Some political candidates from the May 15th election are removing their campaign yard signs but one has not in a big way. Yes, you guessed it! School Board Member (and rumored President) elect Tamar Galatzan has a legion of her tattered signs littering up chunks of Sherman Oaks, indeed some of them are posted in front of an apartment building that's about 70% demolished (yes Zuma for high density housing). Perhaps Michael Trujillo needs to take care of this before he heads to UCLA Wednesday with Mayor V to endorse Clinton.
Only in San Francisco: Apparently Mayor Gavin Newsom is considered too conservative for his city. The Democrat Newsom who illegally allowed gay marriage in Bagdad by the Bay (don't get your panties in a bunch - Mayor Sam is 100% in favor of marriage rights for homosexuals but it has to be done through the proper legal channels and not shoved down the throats of folks who still have an issue with it or you'll set the cause back 100 years as Newsom did) is just too right wing. Local leftists are holding a "progressive convention" in order to find the right liberal candidate to oppose Newsom.
And finally the Valley is getting upscale theatres in two of this old, dead Republican mayor's favorite places. First off plans have been in the works for the last several months to build a new Laemmle Theatres cineplex at NoHo Commons near the Metro Red Line station in the NoHo Arts District. The latest news is that the Pacific Theatres at the Sherman Oaks Galleria is converting to the Arclight Theatres flag.
