Mayor Sam's Hot Sheet for Wednesday

Steve Lopez bottlecaps what is hopefully the end of the VillarSalinas scandal following the end of Mirthala's Telemundo career.

Clowncil People in Santa Ana don't like blogs but at least one Supreme Court Justice wishes they were around about fifteen years ago. Clarence Thomas thinks that they could have provided some balance to left leaning media attacks on him during the Anita Hill brouhaha.

More from the Nanny State: You are too stupid to decide how your private property should be used so good for nothing NIMBY naybobs plan to abuse a silly and should be unconstitutional city law to create "Historic Preservation Overlay Zones" to tell you how to paint your house. You also don't know what you need to eat. The Principles in Practice blog says that Jan Perry's proposed two-year moratorium on new fast-food restaurants in South Los Angeles "will do nothing to make people lose weight. But it will make their lives less free and fulfilling." Man that's crazy talk!

The MTA's done it again - a line that goes close but not at all. The new eastside extension to the Metro Gold Line heads towards the business district but takes a northward turn to Union Station. So to get back where you were you have to hop the Red Line. Fun huh?

MetroRider's Herc Wad writes that LA CityBeat interviewed members of the City Clowncil and their lack of usage of public transportation. But Wad's not upset with the Clowncil's answers but his view that it was "garbage" questions the paper asked of the electeds.

Another one of these anti-Bush special interest astro turf groups plan to present petitions to the Los Angeles City Clowncil to call for the President's impeachment. The dummies mention that the City of San Fernando Valley has voted to support the resolution. Didn't know there was such a city. Memo to the idiots: Don't waste the Clowncil's time with this crap. We have enough problems as it is without 15 leftists speechifying against the Republicans.

"Anti-Bush" I get. But where does "astro-turf" play into this? Please explain why you consider this pro impeachment group "astro-turf"?

I also hate those anti-Bush organizations, we all know President George Bush will go down in history as the greatest president in U.S. History.

President Bush proved why he is commander-in-chief over the retired and disgraced Generals, Bush is the mastermind, behind the planning of the Iraq war. I especially hate those anti-American, ant-President Bush Generals like Maj. Gen. John Batiste, Paul Eaton, Marine Gen. Joseph Hoar, Gen. Barry McCaffrey, and Lt. Gen William Odom.

But the General I hate the most is Eric Shinseki (former Chief of Staff) who is infamous for his remarks to the U.S. Senate Armed Services committee before the war in Iraq in which he said "something in the order of several hundred thousand soldiers" would probably be required for post-war Iraq. Donald Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz publicly disagreed with his estimate.

Yes it is disgusting when a Japanese communist traitor like Eric Shinseki publicly speaks out against our great President Bush. We should hang all these former Generals for treason. President Bush you are our great leader. Mayor Sam this is why we love your blog so much, you understand politics so well and are a true American Patriot.

Bob Mulholland, is that you? Insomnia, my brother?

Yesterday it was Foley, Vitter and Craig. Today it's Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz. Switch to decaffeinated Kool-Aid, my friend. You'll sleep easier.

This is the most idiotic comment from our gang banger cholo Mayor.

"Boyle is like Jesus Christ, a shepherd sent to heal the sick, Villaraigosa said. (ANTONIO WOULDN'T KNOW JESUS CHRIST IF HE WAS STANDING IN FRONT OF HIM. HE COMMITTED A SIN TAKING COMMUNION LAST YEAR KNOWING HE WAS SCREWING MIRTHALA BEHIND HIS WIFE'S BACK)

"Everybody learns to be the truth of what they are," Boyle said. "We all want to be taught to fly."
(FATHER GANG BANGER BOYLE SHOULD BE TELLLING THIS TO ANTONIO)

I think today is the day Mr. Coward will be back posting anti-zd comments about how, once again, mayor sam's entire audience will evaporate if I don't go away.

TODAY IS THE DAY HE IS BACK! Watch for all the important things this anonymous coward has to say.

Meanwhile, the blog moved up to #11 this week (on that blog ranker) -- and #8 was the peak when the mayor's affair story broke early this summer. (And the #11 rank is WITHOUT the villarsalinas scandal.)

Sam is right; there is no City of San Fernando Valley.

There is a city of San Fernando not signficant though.

An Evening with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa
Moderated by Jim Newton, Editor of the Los Angeles Times Editorial Pages

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa entered office two years ago with great fanfare, landing the cover of Newsweek and receiving recognition as the city's first Latino mayor in over a century. He pursued an ambitious agenda from the start, seeking to increase public safety, gain control of Los Angeles schools, crack down on gangs, pursue downtown development, green the city, and reduce traffic. He's met with some successes as well as setbacks. Now, halfway into his first term, he chats with Jim Newton, editor of the Los Angeles Times editorial pages, about what he's accomplished so far and where he hopes to go from here.
