LA's Newest Bachelor
Questions and fall-out since the announcement last week that Mayor Villaraigosa and his wife Corina were seperating.Among the items:
The Mayor is expected to address the separation in a Monday press conference.
The Mayor is moving back to CD14 - he will return to his Mount Washington home while his wife and children remain in the official Mayoral residence, Getty House, in Windsor Square.
A genealogy blog wonders if the Mayor will be allowed to continue to use the hybridized name that a younger Antonio Vilar, Jr. and Corina Raigosa came up with years ago.
LA is going to have a single mayor pretty soon - something we haven't had since the days of Dick Riordan - and an experience the folks of New York have previously had. I am sure many of you would like to start posting your a-list of the young ladies that an eligible bachelor like Mayor V would like to date. Remember, the Mayor has one of the best buddies you can troll for chicks with - none other than former President William Jefferson Clinton.
Of course, the Mayor does have higher political aspirations. He may want to read this article before he does anything further.

Mayor are you out of your mind! Why are you Photographing yourself with this woman, I did not vote for you, however, I did not expect that you would pull anything like this on your wife and children. Even our adorable thrill seeker Oympian Paul Gonzales would not pull this.

Hang in there Michael, do you remember Bernard Kerik, he almost made it to chief of Homeland Security, and he started out as Giuliani's driver. You should get a poster of Kerik for some inspiriation - eventually he too was exposed before a national audience, just like what is about to happen to Antonio.
What is it with your hang up on Pacheco people, you should get over it - there are no more Pacheco people. But in all fairness to this bunch, they spoke the truth about the mayor. Ricardo Torres is looking like a prophet right about now. I wonder if Corina will enter those pieces as evidence in her divorce case, why hire a private eye when all the work has already been done.
The only person to blame here is Antonio. He just couldn't give up the tail chase - something about making him feel more like a "man". Antonio chose to act selfishly, like he always has, and he could not share his love because he loved himself to much. Unfortunately for Corina, narcism and politicians go hand in hand, with Tony's superego this marriage must have been a nightmare.
Keep trying to defend your "honorable" mayor and even blame those Pacheco people if it makes you feel any better - bottom line is history will remember your boss as the scumbag that he is - the truth always surfaces, no matter how late.

wow -- I guess being a 45 year old resident in el sereno means i have morphed into a political operative named trujillo.
Sorry to disappoint -- but there are remnants of pacheco lovers that will always talk crap about the mayor no matter how he succeeds. I suspect this is the moment in their lives where they can feel good about themselves at someone else's misfortune.
It's sad, but really disgusting that the folks on this blog deny it.

In 1994 a fax was circulating throuighout East L.A. political circles about giving Antonio a new name after Corina filed for divorce the day after his election to the State Assembly. There were many, Villapendejo, Villacabron, Villaricosuave - but my favorite was Villapitosuelto - that says it all.
Being the poster child of hypocrisy, Antonio will keep the Villaraigosa name, he robbed Corina of all her dignity, why not throw in the name?
He shall henceforth be known as: The Mayor Formerly Known as Villagarosa! Or, he could change it to John F. Kennedy.
Villaraigosa publicly addresses marital split

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa spoke publicly for the first time today about the breakup of his 20-year marriage, which he announced last week.
In a meeting with reporters at City Hall, Villaraigosa declined to answer questions about whether the split with his wife, Corina, had anything to do with another relationship.
Villaraigosa said, however, that he took responsibility for the split and that "I feel a personal sense of failure" over the end of his marriage.
Villaraigosa was expected to move out of Getty House, the mayor's official residence in Windsor Square, in coming days. He will live during a transition period at the couple's Mount Washington home.
Corina and the couple's two teenage children are living at Getty House for the time being.
Stupid move having a press conf. for this. He already gave a statement on Friday so this was yet another photo op at the expense of his kids and wife. I hope the reporters go after his affairs and print the truth.

Now, even before the split with his wife (which has always been a "when" not "if"), the columnsts have been regularly asking if AV's accomplishments will ever come within a country mile of his promises and propaganda.
Pacheco supporters in '03 were simply ahead of the learning curve. People that opposed AV in '05 for mayor simply refused to drink at the well of personality cult that has made Villar-less-raigosa a "good" idea whose time never seems to come.
Ironic now that he's returning to Mt. Washington, where some of the very same bootlickers that supported him both times are recalling with such fondness (that's sarcasm) his final, targeted mayoral campaign promise to them to "save the Southwest Museum, as a museum" . .. just ELECT me mayor first, then I'll have ALL the power I need to do that.
He was going to put Autry's feet to the fire. Instead he tucked them into their cowboy bedrolls in Griffith Park, with warm milk and cookies.

Dumb ass!!! He's saying its private. Well, then he should not have said a word idiot!!! We all know this whole separation is about the other woman. Regarding the roomers about Antonio and his relationships outside his marriage...now he has two adult children from two different women, then he married Corina and had two more children, but I have heard roomers about other children too. Does anyone know about those? I remember hearing that Hertzberg and he had a falling out up in Sacramento when he was fooling around on Corina up there. And I remember roomers about a screaming woman at the capitol who was suppose to accompany him to Israel or something... Does anyone know about these roomers? Cuz we want to clear them up...

I wonder if Corina is staying at the Getty House because housing prices are out of control in L.A. and she can't afford it on her own. And can she live at the "official" residence after the divorce since she won't be the Mayor's wife anymore?
Corinna nor her children were at the Antonio mea culpa press conference. There's a good mother, shielding her children from hypocrisy - even if it comes in the form of their father.
But take notice who was there: His half brother, Rob Delgado - couldn't wipe his ass until he was 12 and winds up a millionaire stock broker. Rob's dad was the other adult in that single parent household that Antonio's mom ran.
Then there was his sister Deborah and her gay son. Zuma Dogg, feed Deborah Villar into your bat computer. Some highlights you might find:Deborah marries the director of a local communtiy clinic - she quickly leaves her job at the perfume counter at The Broadway downtown and instantly becomes high level management at this $200 million annually budgeted government subsidized clinic - sans college degree. The clinic goes bankrupt, despite being the largest recipient of Healthy Famlies money, and Deborah leaves the direcotr to start seeing a doctor at this clinic. The doctor has been diagnosed as having bone cancer. Deborah sees her chance, marries this doctor on his death bed and no doubt under th influence of morphine. And to add some more flare, the marriage is presided over by sister Mary Lou, the judge. (I'm not making this up but isn't this right out of a screen play?)
Deborah ends up with a million dollar home in Hacienda Heights and a sizable bank account the good doctor left, plus insurance. The doctor's family is so appalled, they don't even attend the funeral. Within two weeks Deborah goes on to buy a 7 series BMW and gets a boob job. She is so proud of her boob job that she lets fellow staffers at the clinic cop a feel. Hollywood, this is a story in the making!
Corina, you can breath now that you are no longer part of this family.
