Metro is holding public meetings on a study to bring transportation alternatives to the Westside, as well as meetings for transportation options along Crenshaw Blvd. towards the South Bay . Also, the Riverside Transit Agency continues to hold community meetings on proposed changes in bus service. The Expo Line Construction Authority will release the results of its Phase 2 scoping process at two upcoming public meetings. Finally, Metro announced 2 meetings regarding the Downtown Regional Connector, which aims to connect the Blue, Gold and Expo Lines.

At least 3 people died when a chain of trucks collided and caught fire in a truck tunnel underneath the I-5. The fire was hot enough to weaken chunks of concrete from the ceiling and send them falling to the road floor. However, by Monday, the I-5 was back in business, albeit without truck lanes. Nevertheless, commuters took advantage of beefed-up Metrolink service, with some users catching earlier trains to avoid the snarls. The commuter rail service reported high ridership as a result of the incident.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa voiced his support for a Gold Line extension to LA/Ontario Airport last week. Some were concerned that the mayor was ambivalent to the concept, since Villaraigosa has otherwise been placing his efforts to build a subway towards Santa Monica . Nevertheless, the support was echoed by a Pasadena Star News editorial, which cited its own straw poll that showed overwhelming reader support for the light rail line extension.

The LA Weekly took a critical look on the Metro Board decision, made last month, to build a massive development at the
North Hollywood Red and Orange Line stations. The investigative article focused on the lottery method to pick Board members to take a vote, after it was discovered that all but two Board members could not vote on the item due to conflicts of interest. The method was said to have come from former state Senator Tom Hayden, though Hayden himself denies this.

Politics take center stage with regards to the recent firing of former LADOT chief Gloria Jeff. Now the Los Angeles City Council is moving to settle with Jeff, who appealed her dismissal last week. Some believe the city wants to avoid a heated and potentially racially charged he-said-she-said affair. A Los Angeles Daily News op-ed warned that such bickering would distract the LADOT from achieving its main function: To keep Los Angeles moving.

And so another state legislative year has come to an end. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed various bills into law, one of which would increase car registration fees to pay for research of alternative fuels. Sadly, bills relating to air pollution, including the Lowenthal bill to charge fees to port containers that would pay for pollution mitigation, were left by the wayside.

Because if you get fired and you are not white, it has to be racially motivated.

From what I've read, Jeff has never cared about LA. She was out of town more than in, did nothing to alleviate traffic congestion, and now wants big money to go away when she knew her job was at will.

Quit bringing these crappy people in from out of state just because you're worried what the black or any other community is going to think.

Here are a few recent stories of Mexican gang violence in Los Angeles. Mayor V. this is why we need to deport all the illegal aliens. We have way to too many Mexican gangs committing the most violent and sick crimes imaginable.

Federal prosecutors Tuesday accused members of a Latino street gang of a violent campaign to drive African American rivals out of their South Los Angeles area neighborhood, resulting in at least 20 killings in the last three years.

In confessions to police, two of the gang members - including Jonathan Fajardo, one of the two charged with Cheryl's killing - said they believed that their friend, Christopher Ash, was the snitch.
And for that, Ash paid with his life, police said. He was stabbed more than 80 times and his throat was slashed

Los Angeles police detectives on Monday searched for three gunmen who opened fire in a bustling shopping district near MacArthur Park over the weekend, critically wounding an outdoor vendor and killing a 23-day-old baby being pushed in a stroller by his mother.

I'm telling you what should be done to these Beaner Gangsters for their crimes is to go back to the old days and perform public humilation. Such as a publically witnessed circumcision or castration without any anestetic strapped down upside down on a plank for the public to see.

I bet you this would teach kids to not to commit crimes and serve as a lesson to other illegals about assimilation and even the negros that crime comes with a consequence that is humiliating.

Tar and feather them, take a DNA sample, then send them back across the border after they finish their sentences. If they sneak across the border again, and their DNA matches, line them up against a wall, shoot them, then deep-six them. I don't believe they will sneak across the border a third time.

The Mayor does not open his big mouth and appear before the cameras when these crimes are commited.

Mayor V. quit hiding under Marthala's skirt and tell us why we should support all the illegal aliens who are involved in these crimes. One of the killers of Cheryl Green is an illegal allien.

Look under Inmate Locator to determine immigration status.

Jeff was fired from her last job in Chicago, but the Governor herself had to beg and plead for months to get her to go away. She didn't until she got this gig, with phony glowing references, anything to get the woman out of Illinois.

She had a similar incident before that. Like Boks, kicked out twice in disgrace, and ends up here in L A.

doesn't anyone vet these people? Do they all come with phony references no one checks on?

Jeffs is just made because she usually shakes down her employers before they get her to leave. She is shocked that she actually got sacked without intimidation on her part.

These blacks making it a civil rights issue just shows how phony most of those claims are.
