The payroll system problem at the LAUSD can easily be linked to Monica Garcia and her close college buddy. Her buddy (an employee at Deliotte) lobbied the District to use the failed software system.
Now Monica is pulling a "cut and run" leaving her friend holding the bag to take on the damage.
Someone elluded to this relationship in an earlier thread in early July.

And, let's figure out why Deliotte and it's lobbyist (Mr. S) can't get the LAUD's payroll system to work.

The LAUSD's costly consultant. Rather than punish Deloitte Consulting for an expensive and inefficient payroll system, the LAUSD wants to reward it.

This is like watching the Bush admin. Bush/Rove tried to take over all aspects of government and have driven us backwards in so many respects.
MAV is doing the same. The school board(succeeded), the CA's office(pushing Jack "Alberto" Weiss), the pension board(in place), etc.
We should all be very concerned when one person/position has enough power to push through their plans without those plans being vetted.
We should be VERY concerned when those who are tasked with watching over those in power get their very budgets from the people they are supposed to be watching.

We know that in 94, Big Love (reputedly) had an affair with his best friend's wife. The guy was also his campaign manager. Mrs. V was undergoing chemo at the time. They split briefly.
We also know: Big Love lied about the split now from Corrina (I lost weight and haven't had time to get my ring resized) and not living with her (we still live together) as well as Mirthala.
We also know Big Love has a pattern of trips away from home to hook up with various women: it's what he did in 94.
He was with Kay in South Korea, a trip which seemed focused on promoting her fashions (he wore some in one of her fashion shows). He later appointed her City Commissioner. Her qualifications for this post other than possibly having sex with Mayor elude most people.
There are allegations he had LAPD transfer some hottie female officer to his protective detail so she could be his girlfriend. And that various hottie female lobbyists traded sex for favors, some of which included being appointed to City positions.
Big Love has lots of enemies: Rocky (who probably returned the leak-favors and would love the Summer of Love to continue driving his stuff off the front pages), soon-to-be-ex Corrina, his ex-buddy who's wife Big Love had an affair with, and probably lots of people in the LAPD.
If Big Love and his buddies think this is over, think again. LAT may deep-six the story, but Leno and the tabloids won't. Paris is in seclusion, Britney and Lindsay semi-sane, and along comes Big Love with lots of juicy stories. Tab reporters unlike mainstream ones actually dig for stories. I'm sure Kay will be all over the tabloids. With Yucks every night from Leno.

Jay Leno just did more to kill the mayor's chance at re-election and higher office than any ethics violations or hard journalism could have. Thanks Jay...Hey Zuma, get your lazy ass into the Time Warner Public Access studios and do a half hour comedy routine about the Mayor for Time Warner's 2 million households in LA/Venutra County.
And speaking of "warfare", funny Council went to a "retreat". After the past year they just had, that's exactly our advice.

i have asked before but still haven't heard, why a member of the anti-american group MEChA is mayor of los angeles. please tell me how this happens, did i get the wrong information on this subject or what? if true, isn't this a good enough reason to want to get him out of office? can someone please write back on this? please forgive my confusion but this makes no sense to me.
The Deloitte contract was signed well before Monica Garcia was on the board. There were rumors, however, about influence by Roy Romer.
Before she was on the board, YES...but she WAS Huizar's Chief of Staff during his tenure on the board, wasn't she?
