Memo To Ray Lopez: Council Members Stepping Up?

Subject: Topic Suggestion for Today's John and Ken Show
Our City is in such bad financial straights our Council Members and Mayor feel its vital to impose all kinds of new taxes on working people to "avert an emergency."
We know that honestly the City has more money than it needs - its wasteful spending that has led us to where we are.
In one week the Council tells us we are in an emergency - yet at the same time they seem to be able to have enough valuable council time to debate the war in Iraq and to fund a shady, money losing Christmas parade (where is the ACLU on that one?). What gives?
We think its high time to call on our Council members and the Mayor to stand up for the cause and make some personal sacrifice. Each of them is paid much more than many CEOs. They could easily forgo half their salary and still be comfortable. They also get a lot of other perks outside salary like expense accounts, slush funds, city vehicles (which they seem to have trouble parking and keeping out of fender benders), etc. to keep them afloat. They also huge, bloated staffs and multiple offices.
Who amongst our beloved Council leaders will be the first to forgo up to half their salary, cut back on staff, move offices to lower rent facilities (how much rent do Jack Weiss and Tom LaBonge pay for their fancy Toluca Lake and Ventura Blvd. offices?) or close or consolidate them with other city offices?
Who will set the example and be a leader? Who is willing to share the pain? Huh? Anyone? Hello? I'm hearing crickets.

Where would Weiss have his offices? He has one in West LA (Pico/Robertson) and one in the Valley on Ventura Blvd. Where would you like him to put his "one" district office and have enough staff to support the hundreds of thousands of constituents?
They get about 7 or 9 consulting jobs that pay about 100k that they can hand out as favors, too. That's a perk.
They travel all over the damn world staying in 5 star hotels on these phony junket trips. And how about Delgadillo's trip to Mexico to learn Spanish? If he needed an immersion program all he had to do is step out on the streets near city hall east
Thanks for the great idea, Mayor Sam. Our only concern is that John & Ken, too, would be hearing crickets during that segment.

Sam, if you found a dive for WEiss to rent as a public favor, I've got a better idea:
you and the misfit blogger colleagues chip in, hang out a shingle that says "Misfits and Associates."
Maybe have zuma to tarot card readings which will be more accurate and lucrative than what he's up to now.
And if you really want to help, urge the deportation of useless illegal aliens like matt dowd.

My Council member, Greig Smith could have made a difference for once by killing the new telephone tax, or at least holding out for killing Special Order 40.
But no, he sold us out for a package of graham crackers.

First of all, fire Villar's breath mint servant. Then fire all but one or two of his aides. Then cut the staff at his residence...my carpet cleaner happens to be the same carpet cleaner who goes to the mayor's residence. He told me that there is a ridiculous amount of wasted staff...servants are tripping over each other!
I'll bet we could save 500M/year if we forced our PUBLIC SERVANTS to fire 3/4 of their extravagant personal and superflous expenditures.

What does the mexican midget mayor have to say about the federal government telling us mexican gangs are killing blacks in a race war.
