Garshady's Council LOSES Legal Battle To Keep Zuma Dogg Out Of City Hall For One Year & ZD Figured Out The LAST Thing Council Wants Me To Discuss

Man, is that Mitch Englander a loser...I just thought I would say that...I knew it all along. You have never had one solid point on the issues...you have helped build my image on this blog with your weak-ass arguments...Don't worry Council Staffer who so reluctantly testified against ZD...Sure seemed like your defeated Chief of Staff/SHADY JAYCEE OPERATOR boss put you up to it:

Bitch Dicklander...YOU LOSE BITCH...SEE YOU TUESDAY, AND EVERY DAY, FOR A LONG, LONG, LONG, LONG, TIME LOSER! Anyway...you may have forgotten, but the shadiest bunch of crybabies, who just can't take the words of Zuma Dogg, as used against them in the court of public opinion, took their shot, sent out the goon squad, snatched me out of the bleachers, arrested me and tried to beat me in court, in order to try for a "one year stay away" (that may not have even been able to be enforced anyway...but who knows how long it would have taken me to prove that.)

AND I WOULD LIKE TO SEE BICH DICKLANDER UNDER A POLYGRAPH TO ANSWER THE QUESTION: "DID YOU FORCE YOUR STAFFER TO TESTIFY AGAINST ZD, AND COACH HIM ON WHAT TO SAY. (Cause bro, I was there, and he sure didn't have his facts down.) And if you were put up to it, FILE A LAWSUIT, or don't ever say, "hello" again to me please. (Won't hate you, just can't respect you anymore.)

AND, I can tell you one thing...something interesting happened in my trial, after ZD snuck over to City Hall for public comment during lunch:

Saw UNION construction workers protesting a Downtown construction project for using NON-UNION workers (and i was told they were non-documented) So I mentioned this is unsafe; no accountability; any terrorist can fly off the plane and be working on the site minutes later, cause they don't check documentation. And I asked Council to make a motion that ALL building projects approved by Planning and the City be required to use UNION workers. Because after all, besides safety issues, here' you raise taxes on these documented UNION workers with your bulky item fees, trash collection fees, whatever other taxes...then THEY can't get work, cause the non-union/non-documented are getting the work. (I'm told by an insider in the area, it happens all over!!!)

So when the court came back from lunch, the City Attorney says to the judge, "Your honor, The City has three to five new witnesses that would like to testify, as well." (Hey guess who one of them was??? Jan "Nose In The Air" Perry: HEY THE CM WHERE ALL THOSE NON-UNION BUILDINGS ARE POPPING UP!?!? HEY, NO AGENDA THERE POMPOUS ASS!!!

SO, THE CITY WINS...CITY COUNCIL LOSES: ZD IS NOT BANNED FROM SHITTY HALL...And now, the real work begins, cause Eric...quite a few flaws with your current "code of conduct" policy --- and NOW, the City has to start all over again and try to throw the cuffs on ZD, and try for that ONE YEAR STAY AWAY ORDER, ONE MORE TIME.

AND JAN...UNTIL IT'S ALL UNION WORK IN YOUR DISTRICT...I WILL BE COMMENTING ON THIS ISSUE ON RADIO AND TV EVERYTIME! NOW GO GET SOME DISCIPLINE IN YOUR LIFE...IT'S OBVILOUSLY LACKING IN ALL AREAS!

AND WATCH THIS BLOG FOR ALL THE HILARIOUS AND COMPELLING DETAILS FROM THE JURY SELECTION OVER THIS FIRST AMENDMENT CASE AND ALL THE INSIDE DETAILS. (Jury was AMAZING focus group.)

UPDATE: SEE COMMENT SECTION FOR ADDED DETAILS. AND WAY MORE TO COME.

The City Council tried to get a court order to keep you out of City Hall for a year? Did they even give you any notice? This is pretty amazing and disturbing stuff!

As for the City using non-union -- and illegal alien -- labor, they better watch out. I believe the City Charter requires that companies doing business with the City have to pay an above-minimum wage. Query how well that gets documented.

Walter, I was arrested last November. Jury trial just started today. It's an extremely compelling case, based on the jury selection alone, and the questioning process the master Judge Carter practitioned from the bench. Basically, a focus group on people's opinions of the first amendment, and whatnot.

DEFINITLEY, more than one comment from jurors who said, "Based on what I've heard so far, I just don't see where this rises to the level of a criminal violation."

And someone else mentioned, "It just seems like a lot of effort being put in over this."

And some people felt that you simply cannot disrupt a public meeting. (Which even ZD does not agree with.)

AND all the other juicy stuff, cause I really don't think the Councilmembers were too happy with having to take time out to testify, and again, the cross examination, on public record, wouldn't of been a very comfortable situation. SO, OVERALL, EVEN THOUGH ZD CAN COME BACK ON TUESDAY...I think both parties are happy enough and pissed enough.

AND...ZD HAS ALREADY BEEN BOOKED ON LOCAL AM TALK RADIO SHOW NEXT WEEK. WILL ANNOUNCE ON MONDAY.

And just a little side note to all you aspiring future political activist defendants before a Superior Court judge...

DEFINITELY...DO NOT...walk up and down the hallway where the jurors are waiting with a shirt that says, "Speak Out Against Politician 'Fraud, Waste & Abuse'"...Become a Political Target (aka: The Defendant).

Then DEFINITLEY, DEFINITLEY DO NOT WALK INTO THE JUDGE'S COURT ROOM WITH THAT SHIRT. AND WHEN HE TELLS YOU TO PUT ON YOUR JACKET OVER THE SHIRT...DO NOT TRY TO ENGAGE HIM OVER A DISCUSSION OVER FIRST AMEMNDMENT POLITICAL EXPRESSION RIGHTS, WHEN A JURY IS OUTSIDE WAITING.

THEN...

When the judge says, "And I order you not to wear that shirt ANYWHERE in the building...

DO NOT...walk across to city hall for public comment, during your court's lunch break, WEARING THE SHIRT ON TV...IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WHERE YOU ARE MIXED IN WITH A BUNCH OF WITNESSES AGAINST YOU.

ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU SAW YOUR PROSECUTING ATTORNEY IN CHAMBERS, WHO SAW YOU WEARING THE SHIRT.

THEN DON'T SAY, "Well Gee, you said INSIDE the building, I was outside..."

These are just some of the things you can do, if you feel like pissing off an otherwise, fantastically fair judge, until even the prosecuting City Attorney has to go to bat for you.

And, NO..ZD did not plead guilty.

You know, I didn't want to blog his name and the details on the main thread, cause you know what...maybe I'm the biggest sucker in the world, and hopefully someone will tell me if I am...

But I think Greig Smith's Legislative Deputy Doug Tripp is such a good guy...MAN, was he conflicted over this.

Doug, if ZD is correct in the assumption that Englander put you up to this...I DO hope you pull a Ruby De Vera. I know you won't, cause you don't wanna blow the gig...BUT, that's the difference between ZD and a politician. DOUG, I think they set you up for pergery. And folks, no offense to Mr. Tripp, cause they sent him in with CRAP.

My little public champ defender, had him, "Hummana, Hummana, Hummana". She totally poked holes in the story, completely discredited him, in the mind of the jury I am sure. I mean, seriously, basically a disaster.

But that's ok, bro, cause the rules WERE NOT posted, indeed...But besides what my PD was able to discredit simply on what was evident was this...DOUG...when I was snatched up by Landry, I was sitting in my seat. YOU SAY I WAS WALKING TO THE PODIUM AGAIN. So I guess you either didn't see the arrest, or don't remember. And it is pretty interesting that so many people have such perfectly aligned recollections of something that happened in a couple second timeframe, eight months ago. (Every detail leading up, remebered perfectly, as if the entire chambers is focused on me sitting in the benches, every second.

And then, TODAY...ALL OF THE SUDDEN, A BUNCH OF OTHER PEOPLE SUDDENLY REMEBER WHAT HAPPENED TOO, ALMOST EIGHT MONTHS LATER, WHEN THEY COULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Mr. Rogers Voice: Can you say shady politicians willing to lie and say anything to keep someone from talking about non-union workers builing City approved skyscrapers, that any international terrorist can work on and sabatoge?

ZUMA DOGG,

Before I ramble my way into a rather useless missive, I must warn you. I HAVE A GIFT FOR YOU!!

I can't gaurantee that you'll want it, but I bet it will make you smile. I will keep you posted.

Anyway, I recently completed a j-school fellowship run by some giants in the print news industry. Since then I've been rejected the LA Times and another local dinosaur. (Me thinks, they looked rather askance at my views on convergence, citizen journalism and web-based business models.)

Needless to say, I am a big fan of Mayor Sam, Mr. Dogg, et al. This site epitomizes the paradigm shift that is turning the industry inside out.

Though a bit disheveled, you guys seem to have a knack for hard news. Your coverage is civic-minded and unapologetic. Thank you for annoying and agitating your way to some interesting scoops.

I've written some pieces for a mid-size metro paper and done some freelance magazine work. So feel free to pretend that my opinion matters.

Respectfully submitted,

Good for you, Zuma! Wow!

If you want 'em, here's some trial tips:

Please be ultra respectful to the Judge. If he talks, for example, you STOP talking until it's your turn. Also, never interrupt your opponent. Wait till it's your turn.

Juries are much, much smarter than people give them credit for. Lawyers, for some reason, talk down to them. I don't, and they appreciate it.

Juries do NOT want their time wasted. So don't put on a big show, or crack a bunch of jokes. Get to the point, then stop.

You may also want to try to introduce several of your more serious essays from Mayor Sam and/or your blog, where you criticize City Hall, and ask CM's if they are aware, directly, or indirectly from their staffers, of your writings. Ditto re your videos. This would help the jury understand that you're being prosecuted not because of your conduct, but because they want to silence an opponent.

Now, I wasn't there when you were arrested, so I don't know what you did, but I find this trial very disturbing. A citizen who takes the time to attend City Council meetings, and who, as shown by his writings, sets forth serious criticism of city policy, is sued / prosecuted to prevent him from attending public meetings? Is this the Soviet Union For A New Century?

Walter,

It's over...case closed. ZD STAYS, WEISSASS LOSES...And there IS a serious problem with the enforcement of NON-rules/laws. For whatever ZD has done inside City Hall...all this was, was a case of a burnt out cop, one month away from retriement, who simply lost his cool, was really hot, cause someone else just flipped out, minuted before, who got away, so Landry, after 3:45 minutes, betrayed the badge and society, and snatched me up and crushed my wrist. (Maybe Jack Weiss can defend the City in my Civil case.)

SO LET'S BE CLEAR GARSHADY AND THE PEOPLE OF LOS ANGELES....IF YOU WANNA GET ME...MAKE SURE YOU REALLY GET ME...CAUSE NOW YOU JUST WASTED EIGHT MONTHS, CAUSE YOU HAD NO CASE, SO YOU HAD TO BEND OVER BACKWARDS TO KEEP ZD FROM CROSS EXAMINING YOUR RICO/RACKETEERING DEFENDANT ASSES.

Tiresome, Zuma, you are only tiresome.

Of course, you have a right to act like a horse's ass wherever you go -- that is your constitutional guarantee, but you do not have the right to waste the taxpayer's time.

You still have not effected any positive change in government.

But that was never the goal, was it?

Your real goal is simply to get attention; positive or negative, it really doesn't matter.

When you actually start fighting for a real cause other than your own, please let the rest of us activists know -- better yet, let us just find out through the media -- you know, the media you don't continually create for yourself.

Then, and only then, will you be on anybody's radar as a person who really cares and does good for this city.

Forgive my being dense, but I can't tell how it ended from your posting. Acquitted? Case dismissed? What happened?

9:12:
I respectfully disagree. Here's why:

First of all, Zuma has highlighted some real issues (e.g., density, water, City Hall's violation of an ordinance preventing condo conversions unless apartments had a certain vacancy rate, etc.).

Secondly, his theatrics are precisely what got the media to pay attention to him, thereby getting him an audience. If he showed up in a suit and tie, and presented his points in a more standard fashion, he would be completely ignored, just like all the other people who take time out of their busy day to try to influence policy by speaking to the City Council.

You know the expressions, "crazy like a fox," and "there's a method to his madness?" Well, ZD is the poster child for those expressions. He figured out how to get his message across, and did so with a budget of zero, and backing from no special interest groups. He's remarkable. And I'm not just saying that because he's my brother-in-law.

First of all the fact that a citizen who speaks out was even arrested is a red flag to all of us. Secondly, why weren't any of the South LA Farmers, Nation of Islam etc. who have spoken at public comment and have threatened, been volatile and hostile ever arrested. Walter makes good points as to the real reason Zuma was arrested was to silence him. To the haters I say at least Zuma has the guts to speak the truth. He has never made up crap against council members. He does all of us a service by posting the corruption within city hall that we may not have known because of the LA Slimes afraid to report. Here's Rule 12, Los Angeles City Council Rule 12

a. Rules of Decorum. During a meeting of the Los Angeles City Council, there is the need for civility and expedition in the carrying out of public business in order to ensure that the public has a full opportunity to be heard and that the deliberative process of the council is retained at all times. While any meeting of the City Council is in session, the following rules of decorum shall be observed. All remarks shall be addressed to the Council as a whole and not to any single member thereof, unless in response to a question from such member. Persons addressing the Council shall not make personal, impertinent, unduly repetitive, slanderous or profane remarks to the Council, any member of the council, staff or general public, nor utter loud, threatening, personal or abusive language, nor engage in any other disorderly conduct that disrupts, disturbs or otherwise impedes the orderly conduct of any Council meeting. No person in the Audience at a Council meeting shall engage in disorderly or boisterous conduct, including the utterance of loud, threatening or abusive language, whistling, stamping of feet or other acts which disturb, disrupt or otherwise impede the orderly conduct of any Council meeting. Signs, placards banners, or similar items shall not be permitted at any time in the Council chamber. Unless addressing the Council or entering or leaving the Council Chambers, all persons in the audience shall remain sitting in the seats provided. No person shall stand or sit in the center aisle, nor shall the doorways be blocked.

b. Enforcement of Decorum. The rules of decorum set forth above shall be enforced in the following manner. The presiding officer of the Council shall be responsible for maintaining the order and decorum of meetings. The presiding officer may request that a person who is violating the rules of decorum as set forth in Rule 12 a., comply immediately. If, after receiving a warning from the presiding officer, a person persists in violating the rules of decorum, the presiding officer shall order him or her to leave the Council meeting. Any person so ordered removed shall be excluded from further attendance at the meeting from which he or she has been removed, unless permission to attend is granted upon motion adopted by a majority vote of the Council. If such person does not remove himself or herself, the presiding officer may order the sergeant-at-arms of the Council to remove that person from the Council chambers. Any person who resists removal by the sergeant-at-arms shall be charged with a violation of Penal Code Section 403. The City reserves the right to seek further legal remedies should a member of the public engage in disruptive conduct during multiple meetings.
Adopted August 8, 2006
Code of Conduct.

Penalties. Any person who has been ordered removed from a meeting may be charged with a
violation of Penal Code Section 403, or other appropriate Penal Code or Los Angeles Municipal
Code sections. The Council by majority vote may prohibit a person removed on the basis of
disruptive conduct from addressing the Council for up to 30 days. The length of time of the
prohibition shall be based on the number and severity of prior incidents of disruptive conduct.

Walter, "highlighting" an issue and actually doing something about it are two completely different things. The question on ZD has always been whether he can effect change.

We already know he can blab endlessly about it.

Zuma Dogg's approach, if replicated by all speakers who seek public redress, would mean that absolutely nothing would ever get done in government -- AND the message would never be heard.

How about a city council or mayor that sit around all day saying, "Yo yo yo! On the downlow, y'all! Howdy Hoo!"

Is this what we can expect from your admin?

If, when you are elected Mayor, please put Zuma on your staff in charge of communications.

Walter, here's how Zuma does it:

1) Acts out continually until public officials (and activist officials like Mitch Englander) grow very tired of his antics and complete waste of public resources -- specifically, council and committee meeting time;

2) Goes to court, again wastes the public's time, a judge's time, taxpayer money, etc., etc.;

3) Pleads out;

4) Then, in an attempt to make himself look heroic instead of self-centered, calls Mitch Englander and everyone else an asshole.

Brother-in-law or not, his behavior is cowardly at best.

To Jack Hoff,

You are critical of Zumma Dog for being an activist who does not “affect change”, well he is just one man who attends city council meetings and reports/rants about it on the internet. He is not a large corporation like the Los Angeles times who have many investigative reporters who rarely investigate anything.

But he is one individual who has affected a change in me I now attend city council meetings when I can and read his blog and educate myself about Los Angeles city politics.

So what if he a little loud and quirky, he is more civic minded than 99.9% of the general public who do absolutely nothing resembling civic duty.

So Zumma Dog keep doing what you are doing because I am sure there are other readers of yours who are also motivated to become more active in their communities.

If you want to learn about Paris Hilton read the Los Angeles Times if you want to know how city government is wasting tax dollars then read Zumma Dog’s blog.

Illegal Dumping (Yes, covered it MONTHS before it was reported)
