CD 14 Constituent Dissatisfaction Thread Since They Are Stuck With WORST CM In LA City...JOSE HUIZAR

ALSO AT ZD's NC BLOG: Memo From Mayor Antonio Villaraiogsa To City Council Regarding "Modern Communications Tax" Ordinance for This February's Ballot. Council Consideration: New "Conflict of Interest" Code (What Conflict of Interest?) Plus, Styrofoam Ban In All City Departments Being Discussed Click here for NC blog

And now...on with the countdown.

On American Top 40, I'm Casey Kasem. We're countin' down to top worst Councilmembers in the City of Los Angeles. And comin' in at #2, that was Councilmember Jack Weiss, of RecallJackWeiss.com.

And comin' in at #1, for the 87th week in a row...it's former LAUSD School Board President and CURRENT Council District 14 (East LA) Counclimember Jose "Weezy" Huizar. No exclamation point needed, since it comes as no surprise to anyone. Especially his constituents. As a matter of fact, if it weren't for the fine folks of CD 14, ZD would probably know about 80% less, and his cell phone minutes would go down by about 80%. And he would be about 80% less cranky all the time, thinking of all the corruption that is robbing this district, and society, of it's soul and future. (Especially as it relates to the kids in the area.)

We all know how well LAUSD performed while he was school board president. The Inspector General's head would pop-off if he ever found out. No wonder they are trying so hard to keep it quiet. (And his boss, Mayor Antonio was willing to spend whatever it took, and make whatever promises, in his role as Mayor -- to keep it under wraps.)

But Jose was a good soldier, and they know he can be trusted (to be un-trustworthy), so they put him in the Council seat, to help keep Antonio's promises (that he made as CM) not only quiet...but fulfilled.

AND THAT'S WHERE EVERYTHING GOES SOUTH, REAL QUICK. AND IT'S NOT THE KINDA STUFF THAT YOU ARE GONNA WORK OUT AT THE NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL LEVEL. THE STUFF PEOPLE IN THE DISTRICT ARE REALLY GRIPING ABOUT, REQUIRES THE ATTENTION OF THE D.A. AND U.S. ATTORNEY.

And who knows, we have all heard that has been exactly the case. (Oops, I shouldn't say "the case", I should say, "the situation". Or should I say, "the case"?)

Anyway, even Council President Eric Garcetti had to ask, on camera, during a public council meeting (on the record) as to the status of things happening in Huizar's district, relating to the LA Housing Authority, that WAS the subject of a D.A. investigation.

And when it comes to illegal vending, that will tank the L.A. economy and kill any chances local mom and pops have of making a buck, themselves -- no one can boast a larger illegal vending zone (north of Tijuana) than Councilmember Jose Huizar.

But as much as his constituents wish he would just evaporate out of his council seat, if you are a develeoper, or community development agency, or just about anyone with a lot of money (like a university) and need to clear away some historic buildings, protected trees, or the people themselves...then Councilmember Jose Huizar is YOUR go-to guy!

[Man, this is going to make me really uncomfortable next time we bump into each other at Club 702. But I think the people of CD 14 deserve some attention to be focused on their outrage. CAUSE ZD HEARS IT! AND THE FACT THAT IT'S 7am ON SUNDAY or 1am ON TUESDAY DOESN'T SEEM TO PREVENT COMMUNITY OUTREACH TO ZD!]

And Weezy has some pretty upscale constituents in his district. Eagle Rock is upscale. (That's where you can usually find him shopping and living, even though I think he offically lives somewhere else.) Plus over there by the Southwest Museum, and over where his boss Antonio lives. So Weezy has a real diverse district. From the high-income mansion owners, to the low-income renters. And although he can't seem to unite his staff (with a turn-over of 16 this year, so far) -- he does seem to be able to unite a diverse constituency -- TO RALLY AGAINST HIM -- AND PRESSURE ZD TO BLOG ABOUT IT. (Mayor Sam: Congratulations really are in order. These people seem to feel it doesn't matter until it hits your blog!)

I must suffer from Stockholm syndrome, cause I kinda like Weezy; cause he was friendly with ZD on-camera when I first burst into chambers. And I've seen him laugh hard at some of ZD's dry, sarcastic public comments (that only HE seemed to get on THAT side of the rope). And that went a long way. AND, I kinda feel sorry for the guy, cause he's kinda like the newest member of the gang, or low-man on the totem pole/rookie...and he has to live in Antonio's shadow, but more importantly, was/is stuck covering for Villaraigosa's past shadniess as CM. And Zuma Times has heard Villar left some mess for Jose to deal with. (He's still dealing with it.) And the pressure of walking around, knowing there are HUGE SHOES THAT CAN DROP AT ANYTIME (D.A. and Federal shoes...not ZD's), well...it must be hard to unwind. No wonder he is always yelling at his staff and treating them harshly. (A side-effect of living in fear.)

But, when Huizar supporters on this blog start posting things like, "live by the sword, die by the sword". And post the same irrelevant comments over and over on all the threads. I can see his "representative" on this blog is taking a step backward in diplomacy. So what do I care, anymore? Meanwhile, people across the city will be saying, "It's about time Zuma Dogg. We were wondering where you have been."

SO LET'S DO A CASEY KASEM COUNTDOWN OF THE #1 PROBLEM/ISSUE YOU ARE SUFFERING FROM AT THE SHADY MEAT HOOKS OF MAYOR ANTONIO'S "GO TO GUY" WHEN HE NEEDS TO STEAMROLL THE COMMUNITY, COUNCILMEMBER JOSE HUIZAR! (Post a comment) Like SW Museum, Elephant Hill, Illegal Vending, Wyvenwood, Trips to Flordia Superbowl Weekend?, Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council, Overall Selling Out of The Community, please continue. (Maybe all the right people will post some stuff for all the right people to read.)

And finally, his new nickname should be "Tommy" cause he seems to be deaf, dumb and blind when it comes to dealing with problems. Or maybe it should be "Ironside", because he refuses to stand up for his district and his people.

ZD NC blog is back Longer posts (that I will link to here) and local community issues and updates).

Huizar has had over 13 emeployees leave in one year. If there was a board of directors in CD14 they would CAN the CEO (Huizar) for bad management. Now the community is stuck with yet more youngsters who don't have a clue how to deal with the community and are rude, disrespectful, arrogant and that comes from the top. Who would have thought Huizar would be worst then Antonio but he is. Polling says his numbers are wayyyyy low. he's not liked by any organization and what about the corruption of Housing Authoring he hasn't said a word about and his guy Gustavo.

FROM ZUMA'S INBOX: I AM NOT PASSING JUDGEMENT OR EDITORIALIZING ON THIS POST. IT IS A COPY AND PASTE FROM MY INBOX THAT I AM INTERESTED IN HEARING MORE ABOUT/Public Vetting:
___________________________________
HUIZAR AND VILLARAIGOSA SHOULD STAND UP FOR THE UNIONS THAT STOOD UP FOR THEM AND IMMEDIATELY FIRE ANTI-UNION ORGANIZERS IN THEIR CAMPS.

Villaraigosa = "pro-union" mayor with union support in election
Huizar = "pro-union" councilman with union support in election

However, both have blatant anti-union activities going on in their camps.

Joe Avila is Jose Huizar's chief of staff. Joe Avila is an OFFICER of one of the anti-union shills created tp split the union vote on the ballot.

These shill organizations represent no employees, have no budget and no experience. They are not real unions, and were created by insiders at City Hall to split the vote on the ballot so EAA couldn't win the percentage vote they needed to organize city hall workers.

This is the REAL union's position on these shill organizations - the REAL unions with REAL workers who REALLY VOTE and who got Villar and Weezy elected and which they now organize to defeat at city hall.

If Huizar didn't like the union's idea to organize in city hall, ok say so, but having his chief of staff organizing AGAINST the union in his own backyard of city hall was a greasy, ratty, weasel-y thing to do.

If Huizar didn't KNOW Avila was up to no good even though it was right under his nose, Huizar should take a strong PRO-union stand and FIRE AVILA. No questions asked.

No councilman should have his staff especially his own chief organizing against the unions that supported the councilman's election. If Huizar really supports unions like he says he does, he'll take a stand.

Other wise maybe the unions will organize against HUIZAR next time. You can see if that works for you Mr. Huizar!

Show the unions you won't tolerate blatant anti-union activity under your nose. Fire your anti-union chief. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.

Other shill group officers are from departments and from the Chief Administrative Office, controlled by the Mayor. Villaraigosa leaned on labor unions to get him in to office. Same with Huizar if Villar didn't like the union idea, ok say so, but allowing anti-union activity under his nose smells like a rat.

Weiss, Smith and Rocky also have staff in the shill groups. The anti-union activity was widespread. You'd expect it from some but not from Villar and Huizar, especilly the chief.

not to pile on...and to mi blogging amigo, and to weezy, i will limit this stuff to this one time thread, and not continue on and on (disproprtionaly)...but something interesting for this thread:

Have you ever heard of a State offical (Assemblymember's Field Deputy) feel so free as to say outloud, publicly, so as even ZD could have heard him, "calling out Huizar" for things like:

* Not being able to get work done.

* Dropping the ball on projects.

* These guys aren't doing their jobs.

* No one wants to work for them.

DeLeon's Field Deputy was SO COMFORTABLE saying these things outloud, in public, that someone called ZD to laugh about it -- and try and prove to me how bad it is over in the CD 14 council offices.

Their comment was, "It was interesting that State officials had no problem calling out City officials in public." (And that IS what ZD found interesting. YOU KNOW HOW FRUSTRATED AN ASSEMBLYMEMBER'S FIELD DEPUTY MUST BE (ESPECIALLY ONE OF THE VILLAR/NUNEZ POSSE ROLLER KEVIN DE LEON) TO EXPRESS THOSE SENTIMENTS TO ANY TOM, DICK OR ZUMA WHO SAYS, "Hey, how are you."

MOre non profits in CD14 that Huizar promised to audit and hasn't done it. More corruption with Huizar giving money to so called non profits like Project Amiga who just happened to go into the gang business to get money. Huizar cares more about illegals then legal residents. Stupid move trying to sneak by and stop the impounding of illegals cars. Got caught red handed and good for Rocky to nail him on it. Huizar is to blame for many of LAUSD problems so how can he help a district.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen (removes hat and bows low with flourish; puts hat back on and smiles):
The Bard wants to sing a song for you. The tune is one you Yanks will recognize as “Coming Around The Mountain”, savvy?
(Bard steps up and clears throat):
If there’s a building needing building, call Jose.
If there’s a dogg who needs some chilling, call Jose.
If there’s discord and some strife…with someone else’s wife…
If there’s something that you need….call Jose.
If you have a cash donation, call Jose.
If you have a sitchy-ation, call Jose.
If you want a special wavier, or have a special favour….
If you are not a tax-payer, call Jose.
If you want to be invited, call Jose.
If you want someone indicted, call Jose.
If you’re looking for inaction while certain others get some traction…
If you’re part of a certain faction, call Jose.
(Big Finish)
The folks down in Miami say HELLO! (Wave Hello)
And so do all the folks in O-hi-o
Jose, now don’t you quiver. Be a man, stand up and deliver…..
All those promises made to certain A-Mi-Go’s

I gotta beg ZD to do a karaoke version of that one. Bravo, Captain Jack! You sang it all. THAT'S the thread. And now me and ZD can chill and move on. (He has to keep reminding me, make the point and move on. No need to blow a gasket. It's just bit-ness.

And on the realest dough. I am dogg enough to say, if only jose would listen to his dogg chiller more of the time (like, all of the time)...i don't know if the world would be a better place, but I know the district would be a better place. HEY JOSE...forget the rest and aks your dogg chiller what the "f" you should do.

You better hope I never get rich, cause they would be the first person I hire!

Jose isn't man enough to confront his constituents. What he does instead is having his flunkies like Joe Avila, Henry Casas and the rest call residents and LIE to them saying one thing then behind closed doors saying another. Jose's staff especially Joe Avila has been caught so many times lying to the constituents to get his way and its backfired. I dont' think there's another councilman office that is more disliked and least trusted then Jose's. Jose's ego is so big no matter who puts on an event in Boyle Heights HE wants his photo and name on it even if he's not doing anything to help. Antonio started that move because he had a big head now Jose is doing it and community members laugh. They should post the flyers Jose sent out but they inserted their own photo of Weezy.

Was Huizee really buying shoes in Pasadena? Is it on TMZ yet? I'm just wondering, what kind of shoes were they, lace-up or loafers? Brown or black? He's a snappy dresser, that one. All them Hispanics are.

If Huiizee and Reyes lead the Midget Mayor back to Mexico, will they all be able to find nice shoes there?

I think you can get anything in Mexico if you're rich. Huizee and Reyes and Antonio can get rich in Mexico. But they won't go. They prefer the shoes and company here.

10:33pm - I call BS on that - no one is "polling" CD14 happiness levels right now, there's not an election again for years. Get a clue. At least make up a lie that's not obviasly a load of crap.

10:54am - TO JOE AVILA what were you thinking man? Don't you know who you work for? That sucks for you Weezy, how embarassing.

When will you realize this guy is bringing you down and finally send him packing? Don't let that joke of a chief turn you into the punchline Huizar.

6:57pm - Boyle Heights gets plenty. I want my own gold line too!

And Cap'n Jack, what can be said about that?

Henry Casas makes everyone call him MR CASAS. Big joke. This guy is so insecure and for being the community outreach person doesn't have a clue. Not liked by community.
Joe Avila-pretends to be straight but everyone knows gayer then a $2 bill. Its ok Joe to come out of closet. Biggest liar and uses constituents to make his point. Another insecure bafoon Jose hired.
Field staffers-no clue. no experience look like their 18 yrs old. Some of the guys are gay yet like Avila pretend to be straight. Makes you wonder why Jose is hiring GAY GUYS on his staff? Could it be Huizar swings both ways????

1:06am is right Weezy needs to send Avila back where he came from. Anybody d be better than him.

Avila is a liar and the community doesn't trust anything he says. He lied to people's faces at Ramona Gardens and then got caught talking shit about the people who confronted him for lying. I don't know about all the anti-union bizzznisss but I don't put it past him to be trying to screw Huizar. Rat.

8:29am Huizar's too busy getting it from his wife and his assistant (now "Deputy Chief" Francine) to look to the other team. And Francine thers another one he should just fire and get out of his life and just do what he what he was elected for.

Since when does hiring gay people makes you gay? Does hiring white people make you white?

Whoever said that about Henry Casas has it the straight dope tho. He's so full of shit the community can smell him coming. He's so two faced theres not enough mirors in east LA to keep track of him. What does he actually do anyway?

Huizars not a bag guy and he has soem good ideas and good peoplke but also a lot of bad to.

He is better than Antonio though. Antonio was around more but he was running for mayor the whole time. Huizar will stay and thats at leats better than Antonio.

It was no secret Joe Avila leaked information to the DWP when he worked in the Chief Legislative Analyst's office. He almost lost his job over it when an email sent from a private account was tracked back to his city computer.

Now as Huizar's Chief, Avila is so desperate to suck up to whoever can give him his next big job that he makes side deals with lobbyists but usually doesn't know what he's talking about.

Avila is a joke. He will stick his nose in a bag of horse shit if you tell him there's a prize inside.

Why are you keeping this guy around, Jose?

October 06, 2007 3:18 PM

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Problem with Huizar is he says one thing to whoever he's speaking with then turns around and totally contradicts himself to the other side. He never takes a solid stance on anything. Jose needs to stop saying "When I was the prez of LAUSD." What an idiot!! Doesn't he know that people laugh because he was a failure and he had the most over crowded school 2nd in the nation and did nothing? Jose spends all his time and money in Eagle Rock. If I see his ugly mug on one more flyer I'll throw up. That's his arrogance and the community is getting tired of it. AT one meeting constituents were discussing doing something to show outrage at his lack of concern to the Eastside. I say do it.

I live in Eagle Rock and we see his staff all the time but he's not around much, so you're off base there. As for money we think the money all goes to Boyle Heights. Maybe everybody thinks it goes someplace else. It's always greener on the other side of the fence as they say.

I think politicians have a hard job no one is ever happy and blames things that are not the politicians fault on them.
