Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Monday
A former county employee has begun an effort to recall City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo. That's two recalls down, 16 more to go (yea we'll throw in Laura Chick just to make Archie Bunker happy).
Speaking of Rocky, a deputy city attorney is saying Delgadillo pressured her to drop charges against grocery store owner George Torres who reportedly has ties to Mayor Villaraigosa as well. Torres was up on charges of illegally demolishing low-income apartments (why is this a crime?) and was eventually prosecuted and convicted.
Mayor V went out of town again. This time to Philadelphia to speak to the National Education Association. Does he really think Hillary is going to pick him as a VP?
Gabriela Saravia is a Cal State University Northridge student who is working this summer as an intern in the Mayor's office. Her biggest surprise about the Villaraigosa staff "I expected everyone to be much older."
Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmandinejad probably better give up the ghost. The LA City Council set aside all the important issues in LA to take a swipe at him.
They want to outlaw talkradio but not until movies are forced by the government to be fair and balanced. A "documentary" about the supermarket industry was bankrolled by the socialist leaning Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy and the United Food and Commercial Workers union. Buyer beware.
LA is going to upgrade its antiquated parking meters and bring them into the last century. We may wind up with meters that can be paid with debit/credit cards and cell phones. And while they're at it, the City may raise parking rates. Better bet would be to study cities like Burbank who do not have parking meters disrupting and discouraging retail commerce.
Good news for Fabian Nunez and Lloyd Levine - the California Supreme Court has thrown out a challenge to an upcoming ballot proposition that would extend term limits for state legislators.
Does someone want to just put LA Voice out of it's misery? Not much posting going on there and the most recent posting (posted last Friday) is one that was suggested to the blogger to repost from another blog. Other than contributor and uber-PR consultant Edward Headington's yeoman posting of his press releases, not much else going on.

What good is a blog if there can't be any comments?????
So what if some staffer is vile and posting crude remarks -- just DELETE the comment and don't take it out on everyone else.
Hold back printing anypone's post until after you had a chance to review the comment and if it's too offensive, just don't post it.
It's not going to be of much interest here if we don't get to see the comments. That's what makes it fun.

Shut up, Moron. A fool who can't do anything useful himself, naturally wants to take down everyone in sight, out of jealousy and spite. When Jack is C/A you'll still be looking for the next hatchett job, pitiful worm.
As for Rocky -- he walked into his own trap, but no one cares what you have to say about him, either, sitting there salivating, jealous.
You realize that after Zuma's meltdown and Moore exposed as a dull, censoring pontificator who hides behind anon. when found out, you are all yesterday's 15 mins.

Mr. Worm has quite a temper. Seems like his job may at risk if the current admin goes down.
There's plenty of dirt to go around downtown. Enough people know about it to make the next week or two very interesting.
Do you think those who are being attacked will just sit and take it?
Its a feeding frenzy.

Dear Mayor Sam,
The "whistleblower" Deputy City Attorney is a respected atty and former Santa Monica councilwoman. The LA Times got it right...a non-atty, Ann D'Amato, runs the office making politically expedient decisions...that is why the entire upper management team left Rocky two years ago and why the office went down the drain since then...ethical, legal based advice and opinions are no longer given by Rocky's office...blind ambition, political ambition, is bringing about his demise...there is so much more to tell...and the LA Times will be running many more stories...

When is D'Amato's contract up? How much does she make? Why should the taxpayers pay for Rocky's "Mommy" and political advisor to be on the payroll?
Anonymous said:
D'Amato's done more for the City than any ten hack consultants in Tony Villar's gang. Her contract has saved the City a small fortune by her dedication to the bottom line. Too bad some disgruntled deputies can't take their slippers off and get to work.

Just like his predecessor Jim Hahn, Rocky has long been known amongst housing activists for being soft on slumlords who are generous during campaign season. Why is any of this news?

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen (sips iced tea and winks):
Today is a fine day for walking the plank, is it not? Although over the weekend, I heard a rather novel new word of art....throwing someone under the bus. Sots, who is targeted to be thrown under the bus today? My sources tell me that now that we have a new fiscal year, some will be thrown under the proverbial bus that will charge through City Hall this week because they have been lax in, well, throwing folks under the bus for contributing to this particular blog, savvy?
Any guesses as to whom that might be?

Re Back to School essay. It's one thing to moderate the comments, but honestly, one can't post to you anonymously but can use a Google/Blogger alias? Logic, my friend.
Looks like the vulgarati got to you.
Oh, and your MooreIsBetter link doesn't work.

now I know why the saying goes 'less is moore'.
that makes sense now.

HOO HAW, Wacko Walter has his COMMENTS moderated now.
And this paper-thin-skinned gadfly thinks he can handle RUNNING for mayor.
BOO HISSSSSS!
Where have all the REAL political leaders gone.
Anybody think Lincoln or Douglas had the crowd thinned out to make sure no one booed them during their debates?
Pantywaists!
The end isn't near, it's already passed by. Anyone who's given this wimp contributions needs to ask for their money back.
WITH interest.

Wacko Walter was last time.
Now he's Wimpy Walter.
Take it like a man, or at least like a boy fer gawd's sake. Our founding father's went after each other with canes and challenges to duels.
He can't handle words.
You're supposed to wait until you are in office to develop the siege mentality. It's doesn't work when you're outside trying to get in.

Here's the most intelligent comment you're going to get today, Mr. Moore.
Quit pretending you have the stomach for politics.
Ideas - good or otherwise - without the backbone and intestinal fortitude to push them through against all kinds of abuse, are a waste of everyone's time and effort.
Every once in awhile, some idea you push ahead seems to make some sense (although usually they're not as novel as you'd like to think they are), but no one should invest a second in considering them if the main proponent is already showing weak knees.

Mayor Sam's cast of characters are certainly coming across as tissue tigers lately, that's for sure.

You don't have half the courage Walter Moore has.
It's about time we had a true American who is willing to send immigrants home -- whether they are illegal or not.
Anonymous said:
Courage is about standing in the face of enemy fire and firing back.
This weekend's Mayor Sam -- as "moderated" by Walter Moore and Zuma Censor -- was a shining example of how corrupt a political blog can get.
At least Rocky Delgadillo finally said, "I'm sorry."
So far, not a thing forthcoming from the MooreMeansLessComments and Zuma Censor camps...
However, to be fair, we'll give you boys three weeks to say you're sorry.
Starting now....
Zuma Dogg said:
Do you have to be sorry for censoring? I admitted I deleted some comments over the weekend, on a blog that is not a meeting covered under the Brown Act. So is a public admission that I did it, but am not necessarily sorry sufficient? At least it's not a denial?
Anonymous said:
wish there was a blog that promoted free discussion, did not censor but called out the loonies and sycophants who are
'blogcloggers". Does it exist?
Anonymous said:
Anybody wanna give Zuma Dogg a quick history lesson on censorship?
Anonymous said:
And while you're at it, give Bipolar Dogg a lesson in ethical behavior. In other words, doing what is right without having to be told "the rules." It's pretty simple.
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

It's about time we had a true American who is willing to send immigrants home . . .
I agree. But the last time a group of "true Americans" tried this, they ended up starving to death on a bunch of lousy, isolated "reservations."
Nope, count me out. I like being here, even if great-great-grandpa never did fill out all the correct paperwork. And my sense of rhythm is way too lousy for drum-circling.
Anonymous said:
Zuma, you hold yourself out as a protector of the people while you in fact delete other people's posts! You don't find anything wrong with that? You need the Brown Act for that? Man, you suck.
Zuma Dogg said:
While you losers are running that awesome "censorship" campaign against me, still spending all your time worshiping me, I think I just figured out something worthy of a new thread. Head on over to that one and keep trying to take down ZD with that whole censorship crybaby stuff...I think a lot of people in this city right now, are really concerned if people don't know who you think other people's gay lovers are. Meanwhile, keep being a leader. You are DEFINTITLEY winning your little PR war, aren't you. People just HATE me out there. They are FURIOUS at me for deleting you sexually deviant post...and now take the opportunity to start saying, "hey, he deleted my post again" every two seconds. PRETTY SMART! Seem to be pretty effective.
Anonymous said:
You're right, people do hate liars...
Anonymous said:
Zuma, you deleted my post then lied to the readers, claiming that I was some kind of pornographer when in reality, I was offering a pretty fair assessment of why people will not work with you. You couldn't take the heat, deleted my post and then manufactured a story to cover your unethical ass. Your dishonesty is what we resent. Until you change your ways, expect to find a lot of us real activists working to keep you and the Mayor Sam blog honest. We owe it to the public.
