ex wife to the list of who was used. He used her school teacher image, like being married to a teacher meant he had his ear to the pavement. Goodness knows he couldn't refer to his own educational history.

Try to get soem of those whiners to drop some money on you for your efforts, and see how fast the "love" disappears.

Most folks will take stuff for free readily, especially if all they need to do is flatter some fool and make him feel a little important.

ZD, you are wasting yuor life (if you choose to call it that) tilting at windmills.

It took Antonio a long time to pass the State of California Bar but "BARELY". He has never practiced, and abuses the CONSTITUTION OF THE FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENTS.

Why are you proud and defend a low life, graft ridden individual? Are you on his payroll too or still on his payroll?

But luckily 99% of the people can see that, including the parents who grab their kids when he goes near.

Zuma, you do NOT look like a perv because we have no idea what they look like. I think they all look different. I have children and there is nothing about you that would make me think you shouldn't be around them.

That last post is insane and it's just one of the "haters" who cannot stand that you get further than them.

For the record, I've seen Zuma at City Hall, we've gone to dinner and we've spoken on the phone.

I really feel like I have to say that he has no smell so for someone to say something crazy like that is just ridiculous. You either don't know him, don't like him or you're afraid he'll expose you next.

He's a very bright guy. He catches on quickly to things that city employees don't, or they refuse to, or else they choose to ignore and THAT is why people post mean things about him.

Then there are the few jealous political gadflies who just can't stand the fact that he gets more attention than them.

October 20, 2007 6:04 PM

Oh, yes, ZD definitely gets more attention than most of us, mainly because he is what is known as an "attention whore".

Whereas most of us seek to accomplish objectives in life, and, in doing so, create a nice home and life for our loved ones, he lives like a vagrant in a van, looks like a hobo or worse, and accomplishes very little.

Public officials humor or tolerate him, but really, no one really gives a rat's ass what he thinks or says.

He is a voice in the wilderness to which no one really listens.

So, delude yourselves somehow that ZD is Don Quixote, if you will, but he accomplishes about the same while tilting at windmills.

But, every Don Quixote needs his Sancho Panza, so, I guess he's got Matt and a few others like th elosers that defend him.

COWARDS

COWARDS

STILL ANOTHER DELETED POST, A REPLY TO THE PHONY PARENT AT 6:04. The liar who claims to have kids, goes to dinner with the mutt and can vouch for his smell, and also hangs around city hall.

What a bad liar and clearly, fellow blogger who uses this sad excuse for a timewaster.

Of course a creep lurking around kids in a ski hat and sunglasses, with no kids of his own, butting in and wanting to give advice, is the classic perv profile. No one said he IS one, but he looks like one.

The kind that when parents see him lurking on the sidelines at the park, close ranks and make sure a parent is assigned to watch him at all times, make sure he doesn't get near a kid or is in the bathroom with them at the same time.

I've seen this guy at school board meetings and scoring free food, and the only reason anyone talks to him is to feel him out, see what's his story. To be careful about him.

Yeah, we're all worried about "how far ahead" a homeless, uneducated and penniless unemployed guy is.

If you were a parent and felt that way, you should be getting a visit from Social Services. Britney is a far more informed parent than you.

Antonio Watch or Sam, you're a very bad liar. All these other posts are from you too. No parent wants their kid to be part of a freak show, even the poor Mexicans want their kids to be upright citizens.

Take poor zuma somewhere for help and stop fueling his delusions of brilliance and importance. When he shows up and starts his rants, people roll their eyes and thank our lucky stars there aren't too many like him we have to put up with. Or we'd never get anything done. No one is "afraid" of him.

If you call yourself a decent human being, help him get therapy and help from a good homeless agency. They can help him find a good job and the dignity of supporting himself.

You are a sick, desperate person to try and spin that angle. You really think you're winning people over with the angle you are pushing.

Man, some boats must have been rocked with this story, is all I can say. (And those spinning for the destroyers of society (VillarGarcia's LAUSD school board) KNOWS parents are hittin' up ZD with the 4-1-1, because they recognize the stuff I am saying.

AND OH YEAH...THE JACKET AND NICE SHIRT DOES TEST WELL WITH RESPONDENTS. CHECK OUT ZD'S FAVORABILITY NUMBERS WITH "LIKELY VOTERS" or "REGISTERED VOTERS" AGES 18-24, 18-49, 18-64. Play some videos and radio calls -- and see what happens. (I think some folks already have...hence, the smear.)
