I guess those folks don't need city services like police? Or if that's not the case and they do need police service then homeowners have to foot the bill for them.

What are you worried about loser?

As usual, you won't be paying any fees, because they forgot to include your van, which is one big hunk of solid waste.

This is because we can't get sales tax from jerks selling on the boardwalk and other places. The money for services has to come from somewhere; where do you suggest they get it? Tax people living in vans? Raise taxes on gas? Have toll roads in the city?

Or maybe best, charge per word or per second for stupid public omment and time wasting in public hearings.

Y'all hear?

Bro,

If they just stopped milking the coffers with shady loopholes, we would be just fine.

Last month my landlord had to pay an increase in trash collection; this month my cell phone went up $10.00 A MONTH LA utility tax ( which has been declared illegal) which Sprint will not stop taking off, now another landlord tax for solid waste. He will increase my rent by $50.00 to $100.00 a month. Move over Zuma Dogg; I cant stay here any more. You are smarter than the rest of us. Work and live in the underground; pay your taxes in consumption, sales, gas, etc; but not one cents contributed to welfare. My kind of conservative

ZD, for a guy who apparently doesn't own anything more than an old van you are right about the tax thing. As a homeowner I'm sick of paying for everything with more taxes, and they always put it as "for an average home of 3ooK, your additional tax will be..." but what decade was that the average fee? We need a printout of how many house assessments we're paying already, for ev/th from comm. college and schools to whatever, how much in bonds (voters aren't given a cumulative-to-date total when asked to approve these things) in addition to gas taxes, that were supposed to improve our roads...
Everyone on the CC wants to raise taxes for some pet project, to show how "caring" they are, tho fiscally irresponsible.

And you're right about all those special event fees, too -- you used to give Weiss credit for having opposed that at least, why not "award" him and some of the less fiscally wasteful -- but you actually favor the gabby leftie bleeding hearts like Hahn, and the ones who look at the "rich" westsiders who actually bear the brunt of keeping the city going as the enemy, like Alarcon. These are precisely the ones who bleed us with taxes without a second thought. It's like a competition, and the Mayor had to get in on it. At least money for cops is better than the L. A. River and other pet boondoggles, while money for light rail is not to be found. Unless of course, voters approve more taxes.
