Does Mayor Villaraigosa support a INDICTED Fashion Designer ?
The World of Fashion is in a "state of upheaval" over the 59 count Indictment against Indian Designer Anand Jon Alexander, for various forms of Sexual Assault. What is sure to spark a buzz in City Hall, is the connection of Mayor Villaraigosa and his role in a "Pro Anand Rally" on September 11, 2007 in Beverly Hills.
KFI's John and Ken broke this story. According to a story on indiapost.com, Mayor Villaraigosa help emcee a event with Sanjana Jon, Anand's sister. Also in attendance were models wearing "Pro Anand shirts". KFI has also alluded to a political connection between Anand and the Hillary Clinton Campaign.
Question abounds on the connection between the Mayor and Anand Jon.
First, Anand has been under arrest since spring. Does the Mayor truly believe that Anand Jon is not guilty ? Or is there other "POLITICAL REASONS" for his support of Anand Jon ?, maybe a monetary reason ?
Second, as the Mayor who wishes to reform our education system. What message does this send when you attend a rally for a man facing 59 COUNTS of Sexual Assault, including many on models the same age as his youngest daughter ?
Third, with his "PERSONAL REPUTATION" in the "sink". Where are the Mayor's handlers and "SPINSTERS" in advising him to stay clear of people such as Anand ?
Mayor Villaraigosa should have learn long ago that associating with unsavory characters can cost you politically (a certain coke dealer comes to mind). With pictures coming,(they are), and possibly video, The "THIRD FLOOR SPIN CHAMBER" should be in crisis mode again. Maybe "PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE" will make spinning this episode, less of a task.

If you knew squat, you'd know that Sanjana Jon was hired almost as an act of charity by the Indian community because her brother had been the support of herself and their mother, and now that he's in jail without possibility of parole, the two have been going "from pillar to post" as one Indian pundit says, to get help. Of course they maintain his innocence, that he's been set up, was doing nothing more than touching inexperienced girls in the normal process of fitting clothing -- and in fact, models are nude backstage so who knows -- and some even claim the race card, that he's being persecuted as a "smart brown boy" who got too uppity with "nice white girls." Shades of the 50's south, that is over the top.
Anyway, the Indians hiring the sister for this reason had nothing to do with the brother, it was not a fundraiser for sure, in fact, the Indian community has distanced themselves from the guy and this is a sort of olive branch to help out "a sister" in the community. Anyone who plays it up from her family's side, sabbotaged the event and the Mayor's presence. Not the first time that sort of thing has happened to a pol who shows up to support "a community," is it now?

I read Mayor Sam. I knew about him months ago. It was in the LA Times also.
Villar and his daughter do look miserable seated at that table. Must have realized they got bushwhacked by the Jon supporters, when they had only agreed to show for a support of Indian Independence Day, and the Clinton campaign. Nothing wrong with that. Why didn't Villar walk out? I don't know, probably he didn't know who the guy was. And he made his speech before the Jon supporters came on stage and talked about his "civil rights." I'll bet Villar's people were doing some private screaming at some Indians later. McAuliffe was dumb, having his photo taken with t-shirt girl; if he didn't know what it meant, he should have avoided it, however awkward it may be to shoo away a little girl. (Those Jon people played all the angles in their sabotage, including using the little girl to do a woman's job.)
Jon's lawyer says a lot of the women complaining kept working with him after the alleged incidents, and were seen with him happy and smiling, and some are responsible for multiple complaints in more than one city even -- something does look fishy here, why they wouldn't have quit. Then again, it's really hard for a young girl to accuse a famous man until others come forward with similar stories.
Only thing for sure, is Villar's daughter has it right: she looks grim and mad as hell being there. They both look ready to bolt.
Maybe another reason Villar didn't leave. K-E-V-I-N K-A-U-L. He is a big time "FRIEND OF ANTONIO", Developer, a "HILLRAISER"(any one person who raises $100,000 or more for "MRS. BILL CLINTON" campaign).
Kaul was a big factor in getting the "POLITICO FORMERLY KNOWN AS ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA, tony villar", elected Mayor. Kaul was one of the big organizers of the evening program.

No. You forgot: Mayors already known for their sexual improprieties that show up at a benefit to show solidarity for an alleged serial rapist is just one more reason why they are unfit for any public office.
It was not a benefit for Anand Jon, his family and supporters turned it into that. The Mayor AND Clinton's rep went to celebrate Indian Independence Day, and he talked about that only. It is disgraceful that many in the Indian community see Jon's indictment as a "civil rights" issue because he is "a brown boy," accused by white girls.
There may be some trumped-up charges urged by their attorney -- that happens a lot. But they have dragged politicians into their mess when those people showed up for their independence day. The Indian community has learned the lessons of the blacks a little too well.
